Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars receives accolades for its central location, with guests appreciating the proximity to transportation and attractions, despite some noting noise. The hotel's service is often highlighted as professional and attentive, though not without occasional lapses. The rooms are applauded for their modernity and cleanliness, yet some guests have experienced noise and issues with pre-stay requests.
Travelers have mixed feelings about the value, pointing out reasonable rates alongside costly extras. Cleanliness across the hotel gets high marks, and while the amenities are satisfactory for many, a few visitors find them lacking.

Detailed Reviews
We usually stay at Dukes and the Hyatt Regency Churchill. As this was a new hotel we decided to stay 5 nights during our recent trip to London. My husband is a Globalist with Hyatt, which means we spend considerable time at hotels. Every staff member we encountered was the kind of employee we would hire if we owned a hotel. There was some room for improvement when compared to the Churchill and other 5-star London hotels. Turndown service wasn't consistently provided. When it was provided they just removed any used towels. The bed itself wasn't even turned down. Most hotels also provide chocolate or water and place slippers by the bed. Some will place a small notecard with the expected weather for the following day. As a Globalist, my husband received breakfast and Regency Club access. This was included for me too. But unlike other hotels there is no Regency Club. Instead the Regency Club is rotating access to the lobby bar or one of the restaurants, depending on the day of the week. Some days a small room behind one of the restaurants was opened. This was a weird arrangement. We could never remember where we were supposed to go. The included alcoholic drinks were marginal but the food offering was subpar and not really practical or in keeping with basic expectations. Staff were very apologetic as it seemed like many guests complain about the offering. Restaurant hours were limited too. One night we couldn't get a drink or get food at 8 PM outside of the basement bar that felt more like a night club than a hotel restaurant suitable for mature adults. We probably won't return because the Regency Club offering was bad and the overall experience wasn't competitive with other similarly priced and positioned hotels. My husband said he might return if traveling by himself for work.

The Hyatt Regency at Blackfriars is sparkly new and in a prime location for a London visit. You're just steps from the Thames, across the street from the Blackfriars Tube stop, and right between the City and Westminster. Staff were uniformly great, and the facilities were outstanding.

The Blackfriars train station and tube stop is a wonderful location for travel throughout London and also a direct link to Gatwick airport. Physically, the hotel is luxurious and brand spanking new. We were a family of three and able to accommodate a third adult child with a rollaway bed for 50 pounds, which is a bargain, compared to a second room. The brunch, which is offered free to elite members is delicious and conveniently available. concierge and restaurant staff are extremely efficient. Friendly and courteous couldn’t have asked for a better four night stay in London!

I arrived pretty late and the welcoming was pretty standard compared to a 3 star hotel. I checked in to my room and it did not even have a toothbrush or paste. I called the service and reception but no one picked my call. However, in the morning I called again and the housekeeping team provided me with what was needed. Room was pretty big but that's it. I would not expect a very basic service and basic reception for a 5 star hotel. Also, location wise it was very close to Blackfriars station and i was expecting a nice view from the hotel but the room i got has a very poor view, a building in front of me.I paid £400 a night without breakfast and my overall experience was pretty basic. I have stayed in boutique hotels in other european countries (st.Moritz, Zermatt etc.) and also in different parts of the UK but the services and hospitality was a lot better.

The hotel is fairly modern and the rooms are a reasonable size for London. Cleanliness was average; an entire missing wall bottle of conditioner suggested the cleaning staff may be rushed. Wifi was fast and reliable. Did not try the breakfast at the hotel.
The location is convenient in terms of being directly across from a busy tube stop, which allows access to most London sights. Otherwise, however, the immediate area is mostly a business district so there aren't many bakeries, restaurants, etc close by and the side streets can be quite empty at night.
The close location to the tube meant that our first floor room had a slight rumble every few minutes. While there was little street noise, there was substantial noise from other rooms in terms of scraping chairs, cleaning staff talking, etc. that can affect sleep. Unsure if some of that was from the restaurant below--would ask for a higher floor room.

