They clearly haven’t stayed a night at this travelodge!
After fancying a quick romantic escape, my partner managed to find a last minute room here at this travelodge.
At an amazing £33 for the night in a family sized room, £50 in total for the two of us to also have the unlimited breakfast buffet (which was thoroughly enjoyable and will get into that later).
There was luckily parking at this hotel, although unfortunately it is paid £10 for 24hours. We struggled for a bit to pay the fee via the app but the receptionists (did not get their names; a young black man and a Caucasian last with long blonde hair) were extremely helpful and made the payment easier for us.
The bed was very comfortable, a great selection of programmes on the TV and a clean bathroom.
Only thing with the room was that one of the main lights did not work but that is literally the only downfall.
What makes this place even better is the 24hr bar downstairs, which myself and partner made full use of at 1:30am (so thank you very much for that).
THE BREAKFAST.
The breakfast was lovely! A very nice selection of breakfast options from fruit- yoghurts - cereal- hot breakfast also catering to vegetarians with veggie sausages and a lovely orange juice to wash it all down.
Lastly, and a wonderful finale to our short but sweet stay was the next days receptionist Olga! Who was truly delightful, very friendly and had great sense of humour! Making our departure all the more pleasant.
Would definitely come back here and would definitely recommend.
Thank you Travelodge!
y a disarming greeting by Anna on arrival. I bumped into an old work colleague also booking in and she ut us next door to each other which was a nice touch. The room was genefrally clean and tidy but there was one striking hair in the bathroom . The rest of the room was clean and tidy as expected with a fully operational shower. The iron was rubbish that I collected but they just need to replace it . The breakfast was buffet style chafing dishes and refreshed and cleaned down constantly . It was a sound value option to start the day - well done
When I was greeted at the reception desk by the manager Emmy and staff member Akmal (I do apologise if I got the name wrong) they were both so kind and welcoming. I was given a nice comfy room the showers were working perfectly fine and the room was so warm and clean. I managed to get through my zoom calls with peace and quite as the room felt isolated and peaceful.
The location is amazing not a busy area so you can’t hear any traffic and plenty of parking !
Emmy is such a nice manager he assisted me promptly and accommodated me a perfect room. He understands when people have difficulties in their own homes and ensured I was able to use the shower facilities because my one in my property needed repairs.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this Travelodge to anyone in need of accommodation they look after you. Staff members were so helpful and everyone seemed so positive and the atmosphere never made me once uncomfortable so yes, I would definitely be back here!!
Thanks guys keep up the good work 😊😊😊
Overall our stay was OK but there is no aircon in this hotel so if you are staying in the height of summer as we were then do not stay here. It is too hot and the windows barely open. They did give us a fan but this did little to ease the heat.
The service was not great in the BarCafe. We waited over an hour to be served even when it was quiet and no one was clearing away dirty dishes so everyone had to eat with their left over plates cluttered onto the tables.
The shower did not work in one room and nothing was done about this and there was no offer to try and move rooms or to reimburse any costs for this. Staying in excessive heat with no shower for 4 nights is not a very pleasant experience.
The TV did not work in our room and we were told it was a hotel signal issue yet other guests told us their TVs were working fine.
Overall it was convenient but not an experience I would ever want to repeat. There are many hotels in this area and given the cost we paid especially on the Saturday night I would definitely stay in a different hotel if we were to go to this location again.
In the morning after our first night of a two night's stay, we hung the 'please top me up' notice on our door asking to refresh the towels, tea and coffee and to empty the bins. Nevertheless, when we arrived back to our room later in the evening our room had not been replenished. I told the manager that evening and he said sorry without even making eye contact or even asking if we wanted clean towels or offering to sort things out in the morning. The following morning, we still weren’t given clean towels or even contacted to replenish the room.
Secondly, we paid for breakfast for two the night before and I was told we had to be there before 11:00am. However, when we arrived at 09:55am and waited 5 minutes by the 'wait' sign, we were told breakfast had finished at 10:00am. I spoke to the receptionist and explained what had happened and after she had spoken with the manager three times, without him having the courtesy to talk to us at the reception desk personally, so we needed to ask to speak to him. We explained that we were told it closed at 11:00am but he refused to give us a refund and said he would make enquiries and then contact us on its conclusion. It has been exactly a week today and he still hasn't contacted us.
We have paid for breakfast that we didn't receive, the manager was abrupt and clearly didn't believe what we were telling him, and my partner and daughter were very upset by this experience. This meant that our final day in London was ruined as we could not fully enjoy the rest of the day and travelled home extremely unhappy and disappointed that our hard-earned money had been taken for breakfast that we didn't even receive.
The hotel manager, Emy is fantastic, he can’t do enough for you no matter what you ask he delivers. We had a broken shower head and he personally came to fix it within minutes. He is a kind and friendly man and it’s clear that he really cares.
His staff are also great and all friendly and they are all happy to be there.
The location is great to get to central London and the DLR is less than a 5 minute walk away. I would personally recommend this hotel to anyone and is a lot better than other travelodges we have stayed in.
A real gem of a hotel.
