Fantastic food, the staff were all friendly and helpful. Graham behind the bar was stand out with his cocktails and we really enjoyed talking to him, he helped make the night special for our family👌. Really enjoyed our stay over and we will 100% be returning
Had our Christmas party meal here 2 weeks ago and I’m afraid to say it was terrible. The food was cold, the mashed potato was hard, the chicken was tough and the deserts were tasteless. The venue was also freezing cold. We paid a lot of money for poor quality and substandard food. The disco was good but that’s the only positive I can give it. Won’t be booking again.
Arrived 12.30 order drinks waitress said she would bring menus over by 1300 had to go and ask again menu finally arrived. Order sandwiches and home made chips sandwich’s arrived after 15 minutes but no chips and was incomplete asked where the missing item was told they had run out so made the filling bigger had I known I would have ordered differently Certainly will not be returning
Xmas 3 course dinner Starter Soup- v nice Main meal plate looked unappetising. Consisted of a yorkshire pudding, a small piece of turkey breast, 1 roast potato 4 sprouts which you could eat through a straw. 2 pieces of mange tout??? Raw 2 pieces of broccoli Raw 2 strips of v well done parsnip? or possibly carrot we couldn't tell Dessert Cheesecake v nice. Service extremely slow. Overall an experience I will not endure again.
This is a very popular eatery and it’s always best to book ahead for your Sunday lunch. I have found it OK on the last two visits (September & October) The usual fare , Sunday roasts but I find it lacking something in comparison with other restaurants close by. So, worth a visit, go check it out for yourself
Gorgeous meal and drinks, friendly and very attentive staff. Food was gorgeous, great portion sizes. Nice setting too! Lovely array of cocktails and bar staff professional. Try their lovely cocktails!
Been bought a voucher for a birthday to go for a meal. No atmosphere & not very many people in the pub/restaurant. Cold & very uninviting place. Menu choice was a limited 3 course meal quite uninspiring or the main a la carte menu. We decided on the a la carte main meal for a treat!!!!! We ordered. Sea Bass which was cooked nicely; but what they had done to the sun blushed tomatoes is beyond me. Very chewy & strange taste! The Burger was totally disgusting; tasted of spicy pepper & not a lot else. With a tiny piece of lettuce & a tiny piece of “Welsh rarebit” the bun was very soggy & tasteless too. As for the “Proper Chips” well they were vile, soggy, oily, disgusting. The chef should have been ashamed to serve that meal… We have eaten better burger & chips in MCDonalds for an fraction of the cost. £16.50 they had the cheek to ask for a small burger & disgusting chips. When we complained to staff they did nothing but said can tell management… but did nothing. Would advice people to stay well clear of this place. We will never go back there. We did try to eat here a few years ago but after smelling the stinking dirty; toilet we decided to leave. Only returned because of voucher!!!!!! Massive mistake. Take our advice & save your money & the disappointment of a shockingly rubbish meal.!!!!…
Went for a birthday meal so disappointed the meal was very disappointing gambas pil pil 4 tasteless prawns a few tomatoes sat in half a ciabatta Muscle portion for a main meal a joke extra bread 3.75 for half a ciabatta bun Sat waiting for the drink order had to go and ask after 20 minutes staff were chatting and emptying the glass washer We will not be returning to this restaurant, service and food extremely poor
Have visited on a number of occasions but it seems that the staff have changed and the ingredients they use Booked for an 80th birthday 13 people Had to pre order which isn’t the best Starters expensive and poor especially the Gambas Parmo great moules poor service poor. Staff attitude poor Won’t be back
Sadly I would agree with most of the negative comments previously mentioned however, the one comment I would like to make in addition is the Curfew that they like to operate with their guest. I was informed at check in the doors are locked by 11pm this made me feel like a teenager and also very difficult to negotiate a means of access outside of these restrictions. Front door key option was not offered, this made my stay uncomfortable and far too restricted. To give it a positive the Yorkshire breakfast although greasy was OK. I could not recommend or return. Nothing will change till the owners start to read this and previous negative comments.
