Check in was easy and receptionist extremely polite. Restaurant meal deal great vfm. Staff very attentive, helpful, polite and service quick and smooth. Tomato and basil soup magnificent! Crispy chicken burger with streaky bacon superb too. Pool a bit busy with members possibly and not big enough to avoid people of roped off for swimmers only area. Room (standard) clean and well presented with complimentary biscuits and note from housekeeping - nice touch. Makes you realise what you’ve missed if not used Holiday Inn in a while😁
Lovely day spent at HI Rochester for a meeting. Everything was very well organized. Very clean, amazing food Lukasz and Courtney were amazing!! The hotel has been recently renovated and is spotless! All the staff were amazing and friendly.
We stayed here overnight. Breakfast was included and we also dined here. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was very quiet, but the bar was busy. Service was at a good speed and attentive. This was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever been in, the public areas were spotless. We couldn't fault anything here.
Have been to this hotel many times over the years but had 2 visits this Yr 1 in January and now 2 nights to visit family receptionist was useless didn't explain just waffles on and on and the put money on card which wasn't approved by us this hotel is useless now and when got back yesterday found no toilet roll had to go to reception to ask waited over 10mins mum was desperate had 2 use public toilets not good enough. Cups at breakfast were dirty food was over cooked and bread for toast was nearly stale. This hotel is rubbish now won't be returning have cancelled a 4 night stay for birthday in mid march want a decent visit not a poxy 1 like this 1 and also knocking on door at 0930 asking to clean room even though we hadn't checked out had to tell her to go away they should wait not intrupt guests . DONT USE THIS HOLIDAY INN …
Very disappointed in this hotel. Rooms peeling and shabby, mattress lumpy. Breakfast shambles, one coffee machine so causing a massive queue, no glasses out for juice, some of the hot plates food swimming in fat and some cold- really unpleasant vegan sausages Bar service also terrible as only one person duty do again big queues Couldn’t use the pool in the evening as they were running aerobics!!!
Having been invited to my cousin's 80th Birthday, booked two rooms so we didn't have to travel late at night. Check-in was straight forward, and the rooms were ideal for the short stay. Some members of the party managed to fit in a session at the swimming pool and sauna. Will be returning for another visit when needing to be in Rochester.
I have been staying here regularly for almost a year now. There have been issues which I have highlighted before but this time around I would like to focus on the positives. Damien is one of the managers here and one of the first problems he sorted out for me was the room (I had phone signal and internet issues before). To top it up he threw in a brand new smart TV in my room and I can now watch Netflix, Prime etc. He has been exceptional all along. Sinead works at the front desk. I normally order in food and there were occasions where my room phone was not working. On one occasion my food almost got sent back because the person on that day couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it. When Sinead was there, I could not believe my eyes when I got a knock on the door. She not only brought my food to the room but also brought a plate and cutlery. Who would do that? Sophie works at the bar. She has a permanent smile etched on her face. She knows that I always ask for a glass of ice. After a while, I don’t even need to ask anymore as whilst I am approaching she is already getting it ready. Sara works at the front desk. I have only got to known her recently but the first time I met her, there was an issue with my room as somebody had moved me away from my regular room. She went out of her away to make sure all my future bookings have been checked and ensured this would not happen again. What I like about all the above people that I have mentioned is that they are always smiling and seem to genuinely care about their customers. These are the people who do make a real difference. Not good. The rooms' roadside have absolutely no seal around the window. Busy road all night. Actually, it sounds like the window is open. These really need updating. Awful nights sleep. Tv in the room is an LG fron approx 2009. Slow abd out of date. Booked a double got a twin toom. Money really needs to be spent on this hotel as its not been updated for for years. A decent nogjts sleep for work was ruined by road noise on a single glazed old window.
We booked the De Havilland suite for my Dad’s celebration of life. We can’t thank the staff enough for making it a memorable day for us all. They were attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. In particular, we would like thank Courtney and Sara who took on board our requests and got the job done as promised! We booked sandwiches and scones for 50 people and there was plenty there, In fact, we ate the last of the sandwiches at 9pm! We could not fault the food. We also booked the tea and coffee package and that was constantly being refilled.
On arrival check in was easy. The room was ok exept that the windows are locked and only able to open a crack, not enough fresh air with air conditioning. Also a gone off 2pt of milk in the fridge, have to walk to reception as no one answered the phone at front desk. But the worst thing was as we checked in we were told that all the hotel facilities, swimming pool, sauna and gym. Were closed from before our check in time till after we leave! Due to Christmas change in opening times. This is the reason I booked holiday inn in the first place and had booked in advance with NO notification of change in open times to facilities. This is false advertising! I would of booked elsewhere with open facilities. if this had been disclosed beforehand but feel this was done in an unhanded way to keep their customers! I have complained to customer services but was only offered an account with 20 points to use in the future? What would I want that for? We will NEVER stay at the Holiday Inn again, they ruined my daughters birthday! And are offering no compensation. Bad practice for any hotel!…
