Hotel's Favourite
I like staying in hotels. I joined the Intercontinental ambassador/platinum program last year and stayed in a lot of IHG hotels recently. They’re nice. But the rewards are only for basic rooms when I assumed you could splash out on a suite with points.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Hyatt hotels (their rewards are better), but they don’t have enough of them in Europe. The Andaz brand is one of my favorites and I’ve stayed at the one in London a few times. It’s a great location (right on the Elizabeth line at Liverpool with great tube connections) and close to hip East London.
The hotel is charming with a very nice gym with lots of unexpected equipment, and not just treadmills. They have funky bars and restaurants and a happy hour of free wine. Kind of like the Kimpton, but 6-7pm is better than Kimpton’s 4-5pm (used to be the better 5-6). The Andaz staff is really friendly, but many nice hotels have great staffs.
I’m kind of done leaving reviews. I write for a living and this seems like pro bono work for people I don’t know so platforms can make money. But this time I was treated especially well and I have to thank a few people and shout out the Andaz.
I came in early looking for an early check in, and I don’t want to snitch on what they did, in case your lucky number doesn’t come up, but I do have to thank Sam at the front desk. He was so sympathetic and accommodating and went beyond the call of duty. It really made a difference. Carlos the Duty Manager came out and explained the situation. I think he approved my excellent nap and later very nice upgrade. Thank you gentlemen! You made my great stay even better!

We have stayed in three different Hyatt properties in London last week to compare the quality from a Hyatt Globalist's perspective. This was our first visit to Andaz London and overall impression was good.
Location: (9/10)
Located right next to Liveroool street station. Convenient access to the East end and a few stations away from Oxford circus and Marble Arch etc.
Room: (8/10)
Spacious room and bath. Clean and comfortable bed. Nice in room amenities such as coffee machine, tea and complimentary mini bar items like other Andaz do.
Service (9/10)
Offered early check in at 9am. Initially being given a standard room, but when the front desk staff Nicholas recognized our Globalist status, he called into our room and arranged changing to a better room and helped us with luggage transfer.
Dining (10/10)
This was the best breakfast out od the three Hyatts that I am comparing. Very good selection from the long buffet table. Artisan cheese, homemade baked beans, cold cuts and salads, honeycomb, variety of nuts and cereals. Made to order hot dishes were perfectly cooked.
Facilities (9/10)
Very good evening drink and canapes. Gym was spacious and there was a steam room that I haven't used.
Overall 45/50
This is a category 5 Hyatt hotel.
Very nice hotel in general, great value for money in an expensive city London.
I rated both Andaz London and Hyatt Regency Churchill the same 45/50 and both will be my choice to consider for the upcoming trip to London again this Autumn.

This place is so good for visiting London, especially if you arrive at Liverpool Street Station. Easy to book - best from Hyatt Website. This gives you ability to contact, book in etc, and organise your stay via their App.
1 minutes walk from station. Super helpful and friendly staff on reception. Room 104 was fantastic with a long hall tastefully decorated, large lounge and dining area, large dressing and wardrobe area, roll top bath and walk in shower. Bedroom was large and had electric blinds and large TV. Very comfortable bed
Breakfast in restaurant was high quality and had great Granola. Full English was enough for 2, and very tasty, lovely salmon and poached Eggs Royale
Great onsite Hotel Japanese restaurant.
Despite Covid-19 this hotel was super for a break, very well looked after, super staff, and felt safe and clean. Great Value for money also

We stayed in the run up to Christmas, as a base for things all over the west end, city and docklands. Being right on the central line, it was really well positioned. The rooms are large and stylish and the front of house staff were great and the upgrade options we were given were very good value. Breakfast service was a bit laboured (in the Eastway), but otherwise our stay was good value and pretty much faultless.

