We have just stayed here for a couple of nights with some friends as we were shooting just down the road on Wednesday for the last day of the season & it was right up our street. Very clean , lovely staff & superb breakfasts. Restaurant is excellent and we ate here the first night. Easy walk to the town too.

Mount Edgcumbe is a fabulous hotel in the heart of Tunbridge Wells The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was immaculate with great facilities. The bed was so comfortable and the white linen sheets great. There was a good little coffee machine which meant I could have fresh coffee instead of the usual instant that I hate so much! A nice touch is the homemade shortbread. The shower room was spotless and the shower itself just wonderful All in all this is the best hotel I have stayed at in Tunbridge Wells

I wish I could give this little gem 10!! It was outstanding. Wanted to stay longer. We stayed in room 5. It was amazing. Had everything we needed. Clean and comfy. The bar was so warm and inviting and beautifully decorated. Everyone we dealt with was so friendly and helpful. Even though we were only 10 minutes from town it felt like we were on a little private island away from the hussle and bussle of life. Breakfast was exceptional. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so beautiful.

Treated ourselves to two nights’ hotel stay when visiting the area. So pleased we chose this hotel! From the quirky imaginative decoration, to the friendly efficient staff and the comfortable beds and great shower we were not disappointed. Highly recommended. Quiet location too but only about a 10 min walk into Town

We were visiting Tunbridge Wells to attend a wedding and were very pleasantly surprised by the accommodation. We stayed in Room 4 and found it to be well above average when compared with other similar establishments. Recently refurbished to an exceptionally high standard the room and bed were, though not huge, very comfortable indeed and scrupulously clean. The price for two nights' b&b was definitely not the cheapest but overall, we decided that it was justified by the standard. I would describe both the accommodation and the bar as quirky, but in a very pleasant and appealing way. It's not every en-suite that has a giraffe's head on the wall! We didn't use the restaurant for an evening meal so I can't comment on that, but we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Bar prices seemed average for the area and the selection of drinks available was as you might expect. Breakfast was acceptable. The owner has played on the history of both the building and the site upon which it is built to great effect. There are no lifts so if you are intending to stay, be prepared for a good climb up two floors to the rooms. I was impressed too that there is a comfortably furnished lounge on the first floor for residents who don't wish to sit in the bar and also what looks like a small conference/function room. The one fly in the ointment is not the hotel's fault. Parking in the area is abysmal and trying to leave the narrow lane which joins the road to the car park is, frankly a pretty risky business with parked vehicles severely restricting visibility up and down the road.

Stayed here because of the good reviews on trip advisor and over all a very welcoming nicely presented place. However food not overly great at dinner & breakfast & bed sheets had black stains on them when i got into bed.. Did email my concerns back to the manager but todate no reply.

Hello 764gareth, Thank you for taking the time to review us. It is a shame that we were not told of these 'concerns' during your stay as most could have been easily rectified without judgement. We check our rooms thoroughly before a new guest checks in but understandably we do not unmake the beds to check the linen on the inside, we can only apologise that the linen had a stain. However, we do wish you had raised this to the manager during breakfast as we would have happily compensated for the inconvenience. We did receive your email which was replied to before this TripAdvisor was posted but we never had a response from you. Again, we can only apologise that you felt that your stay was less than satisfactory and we hope to hear from you soon! Team Edgcumbe

We stayed in Room 1 for four nights and found it difficult to leave! The hotel is truly luxurious, with beautiful views and nice beds. We loved the breakfast and had dinner there every night. We arrived on a Sunday, so we had an excellent Sunday roast. The food is great and the menu has plenty of variety. We were out sight-seeing every day, and it was so nice to come back and relax in our room, then simply walk downstairs for dinner. Parking was easy and the entire staff was wonderful. I'd love to go back.

My family stayed at the weekend and said it was excellent. They had two lovely meals in the hotel this weekend 24 April 2022. We love Tunbridge Wells and will be staying in the hotel again next time we visit the family.

We stayed for one night and it was absolutely lovely. The room was stylish, clean and comfortable. The breakfast and coffee was memorable and the service was spot on. We loved having pre drinks in the cave before heading out in to Tunbridge Wells for dinner. We walked before breakfast the following morning over the heath and surrounding area and it was beautiful. I'd love to visit again and would highly recommend. This is a very well run place and refreshing not to have any criticisms. We are not easy to please but the Mount Edgcumbe was perfect for us.
