Wow!! Yet another fabulous stay at The Somerville. Fabulous hosts who feel like friends, fantastic hospitality, breakfast is amazing with so much choice and cooked to order. Each room/suite are absolutely beautifully decorated and have all the little extras you could possibly need. The beds are just so comfortable. With free car parking and Torquay town and harbour/restaurants within a five minute walk this is an ideal Boutique B&B. Peter is on hand to recommend the perfect restaurant for you. After a day out and about a freshly home made cake awaits you to enjoy with an afternoon cuppa. Hosts who go above and beyond and a welcome addition of Paul who welcomes you to your breakfast table with a smile. If you haven't stayed here before please book, you definitely won't be disappointed. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon......thank you from Lynne & Steve from Yeovil 😀

We had a fabulous short stay at the 'Sommerville'....the location is perfect with just a short walk into the town centre. The decor throughout is wonderful and it is obvious that the hosts take a lot of care in selecting how they furnish. Our accommodation was perfect, even had two TV's!!!!...everything was exceptionally clean and very well presented. So it was no surprise that the breakfast was up there with the best you can find....lots of choice and all delicious. Peter is 'the perfect host'...very helpful and entertaining always with a smile. Thank you.... Phil & Ann Harris....Wareham

In a word..”WOW”. Such a beautiful place!!!. From check-in to check-out there was nothing that was too much trouble. Peter, Helen and Coco were the perfect hosts, and not forgetting Paul (the chef). Accommodation was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable, with lovely added touches. Good selection of tea/coffee in rooms, along with biscuits, fresh milk and bottled water replenished daily, or when requested, and also…FREE CAKE!!!!! Breakfast was amazing. Varied continental options along with an extensive menu for the hot options. Huge choice and cooked beautifully with good produce and served with as much tea/coffee and toast as you wished. Located just a short walk from some lovely restaurants and pubs, of which would definitely recommend The Hole in the Wall ( Torquay’s oldest pub), where the food is first class and reasonably priced, and also The Clocktower, a great pub with a good vibe-and VERY reasonably priced !!!! Peter was always on hand, full of conversation, always willing to offer advice or recommend places to go or things to see, even convinced us to stay another night so my husband could go to the pub and watch the Carabao Cup final lol!!!!!!!, and what an atmosphere that was in the Clocktower!!!! It was a shame our stay had to come to end but we’re glad of the relaxing experience we had. For a lovely break in a lovely hotel being looked after by hosts who will treat you like family, I’d say you’d find it hard to beat this little gem. Peter and Helen….thank you again…..we will definitely be back…….maybe in time to see Liverpool win the league!!!!!!

Where to begin..... This place is a hidden gem, perfect location, on site parking & superb hosts. We arrived earlier than expected, but we were welcomed & our room was ready. After a short tour we were shown to our room & we were not disappointed, it was beautiful. Very clean & spacious, with everything you would need for a lovely break. Our room was situated at the front of the building & I have to say, it was very quiet. Breakfast was amazing, plenty of fresh fruits, yogurts, pastries, cereal & the usual cooked varieties as well as teas, coffee's & juices. I was welcomed with a bucks fizz & a candle on my eggs benedict, with Peter & Paul singing Happy Birthday (what a treat). The B&B is literally a 5 minute walk to the harbour, bars & restaurants. On our 1st night we ate a little Italian restaurant called Bianco's, small & personal, but wonderful tasting food & great service. Sunday we walked to Paignton (about an hour) & took the train back. Please do visit Seamus O'Donnells Irish bar, very friendly & plenty of Live music. A perfect weekend break, would definitely recommend & will definitely return again.

I totally agree with all the various complimentary reviews about this B&B. My wife and I have just returned from a short break and everything was fabulous. Wonderfully appointed room, exceptionally friendly hosts and superb breakfasts. I cannot rate the Somerville experience high enough. Do visit, you will not be disappointed. + -+++++++++++++9+-

Second time to the Somerville and still they didn't disappoint. Absolutely lovely 5* b&b with fantastic hosts who couldn't do enough for us. We had a suite this time and it was just as nice as the room the last time but quite a bit bigger, the rooms are beautifully decorated and fabulously clean with everything you would expect and quite a lot you wouldn't. The breakfasts are amazing with a fantastic choice of continental and cooked breakfasts served in the glass conservatory with lovely views down the hill. Our suite had 3 televisions with 1 being over the lovely bath. Fantastic hot drink selection in the room and lovely touches everywhere. There are even home cooked cakes laid on free of charge. We will definitely be going back again for a weekend from Wales and will recommend the Somerville to everyone we know that will be travelling to torquay. Thank you once again for a lovely stay. Neil and Lisa.