As ever hard to fault the Hyatt brand! The building is amazing with lots of different areas and fabulous staircases! All tastefully decorated and furnished. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We had an issue with the check in, but the management were immediately responsive and generous it certainly made a difference.
We were shown three rooms and all were different in some way. The room we chose had a huge bed and everything you could possibly need was included even a very generous mini bar! There were no rooms available facing the street so it did feel a bit enclosed and dark but I would imagine that made it quieter? We certainly could not hear any traffic and luckily we had no noisy neighbours.
Very close to good transport to other parts of London and within walking distance to Brick Lane bars and restaurants, we visited the Whitechapel Gallery.
We were tired so had room service dinner, all served hot and it was very tasty. Breakfast had plenty of vegetarian options and staff again very attentive.
We did not visit the gym area and we missed out on the happy hour so look forward to our next stay!

Many rooms, not all, are big enough and provide a stylish environment including modern bathrooms. The location at Liverpool Street station is central and therefore advantegeous. The service team is very kind and friendly. Just one point, regular guests should be recognized and served in a more individual manner.

Picked up a very good deal on Secret Escapes.
Located next door to Liverpool Street Station so perfect for the underground but also the likes of St Paul's walkable within 20 minutes. Lovely modern hotel finished to a high standard and decent sized rooms (especially by London standards).
Warm friendly welcome at reception with a glass of Prosecco.
Room 305 was located internal facing so not a single piece of noise. Just bliss. Super king size and amazingly comfortable bed, complimentary (non-alcoholic mini bar). Big TV albeit with some channel limitations. Shower over (quite a high) bath.
Breakfast next door was good quality and provided enough choice.
Complimentary wine hour (2 actually) between 6pm and 8pm, albeit a bit of confusion whether it's one complimentary drink or a few more!!
Definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 3 nights in December and we are very happy with the room, hotel's design, location and the services. Special thanks to Ms Jenny who did the check-in for us. She also very caring and sending a little gift and the book about london which is very impressive. The happy hour at the hotel is a big plus, also the complimentary Mini-bar in the room everyday. Thanks to the hotel's staff for the hospitality. Very recommended.

I have to say this is one of the best hotels i have been to! The moment we walked through the door someone was there to greet you and show you where to check in. We checked in with a lovely man Francesco who was extremely professional and attentive.
The hotel entrance was very stylish and inviting and the hotel rooms were spotless. I really enjoyed the mini bar in the room, you are given lots of tea and coffee, crisps, biscuits and bottles of water.
I had one of the best nights sleep, I'm not sure where the hotel gets thier duvets and mattress but you feel you are sleeping on a cloud. One of the best nights sleep in ages.
Breakfast was lovely, there was alot to chose from and the room we sat in was beautiful, the staff were lovely too.
Fantastic location, right next to the train station, fantastic staff and overall fantastic stay. I will be coming back to visit in the near future. Thankyou andaz x

Stayed here for a four day long weekend holiday. Very much enjoyed the stay. Very comfortable, stylish rooms with good bedding and bathroom fixtures. Stylish hotel that is a good renovation of the old Great Eastern Hotel from 1884 - some stunning restaurants as a result. Staff is wonderful - they really make you feel welcome and at home. Special mentions of Matteo at reception, Perry in Rake's and Clement at 1901.. Matteo provided a great welcome, Perry made me and my friend laugh, and Clement understood I don't eat rubbish like quinoa bowls and chia oatmeal and found me a proper breakfast of grilled kippers and poached eggs Because of the latter I faced a difficult travel day feeling much better. One other plus is the location - very convenient to the West End with the tube and the neighborhood has a lot of good restaurants. Will happily return.

Sorry I've not stayed in a suite but love the hotel. The staff are so helpful and respond quickly to enquiries so I would contact the hotel.
Our 26 year old daughter used a rollaway bed and found it to be comfortable
I think so but maybe call to check. We missed it but we’re offered a glass of bubbles on arrival which was a nice touch.
Hi Zenbeing19, Kittywool is correct in the directions given i.e. to Paddington and then the Circle line. The direct rail shuttle mentioned on the Andaz web relates I believe to Standsted Airport, which takes 1 hour to Liverpool Street Station. Also if you would like any further advise/comments on the Andaz or other hotels in the area then please do not hesitate to ask.
They are usually served between 8pm and 9pm.
