Who said romance was dead?

They clearly haven’t stayed a night at this travelodge!
After fancying a quick romantic escape, my partner managed to find a last minute room here at this travelodge.

At an amazing £33 for the night in a family sized room, £50 in total for the two of us to also have the unlimited breakfast buffet (which was thoroughly enjoyable and will get into that later).

There was luckily parking at this hotel, although unfortunately it is paid £10 for 24hours. We struggled for a bit to pay the fee via the app but the receptionists (did not get their names; a young black man and a Caucasian last with long blonde hair) were extremely helpful and made the payment easier for us.

The bed was very comfortable, a great selection of programmes on the TV and a clean bathroom.

Only thing with the room was that one of the main lights did not work but that is literally the only downfall.

What makes this place even better is the 24hr bar downstairs, which myself and partner made full use of at 1:30am (so thank you very much for that).

THE BREAKFAST.
The breakfast was lovely! A very nice selection of breakfast options from fruit- yoghurts - cereal- hot breakfast also catering to vegetarians with veggie sausages and a lovely orange juice to wash it all down.

Lastly, and a wonderful finale to our short but sweet stay was the next days receptionist Olga! Who was truly delightful, very friendly and had great sense of humour! Making our departure all the more pleasant.

Would definitely come back here and would definitely recommend.

Thank you Travelodge!

My expectations were easily surpassed b
y a disarming greeting by Anna on arrival. I bumped into an old work colleague also booking in and she ut us next door to each other which was a nice touch. The room was genefrally clean and tidy but there was one striking hair in the bathroom . The rest of the room was clean and tidy as expected with a fully operational shower. The iron was rubbish that I collected but they just need to replace it . The breakfast was buffet style chafing dishes and refreshed and cleaned down constantly . It was a sound value option to start the day - well done

Honestly, it was such an amazing stay!

When I was greeted at the reception desk by the manager Emmy and staff member Akmal (I do apologise if I got the name wrong) they were both so kind and welcoming. I was given a nice comfy room the showers were working perfectly fine and the room was so warm and clean. I managed to get through my zoom calls with peace and quite as the room felt isolated and peaceful.

The location is amazing not a busy area so you can’t hear any traffic and plenty of parking !

Emmy is such a nice manager he assisted me promptly and accommodated me a perfect room. He understands when people have difficulties in their own homes and ensured I was able to use the shower facilities because my one in my property needed repairs.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this Travelodge to anyone in need of accommodation they look after you. Staff members were so helpful and everyone seemed so positive and the atmosphere never made me once uncomfortable so yes, I would definitely be back here!!

Thanks guys keep up the good work 😊😊😊

This hotel is ideally located for the Excel building. We could walk there in a few minutes or jump straight on a tube and be in the centre of London within 40 mins.
Overall our stay was OK but there is no aircon in this hotel so if you are staying in the height of summer as we were then do not stay here. It is too hot and the windows barely open. They did give us a fan but this did little to ease the heat.
The service was not great in the BarCafe. We waited over an hour to be served even when it was quiet and no one was clearing away dirty dishes so everyone had to eat with their left over plates cluttered onto the tables.
The shower did not work in one room and nothing was done about this and there was no offer to try and move rooms or to reimburse any costs for this. Staying in excessive heat with no shower for 4 nights is not a very pleasant experience.
The TV did not work in our room and we were told it was a hotel signal issue yet other guests told us their TVs were working fine.

Overall it was convenient but not an experience I would ever want to repeat. There are many hotels in this area and given the cost we paid especially on the Saturday night I would definitely stay in a different hotel if we were to go to this location again.

There are two examples of where the standards fell short of what we would expect from such a reputable hotel chain and the manager did not provide a professional service.
In the morning after our first night of a two night's stay, we hung the 'please top me up' notice on our door asking to refresh the towels, tea and coffee and to empty the bins. Nevertheless, when we arrived back to our room later in the evening our room had not been replenished. I told the manager that evening and he said sorry without even making eye contact or even asking if we wanted clean towels or offering to sort things out in the morning. The following morning, we still weren’t given clean towels or even contacted to replenish the room.
Secondly, we paid for breakfast for two the night before and I was told we had to be there before 11:00am. However, when we arrived at 09:55am and waited 5 minutes by the 'wait' sign, we were told breakfast had finished at 10:00am. I spoke to the receptionist and explained what had happened and after she had spoken with the manager three times, without him having the courtesy to talk to us at the reception desk personally, so we needed to ask to speak to him. We explained that we were told it closed at 11:00am but he refused to give us a refund and said he would make enquiries and then contact us on its conclusion. It has been exactly a week today and he still hasn't contacted us.
We have paid for breakfast that we didn't receive, the manager was abrupt and clearly didn't believe what we were telling him, and my partner and daughter were very upset by this experience. This meant that our final day in London was ruined as we could not fully enjoy the rest of the day and travelled home extremely unhappy and disappointed that our hard-earned money had been taken for breakfast that we didn't even receive.

