The hotel itself looks and feels just like a rather grand, 300-year-old town house, complete with richly furnished drawing room, library, parlour and courtyard garden. Our characterful bedrooms are all furnished with genuine antiques and named after real people who lived in the area. Our bathrooms all have period fittings, refurbished, of course, to modern standards of efficiency.

My son found this hotel quite by accident and said I really needed to try it, so that’s exactly what I did the most unassuming building you could easily walk straight past but do so at your peril.
If you are looking for something out of the ordinary this is the place for you. I Stayed in the Mendoza room (club) for 2 nights a because of last weekends storm I stayed an extra night and was then put in Wagstaff I’ve never felt so relaxed every detail is thought of nothing to much trouble the rooms are beautifully decorate and each is individually decorated they have bathrobes REN bathroom products plenty of towels and well supplied bar hairdryer, down stairs you have use of 3 rooms 1 library a lounge with honesty bar and a saloon at the front, a small put beautiful courtyard that’s lit at night with candles and you can also smoke in this area if you so wish, and location excellent It’s 1 minuets walk from Spital fields with its market and trendy shops and easy access to Liverpool Street station and it you have time make sure you visit Dennis Severs House it’s bookings only but just a little unseen part of London history it’s right next door!
I really do hope you enjoy as much as I did. Adam on reception is an absolute delight I’m returning in May already looking forward to it this is only a very small hotel and would be booked up early I think they only have 30 rooms if that. I booked with Mr&Mrs Smith for the best rates. I truly hope you enjoy as much as I did Bravo Batty Langley’s an absolute triumph.

My son has known about this hotel for a while and forgot to mention it, I may never forgive him..! Its a total Gem quite simply perfect. Not your run of the mill Boutique Hotel very special on another level each room is individual they have 3 lounges immaculately decorated where breakfast is served an honestly bar and a small but perfectly formed patio. Location is wonderful Spittalfields in just a minutes walk away, the famous covered market and little boutique shops cafes and restaurants.
Dennis Severs House is next door you will need to book in advance as only limited numbers aloud. I would recommend this hotel to everyone however possibly not with children.

From the minute you arrive at this gorgeous hotel you are made to feel welcome. The room we had, The Jack Shepard, was beautiful. Roll top bath, quirky decoration and wonderfully quiet. We were there to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary and their room had a 4 poster bed and a lovely terrace which we made lots of use of. We brought champagne and room decorations which the staff set out in the room for their arrival and personally brought the champagne in ice buckets with lovely flutes to the room for them. The hotel staff are the best I have ever experienced. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to help you even when you don’t ask. We ordered a meal to be delivered from an outside restaurant and when they saw it arrive we were immediately offered cutlery and plates which were then promptly delivered to the terrace beautifully laid out on a tray with napkins. This attention to detail was a theme that lasted our whole stay. Worth every penny and the location near to Liverpool Street station is ideal too. Would love to stay again very soon.

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a much bigger trip organised originally as a replacement honeymoon when our original plans were put on hold. Unfortunately the wedding had to be postponed as well but we still embarked on the trip.
Entering Batty Langley's feels like entering an oasis of calm amongst the hustle, bustle of frenetic London. Having both lived and/or worked in London many moons ago we didn't realise how much this part of East London had changed. It is definitely the in place to now be!
However we felt safe and secure and the staff were just super friendly and helpful. Covid restrictions meant breakfast was ordered the night before and then brought to our room always promptly and on time.We ate out one morning and to be honest for the slight difference in overall price we soon returned to room service.
The bedroom furnishings make you feel like you are stepping back into another era and we felt "quite spoilt". Soaking in the bath tub was just glorious!
The only slight piece of furniture missing was a sofa rather than three individual chairs as it would have been nice to relax of an evening after being out and about .
Overall a beautiful place and we will return one day!

Booking was very easy online.
Hotel is set just 5 minutes walk from Liverpool Street Station where there is a large variety of bars and eateries.
When you check in, you are given a guided walk of the ground floor rooms and taken to your room. Receptionist was lovely and we got talking to her each time we went in and out.
We stayed in Sarah Marchant room which was sufficient and had mini fridge, tv and bathroom with 2 showers but no bath. Complimentary toiletries. Room was very clean and chambermaid was lovely and hardworking as we got talking to her
The decor throughout is fabulous.
Honesty bars on ground floor are well staocked but mega mega expensive. £10 for vodka and coke.
There are a few areas which we feel could be improved on and hopefully, the hotel will take on board:
Having to ask for an iron is an inconvenience. This is standard in any budget hotel
No tea making facilities for a hotel of this price range. Again, freely available in any budget hotel
No information in rooms about absolutely anything. This included the area and the mini bar (wifey had a Kit Kat and it was £1.50, not skimping but come on, if we had of known).
Ringing bell each time to get in and asking for key is a pain
You need to be aware that there is very large long term building works at 2 sides of the hotel which means you cannot have the windows open due to noise.
If you have booked, I am sure you'll have a fab time

This is a small boutique hotel with gorgeous rooms and 18th century style furnishings and paintings. Our room was attractively appointed, spacious and cosy and a real respite after a long day of touring around London. The location is perfect, on an historical street once inhabited by Huguenot silk weavers in the 18th century. The buildings in the area, for the most part, have remained authentic to the period and are beautifully maintained. A short walk brings you to to Spitalfield’s Market and excellent local eateries. While there is no restaurant per se there is an exceptional room service kitchen where they make wonderful breakfasts served on a tray each morning and other meals as requested during the day and evening. We have never experienced such exceptional service in any hotel we have visited. The staff became like friends and we were very sorry to say goodbye after the three weeks we visited. There is a service for laundry available and they can arrange for a car to take you to and from the airport.
We highly recommend Batty Langley’s to anyone who would like a truly memorable experience in London! It is like stepping back in time. We cannot think of a single criticism or suggestion of what the staff could do better! They were so considerate in taking care of anything we needed.

