Property's Favourite Review
Just returned home from an amazing 3 night break at st johns lodge. The owner Rich is very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for his guests. My husband is vegan and he accommodated his breakfast well even went and got additional items for him. Breakfast was gorgeous and their a varied choice for all tastes. St johns lodge is kept immaculately clean both walkways and bedroom. The bedroom has miniature toiletries to meet every need, a mini fridge sparkling and still water, tea and coffee facilities and hairdryer. I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking on a stay in the Lake District. You have the added bonus of the health club for free includes swimming and gym. The guest house is located between pretty bowness and windermere up the hill and has good walks nearby which the owner can give information on. Looking forward to going the lake’s again and would definitely stay here

From start to finish, can't fault St John's Lodge. Loved being able to check in early around 11.30am. Most places you can't check in until around 3pm. Great welcome by the owner who gave us some good information. We had Room 1, small double with garden view. Cannot fault it. Was beautifully decorated, with lots of little touches. They have thought of everything. Complimentary toiletries, cotton wool balls/buds, tissues, hairdryer, tea/coffee, fresh milk in a mini fridge, wine glasses, bottle opener, bedside clock. There is an 'honesty bar' in the main lounge, help yourself, write what you have taken and pay at the end. Breakfast was fantastic in another gorgeous room. Never seen a breakfast menu with so many choices. Wonderful friendly staff. We used the FREE facilities on offer, at the off site swimming pool/spa/gym. Went twice. This is around a 5 minute drive on the main road towards Ambleside, well worth it. Free parking there, just enter your car reg on the machine inside the building on entry. (this was actually the main reason we chose the Lodge, as we wanted somewhere with a pool, but couldn't afford the prices of the large hotels). As previous reviewer has said the St.Johns is in a great location, with 3 parking spaces in front, and 4 others almost across the road. We ate at The Pig and Brown Sugar, both in Windermere, and also at The Westmorland Inn, Bowness. Recommend all, as well as drinks at Baha (and a boogie), and Bodega Bar. We would highly recommend St.John's Lodge to anyone, and will certainly stay here again. Thanks to all the team for a wonderful stay.

This unassuming little gem 💎 is now on our definitely return list the room was really well presented and well put together with the towels left on the bed shaped as swans and a big private bathroom in the room it was fresh bright and clean and a super king size bed bed made it perfect, the staff were lovely and polite and the breakfast was delicious with a big selection and the location was a 10 minute walk between two villages in either direction with plenty to do in both so to sum up in a word …. Amazing
