The Park Plaza London Riverbank offers an inviting atmosphere with elegant decor and live music that guests find luxurious. While the service has received mixed feedback, with some travelers commending the professionalism and others pointing out service lapses, the hotel's central location is a consistent plus, offering easy access to London's attractions. Room experiences vary, with commendations for comfort and views, yet some concerns over size and upkeep. Despite the well-regarded amenities, travelers question the value, noting the high cost relative to the quality provided.

Had a very pleasant stay at Park Plaza Riverbank as a valentines retreat - The staff were courteous and accommodating and did all they could to ensure a pleasant and stress free stay.

The location is idyllic and in the heart of London within easy reach of various tourist attractions and amazing skyline views. The on-site restaurant also provides amazing food at reasonable prices perfect for a romantic get away. The clean spacious room was also romantically decorated which was a lovely personal touch based on notes left upon booking.

Couldn’t fault them and would highly recommend to everyone as well as being willing to stay again :)

Two night visit to London with our 10 and 7 year olds.

Things we loved; the Kids Corner at breakfast was a huge hit, and the staff on it (especially Corey) were exceptionally helpful and lovely. Breakfast overall was well stocked and enjoyable. The hotel location was great, close to main attractions and with a bus service outside the door. A short walk to Vauxhall meant we could jump straight on the Victoria line to and from Euston. Housekeeping and maintenance responded very quickly to our requests. The room was comfortable enough and the shower was excellent.

Things we weren't so happy with. The room was booked for 2 adults and 2 children. Clearly they are trying to encourage family business and it would have helped therefore to provide enough bedding and towels for all of us. I requested more towels and a pillow, but didn't realise that the duvet on the sofabed wasn't big enough, so one child was cold on the first night. Our dirty cups and glasses stayed outside our door for over 24 hours. Areas under the bed and the sink drainer were dirty.

The fact the hotel had a pool was a big draw and our children were desperate to get a swim. We got a helpful letter for families when we checked in and this explained that we had to book the pool. I rang 5 times on Saturday, from our room in the morning and then whilst we were out sightseeing, to try and book for Sunday morning before we left. There was no answer from the direct line to the spa at all. Switchboard told me I had to speak to reception. Reception didn't answer either. In a strange conversation I was told there was 'a pool but no spa' even though there were signs for the spa throughout the hotel. After my 5th try, I was becoming frustrated. Switchboard told me they would try and book it for us and let me know. I didn't hear another thing and so we went as planned at 8am on Sunday morning, to be greeted by a spa receptionist stating they had no booking, treating me with disdain and disbelief when I explained how I had tried to book. She spoke over the top of me throughout,in a patronising tone. Finally, we were allowed in for a swim. In my opinion it needs to be much clearer that the pool is small and advance booking is needed, and to have someone actually answer the spa/pool phone.

Lovely check in and great room. Nice bathroom and the hotel is generally clean apart from the bar area

Bar staff rude and abrupt and breakfast staff unhelpful. We waited over 20 minutes for our drinks and when we enquired about them a member of staff shouted abruptly ‘they are coming’. At breakfast there were no plates left and when I requested one I was told ‘someone will bring some’ but no one did

I would stay again as good location and rooms but not use the bar or restaurant

This hotel is situated in a very convenient location in the heart of London. It’s decor is extremely modern and rooms are in good order. Some of the standard rooms are slightly smaller than average rooms esp when two people are trying to get ready at the same time.

The thing that let this hotel down the most was the restaurant and bar staff and their service manager. The service was rude and slow. We got a couple of drinks where the glass on one of the drinks just broke on it’s own. Manager did not care whatsoever. Didn’t care if it could have led to a serious injury on my wife. Instead just said “I suppose I will have to give you the drink for free”. The service manager then said that they weren’t able to help more as they were “too busy”. Even one of the waiters said the excuse was not on!

The next morning at breakfast was another experience! It is complete chaos! There is not enough tables or space to deal with the demand or flow of customers. They have a buffet and also advertise the opportunity to ask for poached eggs and vegan sausages to be made or ordered on request. We asked for come poached eggs and 30 minutes last they had not come despite asking a waiter 3 times for them. To which his response was “they will be at out in 2 minutes”

Overall I would say if you are planning to spend money on a place to stay in central there are plenty of other options for the cost, location and way better service! Do not waste your money here!

e booked an executive river view room for a special occasion, mainly to get access to the executive lounge to make use of the private lounge and complimentary drinks.

