Staff lovely, rooms dirty and not well maintained... breakfast awful, fresh hot food mixed with old cold food.. walls of hotel thin, didn't get much sleep hearing everyone arounds antics... car park was a pain too to park and purchase a ticket

Subject: Complaint: Extremely Poor Service and Lack of Parking Availability at Travel Lodge Dear Travel Lodge Customer Service, I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding my recent attempted stay at your establishment, which unfortunately turned out to be a highly unpleasant experience. The purpose of this email is to outline the series of unfortunate events that occurred during my visit and request a full refund for the subpar service I received. My parents and I had made a reservation at your Travel Lodge located in Royal Tunbridge Wells for the Saturday, on 27th May too. Our plans were to enjoy a relaxing weekend getaway, exploring the local attractions and enjoying the amenities your establishment had to offer. Regrettably, our experience was far from the enjoyable and stress-free experience we had anticipated. Upon our arrival, we were dismayed to find that the car park was completely full. As paying guests, we expected to have access to a parking space, as this is a basic necessity for any hotel. We attempted to address this issue by approaching the reception desk in order to inquire about alternative parking options in the vicinity. However, the receptionist we encountered was shockingly rude and dismissive. Not only did the receptionist fail to offer any assistance or solutions to our parking dilemma, but they also displayed a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. Their behavior was not only unhelpful but also offensive, leaving us feeling undervalued as customers. This negative encounter with your receptionist greatly impacted our overall impression of your establishment and ultimately spoiled our trip. Feeling incredibly frustrated and disheartened by the lack of parking availability and the rude treatment we received, we made the unfortunate decision to abandon our plans and drive back home. This unexpected turn of events resulted in the complete ruin of our weekend plans and left us feeling deeply dissatisfied with the level of service provided by Travel Lodge. Considering the inconvenience, stress, and disappointment caused by this ordeal, I believe it is only fair to request a full refund for our stay. We had paid a considerable amount of money for our reservation, expecting a pleasant and hassle-free experience, but instead, we were met with disappointment and rudeness. We genuinely feel that our weekend was ruined due to the poor service we encountered at your establishment.

This hotel is bad even by Travelodge standards. Staff unhelpful, rooms unclean and in need of a refurb. The food was terrible and served cold. Parking spaces are limited and even though we pre paid for parking for the week there were no spaces available, when asking staff they said " unlucky,it happens a lot, sorry" I have stayed in a few other Travelodge hotels and this is by far the worse.

We stayed overnight here as we were guests at a wedding at the Beacon down the road. Close by and good value for money if you are looking for somewhere just to sleep for a night. Basic but the cheapest hotel around this location.

Beautiful building that needs some care. Very basic. Staff helpful. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Delicious coffee and whole meal bread. Creaking and banging windows. Spiders sharing my bathroom.

Herbie and Zoe at reception were very kind trying to accommodate me as best as possible considering the hotel was fully booked and not a lot of rooms were available. Great location right near Tunbridge Wells center

Stayed here for two nights . Previously lived in Tunbridge Wells for many years so knew of the hotel as it was then , the Wellington . As it dates back to the 1800s the hotel has had to keep all of its old features which makes it more interesting / nicer than a modern staid Travelodge . The rooms are basic but huge . I would try and get a room at the back ( unless you want the view of the common ) or high floor as there is quite a bit of noise from rooms above . The location is fab . 15 mins downhill to the Pantiles , and High street . Easy to access from the common . Easy ti access what is left of the Royal Victoria place post covid ( sad ) . I love Tunbridge Wells and this is half the price of the Spa and a few minutes walk from that hotel . Thumbs up from me .

Nobody there to greet us or check us in, we arrived at 3pm, checking in time. Shower was cold, then scolding hot for 0.5 seconds then cold then scolding hot. We were going to a wedding, no time to be faffing about complaining to - you guessed it - no-one as there was no-one about. Nobody around when we left either to ask how our stay way. Toilet door had no catch, let alone a lock, toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. I know it was cheap, but come on, the standard wasn't good enough

The premises were built in 1873 as a terrace of 8 houses, which were converted to a hotel in 1876. It is a grade II listed building. But... 1. There is limited parking space at the hotel. Prepayment is required. The staff warned us that if we go out, there may not be parking space when we return later in the day. There is no other parking space near by. 2. The carpet in our room was stained and faded. 3. The floor boards were very noisy/squeaky throughout. 4. The kettle could not be safely placed on the work surface because the lead was very short and the sockets were behind the TV. The only alternative was to boil the kettle on the floor beside the bed. 5. There was only one chair. Our request for a another chair was refused. Overall, the hotel could be better.
