Just back home in Scotland after another great time in Blackpool. As a family of 5 the large family rooms have always been perfect for us. This was about our 4th or 5th time staying here. The rooms are fab with everything you need, our kids enjoy looking out of the window into the Pleasure Beach. The hotel is always clean, the breakfast is excellent with lots of choice and the restaurant in the evenings is excellent. Parking is reasonable and we enjoy the location of the hotel. Close to a tram stop but also fine to walk into the centre if you want to stretch your legs. It’s the measure of a good hotel when you see some same faces each time you visit. A special mention to Seyhmus in the restaurant and also to the young restaurant supervisor (Billie?) who looked after us. Our kids are growing fast and so we are pleased that from speaking to reception the hotel can do interconnecting rooms. We will probably look at this option for next time.

Stayed here with my family and first impressions of the hotel was WOW . Check in was super easy and greeted with a warm welcome from the lovely receptionists . Couldn’t get over the fact how spotlessly clean the place was . We entered the bedroom and found a little alcove with 2 bunk beds and 2 tvs ( a little bit of privacy for the parents ), a huge big bed & bathroom with a power shower which was presented lovely , Teas and coffees - plenty of them . The room was immaculately clean. Not a spot of dust anywhere ! All the staff that we came across from Room attendants to reception to restaurant were all lovely and polite and couldn’t do enough for us . I wondered if the people commenting below me have stayed in the same hotel !!! We have visited the pleasure beach so we couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel for an evening meal which was mouthwatering . We had beef stroganoff , pork belly and chicken breast . All cooked to perfection. Tram and bus stop is just across the road . So easy to get to town and not worry about parking your car . We even went to Fleetwood on the tram. We haven’t used the car park but seems big enough - so cannot commenting on that . I can honestly say, we cannot wait to come back again . We all loved it. Thank you Big Blue x

Fantastic Hotel. Superb rooms spacious and modern. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. There were 15 of us who met to celebrate a school reunion. After 52 years. We all came from all over the country. Massively impressed with everything at very reasonable prices.

Lovely looking hotel, family room is fantastic for kids. Our bathroom was a disaster the extractors fan wasn’t working so it was a damp all the time, the shower screen didn’t fit so we landed up flooding the floor every shower. Staff were all very helpful at all times. The cleaner didn’t even let us check out and she was in wanting to see when we’d be gone!! Then the breakfast for classing itself as a 4* the breakfast was basic fry up or very little continental no cold meats or cheese. My biggest pet hate is kids all over the place serving themselves when the place is busy. I take half of them wouldn’t do half that at home. I do trace with kids and yes the sit and we get. It’s situated at the pleasure beach and trams stop is easy accessible. Parking well here’s the thing £15 a night is a massive rip off no discount for guests or guaranteed space. That’s Blackpool parking though.

I do like the big blue and have been several times before but this time I did feel a few things weren’t as good! 1) Rooms weren’t serviced/cleaned daily. Previously when we’ve been our towels were changed daily, bins were emptied, beds were made and we were given fresh cups/tea bags to make a drink. This time we were informed there was no room service and if we wanted towels changed/bins emptied or even toilet rolls we’d have to ask! For the price we paid it’s a little demeaning to have to go to reception to ask for toilet roll and clean towels!! When we asked for clean cups we were told to clean our existing ones in the sink - delightful! 2) Room service - weve always been able to order food/drinks to the room for a charge which we’ve always been happy to pay. This time we were informed we could only have room service IF we booked the day before. Room service has always been a last minute convenience thing for us when we’re tired after a long day. Seems a little crazy to know the day before if your going to want it or not. 3) Parking charges - previously we paid around £5 per day which is acceptable. This time round it was £45 for 3 days parking. Seemed very excessive! 4) Rooms are noisy! Could hear everything but I suppose that’s not any different to any other time? There was the usual good points such as a friendly staff in the bar/dining area but I do feel this stay was a bit of a let down compared to previous stays (and yet still as expensive!). Hopefully the owners will sort this out.
