The Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge garners mixed feelings from its guests. While many appreciate the hotel's pristine rooms, stunning views, and generous space, some have voiced concerns over maintenance and noise issues. The atmosphere is generally considered welcoming, with modern touches that resonate well, although there are suggestions for improvement.
Despite the praise for its prime location and standout amenities like the spa and extensive breakfast, the value for money is questioned by guests who expect more for the price. Service shines through, with staff members receiving accolades for their warmth and efficiency.

We reviewed alot of hotels and chose the Leonardo Royal Tower because of price, location and the pool spa facilities.
We booked an executive double, were warmly welcomed and asked for high floor room, we were already given a room on 12th floor in a large corner -huge room with lovely views over tower bridge, tower of london and shard, pretty at night illuminated.
Room was spacious, kingbed which was super comfy, two fab pillows each. Nice fluffy towels, huge bathroom, heated mirror, toiletries.
Nice nespresso machine with pods, complimentary water, also kettle tea, coffee, milk etc. Iron and board, trouser press and hairdryer. Payable minibar, big wall tv. Room was very quiet too, no noise heard from other guests.
Breakfast was lovely, lots choice and I could get gluten free toast as have an intolerance. Only thing I didnt like was orange juice, it was watery but coffee was very good.
Staff were very polite and helpful. The pool area was also good, long pool, plenty space to swim. Sauna, steam room jacuzzi and foot spa area. Changing rooms were good too, clean, spacious and lockers where get key from spa reception.
Location was a 5min walk from underground (circle/district line). The other leonardo city hotel was more expensive but in same block as underground, the short walk here was fine and safe. Tesco Express and CO-OP shops were near and a wetherspoons pub opposite. In all, a super hotel for our 3 night stay, would highly recommend.
Lots nice restaurants within walking distance, we went to st katherine docks for restaurants and some near tower london and also in the city near theatres.

This is a lovely welcoming hotel. We arrived early and our room was available immediately - check in was easy and they gave us little welcome packs for the children. The room was perfect for our family with two queen beds, it was really clean and tidy - there is some discolouration on the shower but I find this is normal in hotels. They also have a bath and shower which is amazing with small children. Tea and coffee available and asked for more which was delivered to our room within 5 minutes. The spa is great to relax in after a long busy day in London (children are allowed in most of the weekend) but it can get busy.
The breakfast was my favourite of the stay, loads of choice and the opportunity to order off a menu for certain items - they are always checking the food to make sure it’s warm and filled up and lots of staff around to clear dirty plates. Great to be able to help yourself to a range of coffee and tea.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and would definitely return if back in London

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and enjoyed a lovely corner room on the 12th floor overlooking The Shard. The room was an excellent size particularly for London and the bathroom had both a bath and walk in shower (with jets) which was also a great size. It was well furbished and extremely clean. The bed was also super comfy with a choice of pillows which was great. We had dinner in the hotel on one evening and had a really lovely meal. The choice at breakfast was good too and as one would expect at a 4star hotel with a chef available to cook eggs freshly (although I would recommend getting there well before the cut off time of 10am as it means just that!). However, for us the real highlight was the gym and pool area. Having a 25m pool is very unusual and the gym was extremely well equipped with up to date machines including free weights, bars and even a power plate machine. The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were also brilliant and the changing rooms spacious and always very clean.
It was also located in a great position about a 6 minute walk from both Tower Gateway with access to the DLR and Tower Hill Underground station. The hotel was also only a short walk from St Katherines Dock marina which makes for a lovely walk and of course superbly positioned for the Tower of London. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and compliments must go also to the staff - and in particular, head Concierge - Mircin, for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Booked this for my partners birthday as we love going to spa hotels. Unfortunately the spa was disappointing. The hot tub was luke warm at best, the sauna became “out of order” while we were using the steam room and the waterfall shower was either scalding or ice cold. We used the steam room for about 20minutes then went back to our room.
If you’re booking this hotel to be close to a Tower Bridge/Tower of London then it is in a fantastic location (you could see both from our room on the 13th floor). However if you are booking because you just want a spa break, I would suggest booking somewhere else.
Also, at the bar we ordered a Pimms and were literally just served a measure of Pimms, so we had to ask for a lemonade and a slice of lemon. Never before have I had to ask for lemonade to be added, and without the fruits/cucumber it was pretty disappointing.
I told the hotel I was booking for my partners birthday and wondered if I could have something in the room. I was offered a complimentary slice of cake, and attached was a list of things I could purchase. I said the slice of cake would be lovely, and would also like to pay for a small helium balloon (£10). We got to the room and there was only the balloon. So it seems if you pay for something off of the list, you give up the complimentary slice of cake which seems odd to me if you pay for something extra you lose out on the complimentary option. Surely it would make more sense to say if you pay for one of the items you can have a complimentary slice of cake. I felt let down by that.
The window cleaners came at 10am, not mention of this at reception when we checked in. All it would’ve taken is to say “by the way the window cleaners will be around tomorrow morning so please be aware”
Bed was comfortable. Had to turn off the air con because it’s quite noisy

