Girls at front desk as always were very efficient and friendly. We got to hotel super early , but room was ready for us , so it was so good to go get changed into swimming cossies ready for a couple of hours in the pool. Shout out to restaurant staff Matthew and Stephen. Super nice and go above and beyond and breakfast was delicious. Another shout out to Amy in the gym/pool area reception. She is always lovely. Had her work cut out as pool was exceptionally busy over the weekend we were there. Good location to explore Middlesbrough town centre. Short walk to bus station and train station. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
If I’d not been on a coach trip I would of checked out on the day of arrival. Only one lift worked for the whole weekend. The second life worked when it liked. The meals were not the greatest Breakfast the toaster wasn’t set properly so you either had burnt toast or only one side done but even that took two goes through. They run out of the basics marmalade and crumpets. I asked for a fan and expected a working fan but no they send up one that didn’t work. The bathroom had not been cleaned properly there was a pubic hair in the cracked sink! The layer of dust in the public toilets needed to be addressed. The evening meals were so funny we had to sit at the same table each evening to help the catering staff who could not deliver six starters/mains/pudding at once!
So this is our first choice hotel when staying in Middlesbrough. We wouldnt stay anywhere else. We love Stephen at breakfast and the breakfast and he is the reason i return year after year after year and for the staff who are the friendliest in England, Please never retire Stephen I would be heartbroken!
We hadn’t stayed here previously and only booked it because our favourite, the nearby Holiday Inn Express, was fully booked during graduation week. We booked 2 twin standard rooms, which were on the 4th floor (comprising a double & single beds, very comfy). It was really unfortunate that our stay fell during the record-breaking heatwave & I hadn’t noticed on the hotel details that there’s no aircon in these rooms, nor does the window open more than 2 inches. Plus the sun shines in from morning to afternoon on that particular side of the hotel. Boy was it unbearably hot! But that aside, I haven’t stayed in a hotel without aircon for many a year - and this is supposed to be 4 star?! The second disappointment was the state of the room; the bathroom sink was badly cracked (not leaking), there were several stains on the carpet, & mould spots around the bath, which also had a very stiff shower tap making it difficult to operate. My daughter’s room next door absolutely reaked of smoke, particularly in the bathroom, so we had to ask for it to be aired, which it was. The saving grace was being able to get fans on our second night & the reception staff were very helpful here, putting 2 back for us after a delivery they’d had. Thank you for saving us! So I’m sorry Jury’s Inn, your hotel is not 4* and if anyone reading this is torn between here & Holiday Inn Express around the corner & which is similarly priced, go for the other.…
perfect as allways. perfect breakfast now again, in covid time it was difficult perfect staff !!! Always friendly, competently and professional much better menu for diner as bevor and always high quality food
I recently stayed at the Jurys Hotel on my own visiting my family in Redcar, which was a very pleasant 15 minutes drive away. Breakfast was perfect, starting with a massive bowl of porridge, along with the usual full monty breakfast and if room, finished with toast in the usual slow toast machine, which you become familiar with if you stay in hotels. At the end of the day I would sit at the bar and have a nightcap as I had driven back from my families home and don't drink and drive, and chatted to the very pleasant staff who kept me company when there was no customers. I he room was perfect with at my request a walk in shower and was not far from the lift. There is also a swimming pool which I didn't t get time to sample. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a stopover to visit friends or simply explore the scenic countryside, which I had completely the wrong idea about and was very pleasantly surprised. In fact I am looking forward to my next visit here. Many thanks to all the excellent staff.…
Very poorly maintained hotel in deprived area of town No staff and poorly trained Need to improve if I was staying there again Please follow this up as I would consider again if standards were to improve The hotel needs to invest in a new lift too Very noisy
Rooms were good although 1 room didnt have TV remote. Check in staff were good. However service in bar was awful. We decided to eat there - bad choice. Poor choice of food, extremely expensive and we had to wait over an hour for our meal. People at next table got lots of extra attention and much faster food delivery. Poor atmosphere. Bedroom was too hot and we couldnt change temperature. Duvets were really thick and heavy so far too hot, had to take out of cover and sleep (badly) under just cover. If we came again would ask for lightweight duvet and eat out! Such a shame as we were pleased with price and helpfulness of Reception staff.
Jurys in is a great place to stay the staff are brilliant they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome breakfast was fantastic with lots to choose from will definately be staying again Well done to all
Staff were all so friendly and helpful... from the desk staff and breakfast staff, everyone really made a difference to our stay in it being extra pleasant. :) Breakfast was lovely, lots of variety, loved it! Lovely clean room, nice shower.
