Breakfast was very basic with not much selection, but can't really complain at the very reasonable price we paid.
Great location, great service and a great price. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I'm in the area.
This being said, we paid a very reasonable price, so not marked down for this, as was a clean and serviceable room.
The pool and gym area was a good size and well attended. I noted regular cleaning and the hairdryers in the ladies changing area were much better than the room.
We only knocked off one point from the rating as although a weekend stay, there was no offer of food for the evening on the Saturday. We appreciate there were limited number of guests and the hotel advised we could order a takeaway in, but would have to eat this in our room, which wasn't ideal as only had the bed to sit on - to be offered one of the various rooms downstairs would have been a nicer option.
Overall nice hotel, the staff were very welcoming and overall very nice hotel experience.
Booked 2 rooms for a week, one is a twin and a very good size other is a double which is tiny to say the least. Thankfully for the twin room as that was only place to store suitcases as there wasn’t any space on floor besides where you walk in door and just enough space to walk around bed. This really should be called a small single room.
Arrived on Saturday before so called “freedom day” and hotel had all the standard covid restrictions in place.
Breakfast
Sunday and Monday was very good all served to you.
Tuesday they reverted to pre pandemic “free for all” which was a bit of a surprise as they were asking guests to wear masks around hotel which is fine but doesn’t make sense then allowing everyone up to the all you can eat buffet with everyone touching the same utensils over and over again (there were no sanitation gels etc available), also a bit disturbing that not until 9:50am just as breakfast was about to finish that they then decided to put on aircon as the previous 2 days there were doors and windows open but today everything shut up (well it was only 25 degrees) let’s hope for better tomorrow
Bar
Is ok with limited available, they need to check their bottle stock though as best before wary 2020 is over a year out of date
Staff
All very friendly and working hard from what I can see
Location
10-15 minutes from main restaurants and shops one way and same other way to beach (via zig zag down cliff side)
Hotel is very clean but extremely dated and in urgent need of some TLC
Not sure as is who they are looking to cater for as not set up for older guests as facilities are not here, and younger guests too dated so leaves families but then with rooms this small won’t get many returns?

Entire hotel in need of refurbishment, dirty windows throughout.
Our room had broken bathroom floor tiles,a shower with very little pressure, and a broken celing fan, creaky floors, tv was a joke( could hardly be seen).
No fire exit procedures in rooms.
Pool was way over chlorinated and gym requires upgrading.
Very dodgy part of Bournemouth, didn't feel safe at night to walk around, with sketchy people everywhere.
Only plus was that it was relatively quiet during our stay and breakfast staff were polite, breakfast was OK.
In summary, avoid unless you can locate a premier inn or travelodge fir stay, at least they are of an acceptable standard.
I think this applies to most hotels in Bournemouth looking at their exteriors though, when driving around. Also the western part of Bournemouth looks much better, nice cafes etc towards poole,if you can locate a hotel there???.
Once in our room it was very very small. Marks on the walls, very dated, hairs on the bed, stains on the valence sheet, mattress was rock hard and the pillows thin. The tv worked well just a bit too small. Hairdryer didn’t work. There was a constant glow of light that came from under and around the door from the corridor light. Which being a small room the glow of light was on the right side of the bed on to the pillow.
The bathroom was slightly larger But had a few cracked tiles and a stain on the side of bath. Shower gel, soap and shampoo in bottles used by previous guests. Luckily we had our own.
Every floor board creaks in the room, corridors and especially the stairs. Trying to be quiet is impossible. You can hear the other rooms talking, walking through the building, you can hear when they use water or turn on the fans for the bathroom.
The bar was empty only one other couple in there. The chairs was dusty furniture old and dated but staff was very friendly once again.
Parking facilities are good a fair amount of spaces.
On our second night we came back to find a coach load of teenagers had arrived at 22.45. To our delight they had been placed around our room on the same floor as us. So for the next 3 hours we had lots of waking up and down, shouting and talking. No heads up from reception when speaking to them earlier in the day. We have stayed in Bournemouth before this was our second time. We have previously stayed in the West Cliff area and if I’m honest I will be going back that way next time. If someone asked me where was a good place to stay this wouldn’t be top my list. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, it’s a shame as this hotel has so much potential but clearly the owners no longer care.
