Stayed here with my hubby two nights over October half term. The room ( helm crag) really pretty. With views on both sides of room. On main road but we were not disturbed by it at all. It was quiet. Hosts lovely and friendly. Relaxed atmosphere and all rooms finished to a very high standard. Breakfast lovely too. We will definitely go back.
2 nights in the Helm Crag room. A very friendly reception awaits and the parking is easy. The Helm Crag room is at the top of the house. It looks like it’s been recently and extensively revamped. It’s immaculate as is the entire guesthouse. The bathroom is very stylish with an excellent shower as well as a roll top bath. The bed and bedding was so comfortable. Very quiet too. It has the amenities you could possibly need with lots of storage. Super comfortable with lovely views. Breakfast is lovely with an extensive choice of lovely items. The owners are so friendly and hospitable. They have clearly worked hard on their product / offering and it shows. Chestnut Villa is located 10 mins walk into the village. Thoroughly recommended by us!
Located on the edge of Grasmere, it is the perfect location to break up your Coast to Coast walk - only a short distance to rejoin the trail the following day. Comfortable bed and a lovely shower, and welcoming hosts. The B&B also has a drying room for wet gear, which managed to dry my water logged boots overnight.
Chestnut Villa is the ideal place to stay when visiting Grasmere. Mike and his Mum are warm hosts who welcome you with a smile and are on hand to give helpful local advice every step of the way. Our room (Helm Crag at the top of the house) was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Great views front and back, also. The bathroom and shower are plush with a lovely stand-alone bath. Breakfast is prepared to order, plentiful and delicious. Given its ideal location just 10 mins stroll from the centre of the village, there really is no reason to look to stay elsewhere. Highly recommended. Mikes recently opened Freda and Ray cafe in Grasmere is also well worth a visit for coffee, cake and something light to eat.
Lovely B and B , very clean and friendly , lovely breakfast and a great position for looking around Grasmere. The only thing they couldn't fix was the weather ! Thoroughly recommended . Also recommend their cafe in town the Freda and Ray great coffee and food