We LOVED our time at the Hyatt Regency. When we visited it had only been open for 2-3 weeks and didn't have many guests yet. It was very quiet and we often felt like we had the hotel to ourselves. Although we don't have Hyatt status, I am a World of Hyatt member and booked our stay with points. When we arrived we were complimentary upgraded to a club room which came with a larger space and free breakfast/evening canapes. The breakfast buffet was incredible and featured traditional English breakfast fare as well as fresh meats, cheese, fruits, smoothies, baked goods, and oatmeals. The staff were so kind and thoughtful! My husband and I were celebrating our 4th anniversary on this trip and when we arrived to our room after check-in there was a delicious cake with a "Happy Anniversary" decoration and two forks waiting for us. On the second day, there were fresh flowers with a note left for us. The location of this hotel was also incredible. You are steps away from the Blackfriars line and within 5-10 mins walking distance to many other lines. I would highly recommend the Blackfriars to anyone considering a stay there!

Exceptional service at this hotel. Very convenient location near Blackfriars Tube/Rail station, multiple bus lines into Covent Garden/Trafalgar Square, etc. Lots of restaurants, pubs, and grocery chains nearby as well. The hotel staff are not only polite but very helpful, even bringing up food delivery orders to the room and making sure that all needs are attended to. The only constructive piece of feedback for this hotel is that they need to improve the quality of their pillows. Otherwise, an exceptional overall experience and would gladly stay here again.

+1
We stayed here just for one night en route to South Africa. But it was a marvelous stay, in part because of the lovely gesture that the staff made for my daughters' birthday!
I am a Globalist, so the concierge had contacted me in advance to inquire about any special requests. I shared that we were arriving on the day of my twin daughters' birthday, and that it would be wonderful if they could put a note or treat in the room acknowledging their special day.
Getting to the hotel from Heathrow Airport was very easy - we took the new Elizabeth Tube line to Farringdon station and walked to the hotel. We meant to take a taxi, but we emerged from the train station directly onto the street and did not see any taxis around. It was a beautiful day and we had rolling suitcases, so we just decided to walk. It was around 10 minutes, if I recall correctly.
We had two rooms reserved, and when we arrived at around noon, only one room was ready. That was fine so we went to the room to drop off our bags.
When we opened the door, we all gasped in delight. The windows were decorated with balloons spelling out HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and the room was filled with additional balloons. There was a message written on the mirror with silver butterflies, dessert on the table, and a lovely note from the staff. The staff really went above and beyond to make my daughters feel celebrated. What a festive and warm welcome!
We picked the hotel because of its proximity to the Tate Modern and The Globe Theatre, both of which we planned to visit before our evening flight the following day. But on that first day, we were planning to go to the theatre and then dinner at the Wolseley. It was a quick taxi ride to the theatre, but after dinner we decided to take the Tube from St. James to Blackfriars. It was very easy and speedy. It is so convenient to have the Tube station right across the street from the hotel.
In the morning, we decided to walk along the river to see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. It was a very pleasant walk. We crossed the bridge and went on the London Eye as well, before walking back down the river to the Tate Modern.
Breakfast at the hotel was fantastic. It was a buffet of fruits, cheeses, pastries, etc. as well as an array of hot items like scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, etc. The dining room was sunny and lively. A terrific start to a busy day.
We have stayed at a few other Hyatt properties in London (Churchill, Andaz Liverpool, Flemings Mayfair) and this one stood out to us. It was a truly wonderful stay and we will definitely try to come back on our next trip to London!

From check-in to housekeeping and food/beverage service, Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars delivered spectacularly. The hotel was located perfectly just across the street from Blackfriars Underground and Rail station (one of the nicer and cleaner stations in the city), and the hotel rooms and public areas were well maintained and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and responsive to requests, and always willing to lend assistance or guidance. I stayed for 6 nights with my family and the experience was very enjoyable.

Great Hyatt property conveniently located across the street from Blackfriars Tube stop. Modern large room. Comfy USA size King bed with mixed pillows (firm, med, and soft). Giant 65 inch TV. Bathroom has rain shower. Good size wardrobe. My room did face other buildings but the sheer curtains allowed natural light with privacy kept intact. Nice fitness room. Buffet breakfast was ok but expensive. Tesso market next door for groceries, Many electric rental bikes outside hotel to get around city (London is a bike friendly city and sometimes faster than the tube to get around).
Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Yes, the modified lounge (in July) was the coffee shop on the ground floor. It was nice, and in the evening they had cocktails and nice high tea service. I haven't been back since July, but it was fantastic then.