As very few hotels in London are currently open it wasn't a surprise to find a queue waiting to check in however, there were three desks open and the process was well organised.
Our room was big enough and had two large double beds It was clean and well presented. The bathroom was spacious, bright and clean. The shower was great.
We did, however, ask for our room to be serviced daily and, on the first day, this didn't happen. When we returned to the hotel in the evening we spoke to a colleague on Reception. Samir, who apologised, took a note of the room number and offered to organise a clean up immediately - we declined - and he promised it would be done the following day. He gave us supplies of coffee, milk, sugar etc. and also a card for a free drink in the bar as part of the apology. Given that several of the hotels we viewed before booking were not entering the guest bedrooms at all, we were very happy with the way he handled the situation.
The Hotel is not currently offering a hot breakfast service as the restaurant is closed and we did not book the breakfast bags. There is another hotel about 5 minutes walk away that has a separate restaurant, which is open, so we took a short walk around the corner each morning. It really was no great inconvenience.
The location is fine. Although it is not adjacent to a tube station, Aldgate and Tower Hill stations are less than 15 minutes walk away.
Given the strange world we are currently living in we were pleased with the hotel, service, location. They are doing a good job in very strange circumstances.

We stayed in a family room with twin double beds and other family members had a large double room. Both rooms were clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms had a walk in shower and a separate bath. I had no complaints with the rooms and cost. The staff were friendly and helpful, there is a gym and spa at the hotel but I didn’t use them. The bar area isn’t very large but there is an ok selection of drinks. It is in a good location about 5 minutes walk from Tower Hill Underground Station, 10 minutes from the Tower of London. The only downside was the £23 cost of breakfast, which I think is incredibly expensive and why we didn’t use it as there is a Wetherspoons next door and breakfast for 4 came in for £25!

I'm currently staying in the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge hotel, I booked a Executive King room with a picture of a lovely view stating it had a view.. also reading that rooms were subject to availability understanding the picture might not be the exact room but upon early arrival we were greeted well and told if we wanted to check in early it was an additional cost of £40 which is fair but taking in to consideration I've already paid 450+ for 2 nights in this room. we checked into our room with a terrible view of the back of the other side of the building and some back gardens down below with no city view.. there was chewing gum on the floor just sat right in the middle.. like anywhere but the middle, a hair in the bath and some hair in the bed. overall disappointed with the city view. i wouldn't of been bothered about the rest if i had a city view. complained to the reception and there was not even an apology about the chewing gum or anything in the room and we were told to ask again at 3pm if we could have a new room but was told we could not be promised anything and they sent a maiden to our room and she didn't even pick up the chewing gum she just cleaned the hairs out of the bath. Planned and paid a lot of money to bring my girlfriend to London for the first time and we received a terrible view for the price. I would of settled for a single bed with a city view instead of this king bed with no view.
Pool was nice though.

We stayed here earlier this week and left feeling pretty underwhelmed. The main entrance and lobby were nice, and the staff were welcoming. The exec room was spacious, well decorated and had a beautiful view. However, it all went down-hill from there to be honest.
The details you’d expect from a mid to high-end hotel just weren’t up to scratch. Lack of amenities – bring your own toothbrush/tooth paste if you plan on staying here. The mood-setting lounge lamp was not working. The sheets had something which resembled dry blood on it (See picture attached). Very loud at night – my partner and I really struggled to get a good night’s sleep. our room was sandwiched between a room having a party on one side, and another playing loud music till late. I understand that it’s very difficult to control customers, but perhaps a little more could be done to ensure guests get a decent sleep. Better sound proofing on the walls is a steep ask, but at least some earbuds to block out some noise.
The gym was okay. Equipment seemed old but got the job done. However, an annoying lack of cleaning equipment left guests pacing up and down to find a wipe for the benches. Perhaps more dedicated cleaning stations which are regularly topped up would help this (The wipes just ran out so no one was able to clean up after themselves).
Overall, not too impressed with our stay.

The room was huge versus a normal hotel in London. The bed was King size with a good area with two sofás and a desk. Internet has a great band width. The wardrove a Little small as well as the TV screen (32-37") mainly for the distance between the bed and the screen. The preasure on the shower was amazing, and also the bathroom has an independent shower from the bathtube.
The hotel is modern, wirh very good conections with the Tube and DLR at a very short walk.

It got off to a rocky start when going through the online check in process. During this process I was given an option for early check at a cost of £15. I paid however the following day I was charged £66.66 for the room which was already pre paid through hotels.com. I was straight on to hotels.com and they in turn spoke with the hotel who sent their apologies and issued a refund. However the following day I got another charge for £66.66. Again I called hotels.com and they spoke to the hotel who confirmed this was an IT issue their end and promptly issued the refund. Not being pleased with this I decided to call the hotel direct to share my complaint. I spoke to the duty manager George who was full of apologies and even offered a free upgrade to the executive suites as well as a breakfast coupon. He was a pleasant man and is a real credit to the hotel.
On check in we were given the room straightaway. The room was a decent size and had great views of the city. The only small issue for us was that the room wasn’t completely clean. There was empty tablet containers under the curtain and empty sugar packets left in the jar. This wasn’t a huge issue for us so we didn’t mention anything however when we got back from our day trips the hot water wasn’t working which was massively inconvenient after a long day. Reception was happy to move us to another room and more apologies given.
Overall we did like the rooms and location. For value you can’t really beat the prices and I would 100% return. We definitely recommend the executive rooms on the higher floor for the views.