On check in there was no mention of the executive lounge. On asking we were told it is closed, and that booking an executive room does not actually give access to the executive lounge anyway. This was definitely not clear on the website and I’m not convinced the receptionist was telling the truth. We were given two drink vouchers for the bar instead.
We were sent up to a river view room on the 7th floor.
The room was a bit small and looked down towards Lambeth. Some balloons, wine and chocolates had been put in the room, but the room itself was a bit underwhelming. We checked with reception and was told we could move to a higher floor facing Westminster in a few hours. We were asked to leave our bag packed and it would be moved before we returned.

We went out for a few hours and on return we’re given a much nicer room on the 13th floor. This room was larger and much more modern. Our bags had not been brought up so we called down and was told they would be brought up to us. Apparently they won’t move them until the guest returns for security reasons?.
After an hour we had no bags so I had to go downstairs and ask for it. The concierge said he would sort it and actually moved the bags himself.

Breakfast was ok. Cold buffet had a good range but the hot food was not very hot. The fried eggs were like rubber and had been under the heat lamp far too long. The hot food is served, by someone that seems to operate in his own time zone. He was frustratingly slow.

We used the bar on one occasion (with our vouchers). It is also the restaurant which was a bit strange as we had people eating full meals right next to us. The room is quite large with high ceilings and lacks atmosphere. Standards are not that high. We saw one person send their drink back as there was a mark on the glass (possibly lipstick). The barman took it turned his back and wiped it off, before returning the same glass to the customer.

We found the standards to be pretty low throughout the hotel. The corridors appear to only get cleared overnight so they are littered with room service dinner and breakfast trays all day. Some staff were excellent, the concierge and receptionist on checkout, but mostly staff didn’t seem that interested in delivering good service.

The hotel is in a good location being just over the river from parliament and a 30 min walk in to the West End. It has the potential of being an excellent hotel, but is mediocre at best.

Dear Matt, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are glad to read that you enjoyed the service and location, although we are sorry we have fallen short on some aspects. I would like to confirm that our Executive Lounge is currently closed, and we do not offer access to it by booking an Executive room. All guests can have access to the Lounge by asking or booking the relative package, despite the type of rooms booked. All this information can be found on our main website, and I am sorry it was not properly communicated to you. We regret your initial room was not for your liking, but we are happy that the room on the 13th floor met much more your expectations! We're really sorry for your breakfast and bar experience and would like to assure you this is not up to our usual standards at all. We take constructive feedback such as yours seriously and will address the issues you've raised. We do hope that despite your experience on this occasion you will choose to stay with us again, as we would love the opportunity to really wow you and on your next visit! Best Regards, Federica

Leading up to our stay, we had to make some change of dates due to the progressing Coronavirus situation. Our room was booked as non-refundable, however the friendly bookings team were able to change our dates, whilst keeping the original rate. Upon check in, we were greeted with the exceptionally friendly staff, who couldn’t have been more helpful. When chatting about possibly leaving early in order to fly home before borders closed, the staff went out of their way to assure us that they would accommodate. We were offered a reasonably priced breakfast and room with a view upgrade, and enjoyed a clean, modern room overlooking the Thames, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye. Absolutely faultless stay, and we look forward to returning.

We had 2 complaints (room 1545 - last Tuesday -Sunday), at our 2nd day, our room had been cleaned at 17:00 instead of (most of the time between 9 to 15 h. We did a 1st complaint with a lot of respect. Our last day (Saturday) we discover the glass broken was on our floor, maybe the cleaner drop a glass or a beauty product in the floor, but didn't it clean it at 100 %, we entered in our room and I saw it right away, I went at the dest office at 18:00 and asked for the cleaner and 3 slippers, with respect) We went out and we return to the room at 23:00, the floor was not cleaned and no slippers, I went down to talk to the manager and someone came.... wow ! hard to believe.
We had lounge breakfast, after 1 or 2 days, they close it because few people but opened it on Saturday but they didn't inform us, we went there in case of I saw it was opened.

The concierge Gary is very good !!

Love, Love, Love this hotel!

We have stayed here 3 times now and we love it more every time we stay.

