The hotel itself is in a beautiful idyllic location and the hotel staff were ok in their welcoming, though the lady that showed us to our room looked like she was tired of working there. As for the room we had a very well presented and clean double room with a lovely view, however i couldnt shake the feeling it was HUGELY overpriced. £194 for 1 night was extortionate for what we got. Along with constant noise and shouting throughout the night which lead to very little sleep from myself and my partner. Considering it was in a very quiet location, we were kept awake till 3 in the morning with people laughing, running up and down corridors and shouting. We added breakfast on to our room, however i assumed the premium price was for having a hot cooked breakfast. I had a packet of rice crispies and a glass of apple juice, £15... £15!!! Left absolutely fuming and left ua with a very bitter taste to the visit, aswell as our gripes over the noise and price in general. Lovely hotel, prices are way over the top for what you get.

The key is in the heading. This place is advertised as very dog friendly and we took it at its word and were not disappointed in that respect.. We were given a room with direct access to outdoors and the grounds are excellent for dog exercising. The room and the bed in particular were extremely comfortable and the bathroom modern and clean but the bath (which was the base of the shower) drained extremely slowly and that as always was a real turn off. Added to that, the decor of the room was drab and dingy which we felt was inappropriate given the lack of sun light available. In particular it was very difficult to see anything in the wardrobes because of the lack of light. The food was sensational but very few of the staff were wearing masks and one in particular was clearly suffering from something bronchial which made us feel uncomfortable when he attended to us. We stayed very shortly after the Omricon panic started and while there was a notice stating that staff were not required to wear masks, we think all the guests would’ve felt more comfortable if they had done. So all in all nearly perfect - but not quite.

Wonderful Cream Tea and stay over. The Grounds are fabulous and the staff are very very friendly. This is not the cheapest in the area but you get what you pay for. Cocktails amazing and the food is very well executed.

Extremely good. Nice rooms, great food, lovely gardens and woods descending to lake, friendly staff and great for dogs. This hotel had none of the issues that a similarly priced hotel we stayed at a month previously had. The most serious negative we could find was that one of the bird feeders was sometimes empty!

We have just returned from our wedding at Cragwood. From start to finish, it was the most perfect experience. The staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We had 2 poorly children and they were absolutely amazing, checking they were okay. The food was out of this world. To have 10 adults with not one complaint is unheard of. It was by far the best food any of us have ever eaten. From dinners on both evenings, breakfast both days and afternoon tea after the ceremony, it was all perfect- credit to the chef. The rooms were beautiful, we stayed in the bridal suite and it was absolutely perfect. So comfy and amazing views. They really have thought about everything here, even the kids got a little cragwood bear in their bed/cot. Thank you so much for making our weekend one to never forget, we couldn't have asked for any better. We are definitely booking for our anniversary. Special thanks to Hannah and Chris and the bar man (so sorry, I didn't catch his name.) We honestly wouldn't change single thing. Thank again, Mr and Mrs Webb xx