If you are thinking of stopping here let me give you one word of advice .... don’t! It’s filthy, the housekeeping is lazy, we had to ask for pillows and towels 2 days on the trot before we got them, the tv didn’t work properly, the food is overpriced and disgusting, paying for parking is bloody stressful as the machines don’t work properly, the WiFi we paid for was only able to be used by one person, and we had to stand in a queue for 20 minutes at the bar to get a drink! Pubic hair in the shower, cracked filthy sinks in the reception toilet with chemicals left in their at child height, the whole hotel smelt of weed and the noise of people running up and down the corridors screeching wasn’t addressed. When told all this to the management and asked for a refund all we were offered was a voucher for another stay! Hell would freeze over before we ever came back here! Picture apparently is £12 worth of Macaroni Cheese with pulled pork!

Have just spent two nights at this hotel. The lack of air con & window restrictors that only allow a small window to open a crack made it very hot in the rooms/corridors. The shower curtain was too light & short which led to a pool of water on the bathroom floor. We were given towels every day to mop them up & we left those sodden towels in the hall for the cleaner to take away. Lighting in the room was too dim to read in bed. The location is central, safe & has great parking. Felt covid safe & was spotless. We used the stairs as often as we could to avoid mixing households in the lifts. Staff are lovely. Great comfortable King size beds. Brilliant value at £50 per night.

We went for an impromptu visit to London overnight. We usually stay in Dockland but decided to try a different travelodge this time. On arrival turned out the parking machine wasn't working but managed to pay over the phone. As we arrived just before 2 PM we thought we would check in before we hit the sights. Well we were told we need to pay £10 to do so.It was 1:45! I decided I am not paying £10 for 15 minutes so we waited. At 2 PM Telma (assistant manager) tried pleasantries but first impressions were spoilt already. We were given the key only to go to a room that was already occupied. Luckily the people were out or I could have walked in on God knows what. So we lost 20 minutes getting a room, yet she made us wait 15. The room was clean and we had separate beds for the children which was good. Breakfast was decent too, no complaints there. The dlr stations is very close but the hotel is too far from the main sights. We had paid for wifi but it turned out you can only connect 2 devices. The second day we had to top up the parking. The website showed hourly prices (we only needed an extra hour) but the phone payment method only lets you pay daily so we had to pay for a whole day.All in all it is ok but for the same price I've stayed closer to the centre with nicer service.

This hotel is brilliant. From the moment you walk in you are made to feel really welcome and like you are valued.

The hotel manager, Emy is fantastic, he can’t do enough for you no matter what you ask he delivers. We had a broken shower head and he personally came to fix it within minutes. He is a kind and friendly man and it’s clear that he really cares.

His staff are also great and all friendly and they are all happy to be there.

The location is great to get to central London and the DLR is less than a 5 minute walk away. I would personally recommend this hotel to anyone and is a lot better than other travelodges we have stayed in.

A real gem of a hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights, family of 4, one 10 one 16. The room was the size of a matchbox with a carpet that wouldn’t be fit to roll up a dead body in!!!!. The staff at reception were often missing and hiding out in the back room and it’s seemed like you were interrupting when you wanted anything. The general feel of the hotel is that’s it’s on its last legs in my opinion, we had no complaints about the DLR or airport noise as it’s expected as one of the cheapest hotel s but do expect a certain level of cleanliness and helpfulness, if you hate your job find another one. Maybe think about upgrading the 22” TVs in the rooms too but maybe that was to make the room feel bigger 😂. Also BEWARE if you have family room of 4, we discovered a bottle opener on the side of the dresser which was hidden by the pillows on sons bed which if he’d thrown his head back could have been nasty. Just worth checking with small kids. Overall glad to be home

No shops nearby, there was a vending machine in the hotel and the staff at the bar maybe able to sell you milk. There are other hotels next door so you maybe able to go there to see if they sell anything. There is a large Chinese restaurant opposite to, that may have some.