We have stayed at a lot of nice hotels across London and this one is the best hands down, we genuinely cannot find one fault about this hotel and cannot see how it possibly has bad reviews. The only thing I can think of is that they stayed in the other hotel that is in the same building.

Rooms
The room we booked was an one bedroom suite with balcony and a parliament view, the room was modern and a great size with an amazing bath and good size balcony.
The view is unreal and right on the Thames facing the House of Parliament, London Eye & Oxo tower.

Staff
cannot fault them they are all so polite and always happy to help.
Don in particular will always go above and beyond for you, always gives you a warm welcome & we were surprised that he remembered us from last time so that was really nice!!

Food
In the hotel there is a restaurant called Chino Latino, situated in the bar
We didn’t eat in Chino Latino but did try some tasters they had at reception and they were delicious so will deffo be booking a table there next time.
We did sit in the bar and eat off of the bar menu (they have so many options for a bar menu) and the food was great, again. Cannot fault it.

Facilities
There is an ice machine on every floor
Hairdryers, iron & iron board in the room
Slippers & dressing gowns.
Pool, sauna, steam room. (The pool is quite small and could be a little warmer)
24/7 reception
Room service
Convenience shop right outside (closes around 9pm I believe)

Overal this hotel is 5 stars in our eyes and we will most defiantly be returning.

Thanks again! :)

Beautiful views of the river and bridges right outside the hotel - or from your room if you paid for the view! About a 10 minute walk to either of the 2 closest underground stations and a train station (Vauxhall). A relatively easy walk along the river to the London Eye.
This is a well-appointed hotel with lots of staff. The lobby has a perfumed smell that I found off-putting but is otherwise high end. The lobby and halls feature a modern but dark decor. The elevator situation is a little confusing with some elevators going all the way up, some just going part way up. The pool area is small, but the fitness center was bigger than I expected.
The rooms have no clocks, but do have nifty electronic room control hubs, so that you can control the thermostat, lights, and even curtains all at the push of a button from the comfort of your bed! The TV was decent if not a little grainy in picture.
Beds had choice of firm or soft pillow and comforter was thin but very warm (too warm?!). Hotel gives guests the option to "go green". Really allows them to save "green" as they don't clean your room or replace towels during your stay. After a week I was out of tissue, had overflowing garbage cans, and instead of waiting on the housekeeping services just found my way to the housekeeping closet on the floor and got my own fresh towels. A bottle of wine or gift certificate to their restaurant in the end wasn't enough of a trade off. I'd rather the go green option still include a cursory check of your room to restock/replace as necessary.
All in all this was a very modern hotel that aims to be great.

Stayed one night for a work trip and as I work for a charity, our budget normally only stretches to the likes of Travelodge and Premier Inn etc so this was a delightful change! I assume the lower room rate was due to the post Christmas/New Year slump where they try to fill rooms. Breakfast was not included in my rate so can’t comment on that but we ate in the modern, rather masculine looking, but pleasant bar (accompanied by pianist and singer) and had a sandwich and a burger from their reasonably priced (for London) bar menu. Drinks were expensive but in fairness, the spirits were double measures. All the communal areas that I saw are similarly of a stylish design. Checked out the gym (in the hope I’ll get to stay there again when the rate is right!) and although compact, it had a fair amount of equipment and looked very clean.
I had booked a Double Superior Room but upon check-in was upgraded to an Executive Room. No idea what extras I got for that but the room was a decent size and standard for a 4 star hotel with the addition of a panel next to the bed that operated all the lighting (including ‘mood lighting’) and the curtains. Comfy bed with memory foam topper and cotton bedlinen, desk and swivel easy chair. Good size bathroom with separate bath and shower. The latter took a few minutes to work out but was nice and hot with excellent pressure. Partial (if you stretched!) view of both the river and the railway but no significant noise from either the trains or the main road as I was on the 9th floor.
The overall impression is one of style and attention to detail for what I would regard as being a true to form 4 star hotel (but with the addition of a doorman at the entrance which you usually only see at 5 star hotels). All the staff I encountered were professional, polite and efficient and I’d very happily stay thereagain.
My only bug-bear was the TV remote! It literally only worked 20% of the time (batteries seemed to be ok) which was rather frustrating but a small irritation in the large scheme of things.
