For a nights stay it was perfect and staff were totally amazing - bed was lovely and slept really well. Breakfast was great unlimited English and coffee machine was amazing. It was easy to park and right place to head in to the town for dinner in the evening

Located above Aldi, and unwelcoming and intimidating entrance, understaffed, reception frequently unmanned, access via multiple security scans, dark corridors, paid top price for bottom quality. penny pinching in the extreme no soap not enough milk, tea, coffee. Microwave food at restaurant prices.

Booked into the hotel on a wet night and the welcome from the staf was very friendly and I was met with wide smiles. They were very helpful when I asked about WiFi and parking, also informing me of restaurant times and breakfast times in a jolly fashion. I checked out the room which was basic but very clean and once I dropped my bag off I went to the bar. I opted for the pizza and pint meal deal at the bar/restaurant and it was scrumptious. £8.95 for a pint of Stella and a 12” meat feast was great value. Even when I asked for sauce it was brought out with a smile. Thank you Jenna, Lisa and Vikki.

Room Tip: Car park looks dodgy but if you book in at reception you don’t get charged. Eat in the bar.

I have used Travel Lodges quite frequently and usually been quite pleased with my stay but this one surpassed all of the other Travel Lodges. I was in Middlesborough for the Rugby World Cup game Tonga v Cook Islands. Enjoyable game but not close at 92 10 to Tonga! When I arrived at the Travel Lodge I was greeted by Amy. She was welcoming and professional. My room (118) was a really decent size and the bed was very comfortable. What struck me about my room and the entire hotel was the impeccable cleanliness of it all. Whatever Travel Lodge pay their cleaners they should give them a bonus! All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. I paid £8.99 for the buffet breakfast. I must say it was very tasty and enjoyable. Enough choice if you just wanted to have the continental breakfast and all the cooked food was kept nice and hot. There was only one small point which could be easily rectified. There was no view from my window as you looked out on to a flat roof but that had quite a bit of litter on it. As I got there in the dark and left after breakfast it wasn’t a problem but considering how well kept the hotel was I’m sure the litter problem could be solved in minutes. I would certainly stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting this area.

Nikki was amazing running the whole place on her own, (only person I saw from sorting my door card, serving me food and drink and doing housekeeping) Run off her feet but still smiling. The woman needs a metal!!!! 5 stars for Nikki all day !!!