I booked this hotel as part of my partner’s birthday present. However, I requested an early check in at 1pm as I had booked a show which started at 2pm. We actually arrived even earlier at 12:30pm but the front desk were brilliant. They explained that they had seen the notes on the booking and made sure that our room was ready to go. They also wished my partner a happy birthday so it was clear that they had made a note of the info I had included when booking.
A lovely porter called Stacey then gave us a tour of the hotel and showed us around the common rooms that guests have use of, before taking us to our room. Was nice to have such a warm welcome and Stacey made us feel right at home. Stacey also arranged for a tea tray to be brought up to the room ready for when we returned that day.
The sitting rooms around the hotel are lovely. All of them had a small fire crackling away and were very comfortable. One of the rooms had an honesty bar in it as well so I’d recommend making sure to check out those rooms and enjoy a drink in a cosy chair. Stacey mentioned that guests can visit the sitting rooms at any time they please.
We stayed in the James Stillwell room, which was beautiful. So nicely designed and impeccably clean. Don’t be fooled by the period furniture, the room was incredibly modern as well with various charging ports around the room and also a surround sound system which means that you can have a bath and listen to your music through the speakers in the ceiling. You can also cast straight from your phone onto the TV.
Our room had a bath and also a separate shower. Both were very clean and the toiletries were lovely. The bath was huge!
Check out was very easy and the front desk kindly stored our bags for us whilst we enjoyed our day around London.
I cannot fault the service that we received at the hotel. Every staff member we spoke to was very friendly and helpful. I’m also so grateful for the early check in that we were provided with. It was so nice to have a little time in the room to freshen up and leave our bags before we headed into London for our plans. Really made all the difference.
My partner and I loved our stay at Batty Langley’s and I wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay with them.

Stayed for one night and only wish I could’ve stayed for longer. From the second I arrived I knew this was going to be a lovely stay. The lobby area is as beautiful as the whole hotel, and the staff are super friendly and helpful at all times, making for a really personal stay. It was also handy to be able to leave our luggage before checking in and after checking out.
We had booked a Club Double room and were allocated the Peg Woffington room. The room was bigger than expected and the bathroom was huge. The only downside was that there wasn’t a bathtub. One of the highlights of the room was the speakers in the shower which connected to the tv! The room was quirky and luxurious (like the whole hotel) and the bed was very comfy. Throughout the hotel are beautiful and ornate original features across various sitting rooms (and bathrooms!) which are all lovely, and the courtyard area was nice too.
Little touches such as complimentary trays of tea delivered to the room, nice toiletries and tea & cake served in one of the lounge areas made for a really luxurious stay.
Breakfast wasn’t included in the price but I’m glad we decided to order it - there’s a choice to have breakfast in the room or in one of the communal areas. The menu is fairly limited (more hot vegetarian options would be nice) but it was lovely.
The location was perfect too - not far from Liverpool Street station and minutes away from Shoreditch and Spitafields market.
It’s certainly not the cheapest hotel but it’s perfect for a little treat and so worth the price! I would happily return tomorrow!

Just perfect. Stayed here for 2 nights for a birthday trip to London and it was like having your own private residence. The owners have got this just right, beautiful antique furniture throughout, some repurposed to house the bedroom TV and mini bar. Our room was upgraded which was a lovely surprise. Homely lounges with fires lit and help yourself to drinks and cocktails, what could be better. Breakfast is served in your room, so again very private and homely. You really feel like you should pop your slippers on once through the front door. Every member off staff we dealt with was friendly, helpful and professional. Location is perfect too, very quiet, but with plenty of places to eat and drink, Spitalfields Market is a 3 minute walk around the corner.

I really loved my stay here at Batty Langley's. As you enter the main door you can smell the furniture polish which must mean there is a treasure trove of antique furniture - true!
I stayed in a Superior Room for two nights. Very smart and clean with an amazing bathroom. Comfortable bed and plenty of space to spread out in the room.
The reason why I have given it a 4 star instead of 5, is that it feels a bit too constrained to a 'boarding house'. You have to ring the bell to get in and out. You also have to be in the communal rooms for free tea and coffee (these rooms are beautiful but means you have to leave the comfort of your room). Also no kettle or iron as standard in the room. Once asked staff couldn't be more friendly but this is something I would expect from a Premier Inn not a 5* hotel.
The staff were very helpful and friendly also. I had an issue with a flickering bedside lights - added to the atmosphere but was a little irritating. I haven't marked it down for that as I couldn't be bothered to have the hassle of someone in my room to try and fix it... zonked after two days of walking.

To be honest I’m not totally sure, however I seem to remember a guest arriving with a car so it must have been parked offsite but I could have got that wrong definitely no underground parking. Also might I add a car is not needed location is excellent Liverpool Street station and bus stops across the road.
I hope you love this hotel it’s a real treat. Anthea
Yes, Queen size I believe. Also SO comfortable.
Sorry, we got the train/tube up so don’t know. Google nearest NCP car parks and that will tell you.
You can leave your luggage with the concierge, we did. I think check in is 3pm. Check their website to confirm.
We ate breakfast at the nearby Breakfast Club and it was amazing
