Ok here goes, we booked to stay at the village in Blackpool for one night as we were there to see Greyson Perry , I had previously stayed at this hotel some years ago and found it to be of a very good standard , I didn’t feel this time that I was getting the same first class standard for my £160 a night cost and have stayed at better travel lodges !!! The hotel is looking very tired ! The decor along the corridors is depressing ! And the carpets need replacing We were in room 327 the window did not close and it looks out into a square roof top so all there is to see is windows of it here rooms ! The room itself was very dark there were 4 lamps as well as the main light and still you felt it was nighttime during the day !! I struggled to get the shower working and when I did it was very hot, to hit for me to enjoy a shower . We had ordered breakfast and the usual breakfast hall was closed so we’re in a conference room at the back of the hotel, when we arrived there was a massive queue !! (£160 a night I don’t expect to queue to be seated let alone serve myself ) there was at this point just one lad showing people to tables and having to clear tables he said they had had an unexpected amount of bookings for breakfast and that’s why there wasn’t many staff on. Either way we were seated and left! We gathered that it was a help yourself , tea and coffee from an urn on a table !! I expect my coffee and my breakfast order to be taken at my table ! We then had to queue for our breakfast. Breakfast was less than average a bit bland , watery scrambled egg (no fried eggs) the sausage tasted cheap as did the beans ! Over all I wished we hadn’t bothered booking breakfast and gone into town instead a whether spoons breakfast is 100% better ! I wouldn’t stay here again that’s for sure, we have paid less for the Hilton and the big blue which we’re both of a much higher standard, the WiFi also didn’t work I always like to find some positives with my reviews so here goes. The mattress was very comfortable I actually want one ! There were tea and coffee facilities in the room also an iron and ironing board The hotel provide toiletries which smelled ok . The room was spacious . No I wouldn’t return there are nicer hotels closer to the action , with much higher standards .

We're to begin we arrived at the hotel around 6pm after crazy traffic on the motorway to be met by a rude member of staff as I was having problems checking in on my phone. So start put a downer to the start of our stay the hotel room was dirty and I mean blinds dirty with dust carpet disgusting covered with dirt and holes In! The room obviously hadn't been cleaned well either because the previous guests dirty bikini was also left behind! The sink was full of hairs and if you like hot water then this room was great because the tap would only turn hot hotter or scalding! So getting a bath or showers you might aswell suffered 3rd degree burns! The restaurant/pub the service was shocking and not enough staff to be told after waiting at the bar for 20 minutes that my drinks would be brought over which they never was my husband had to go See what was going on after waiting another 20 minutes! Absolute joke!!! Then there was breakfast the norbeck castle even provides a better breakfast than here cheap burnt produce! Rude serving staff telling you how much you can have of something! I think you wouldn't even be paid to stay here again and will be telling everyone I know and see of the poor disgusting service I was treated to when I stayed!

Such a disappointment. We’ve stayed here years before and always raved about it. It’s NOT family friendly at all. The swimming pool has selected time for kids which is restricted. The main restaurant closed down so there is only a bar/grill. It is FULL of golf days and drinkers, not a good family environment at all. The bar is unbelievably slow. You could wait in excess of 30mins to get a drink. Even when quiet. It’s obvious the staff don’t want to be serving. The menu at the grill is rubbish. Not nearly enough choices. The rooms are gross. So unclean. And none of the rooms have soft close doors so ALL night all you can hear is the slamming of doors from other rooms. Avoid like the plague!

Didn’t even get to stay, unfortunately tested positive for covid this morning and they are still going to charge me full rate for a no show!! I shouldn’t have told them and spread it through their hotel. £250! How can they do this, it’s so unfair! I don’t mind a small fee but full price! SMH

We had a lovely weekend here. After reading the reviews l was a bit apprehensive but l shouldn’t have been. The hotel is set in lovely grounds. The hotel itself was very clean. Room was great over looking the heated outside pool. The grill food was to be fair no worse than many places that offer a fast food menu. Breakfast was good 👍🏼 plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna and steam rooms were excellent. If your looking for a break in comfortable relaxing surroundings this is the place. Don’t listen to the negative reviews give this place a go l’m glad we did. Senior general manager - Stuart Davies has excellent customer service and communication skills.
