I came here with my boyfriend, brother and his wife and my mum and dad as we were attending a wedding. By far the greatest place we have ever stayed away from home. Danehurst house has such lovely added extras and things like their breakfast choices, soaps, towels, bedding make them so much better than anywhere else we have ever stayed. The cooked breakfast was delicious. Angela makes her own bread which is delicious. The cereal options were great, Angela’s home made muesli was my mums favourite. We stayed in the Rose suite which was absolutely perfect. The shower was lovely, the lounge area was comfortable and spacious. Most of all, Angela and Mike were great hosts, they really make you feel at home. We will be making an excuse to return in the near future!
We stayed for a week at Danehurst House at the end of June. It was a great location for exploring the many great houses and gardens in the area. Our host were charming and friendly with nothing too much trouble. Our room was spotlessly clean and dressed beautifully with top quality toiletries in the shower room. Attention to detail was really great. Breakfast was outstanding. There was a guest sitting room and a patio area in the garden which was relaxing on the hot summer days.
Mike and Angela were the perfect hosts welcoming us into their beautifully furnished and comprehensively equipped home. The attention to detail is incredible; the toiletries top class, the room equipped with coffee machine, fridge and kettle with full range of coffee and tea, fresh bottles of water daily. Breakfasts were cooked to order and were delicious. A very comfortable drawing room is available to guests. Looking forward to next visit!
This outstanding b&b deserves all the great reviews. The rooms were beautifully presented with everything you need for a relaxing time. Plenty of space, an extensive breakfast, and hosts who take good care of you.
We stayed 2 nights in the Peony suite, which was very comfortable. A very nice B&B, but be aware you will need a car/taxi as there are not a lot of walking options nearby for your evening meal. The Toad Rock Retreat restaurant which is supposedly nearby was closed for a week for staff holiday. Nice options were found in town and at The Hare. Angela and Mike, the hosts, will provide suggestions for taxis, restaurants, and sights. We visited Knole, Igtham Mote, and Penshurst Place while in the area. Loud partying from a neighboring home or B&B very late on our first night was the only major issue we encountered.
Lovely 3-night break at Danehurst House recently. Breakfasts were delicious, beautiful bedroom/suite and an exceptionally comfy bed. Angela and Mike were extremely friendly and welcoming and their Guest House is ideally placed for visiting many National Trust properties; including Churchill's Chartwell, Rudyard Kipling's house, Bateman's, and fabulous Scotney Castle & Bodiam Castle.
It's easy to see why Danehurst has a 5 star rating. I stayed in the twin bed Poppy room, at the same time as my sister and her husband who were in the adjoining Lilac Room. The Poppy room was spacious with plenty of storage and delightful attention to detail. The shower was exactly as a shower should be - no problems with water pressure here! - and the bed how I imagine sleeping in a cloud would be like, sooo comfortable, but not soggy soft. The house was beautifully appointed, toasty warm and very peaceful and the guest lounge was a delight. Mine hosts are relaxed and welcoming, very discrete but present the minute we needed assisance. Breakfasts were perfect, lovely produce cooked to a high standard and plenty of very interesting choices. Parking is good for a number of considerately parked cars. On both nights one of our cars was parked on the street, but this was just outside the property without any problems and plenty of unrestricted space.…
Stayed just the one night but it was one of the best relaxing places we’ve stayed. We had the Peony suite which was fantastic. All the details just made it easier to chill out. Angela and Michael were great hosts, couldn’t get enough breakfast! This is the place if you want relaxed cosy luxury bed and breakfast and we’d happily recommend it to anyone we know heading to the area.
Wow, wow, wow - a wonderful welcome by Michael despite us arriving hours earlier than due! He proceeded to give us the low down on Danehurst and once we had been given our keys we went off to enjoy our Xmas shopping in Tunbridge Wells. This hotel certainly deserve it’s 5 ***** because the attention to detail is phenomenal - nothing has been left to chance. We stayed in the Rose Room and Poppy Room - they were both absolutely delightful. Breakfast was second to none and everything you would want for a full breakfast and more was available. This took place in the conservatory which was delightful. Angela as Chef and Michael as cook and waiter and the service and food was exceptional. As this is a B & B establishment we asked Michael if he could recommend any local eateries and we enjoyed a lovely tai meal with a jazz band at a pub - The Red Lion within walking distance - lovely! We had lunch at another nearby pub - The Hare - lovely food! I had asked if their decorations would be up as it was still November and Angela said that they usually put them up in early Decemver! So imagine our delight when we arrived and the whole house had decorations! Beautiful and so tasteful! We will be coming back in the future - sorry Michael😋! I defy anyone to not enjoy their stay at Danehurst!…
Our room at Danehurst was superb, we had the peony suite. The attention to detail is excellent, and all the extras you would expect for a five star experience in the bathroom and in terms of tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. The room was spotlessly clean throughout. The cooked breakfast was excellent on both mornings we stayed. Angela and Michael are excellent hosts and made us welcome from arrival until departure and are always friendly and helpful, all in all a first class stay at a first class establishment
