Stayed here in November and it was superb. John and Jane welcome you like old friends and give lots of tips on where to go for meals/drinks. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. A short walk from the town centre and sea front (up a steep hill on the way back). We would recommend the Haytor to anyone.

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Haytor hotel. We stayed in one one of the suites which was very Spacious and comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. This is our second visit, as we also stayed here for the first time last year. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, John and Jane have all the safety measures firmly in place, and on arrival you are informed of all the precautions that are in place, therefore ensuring that you can relax and unwind enjoying your holiday, knowing that you are in safe hands at this hotel. They have plenty of lovely comfortable garden furniture to sit and enjoy a glass of wine within the beautiful gardens in which both enjoyed. You are allocated a time slot for breakfast in order to maintain social distancing. The breakfast is freshly cooked to order by Jane and is served by John, and it absolutely delicious and by far the best we had in any hotel. All the produce is sourced locally and is top notch. The hotel is only about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the numerous bars and restaurants at the marina. The owners, Jane and John really are the most genuine, lovely couple that you could meet, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The same can be said for the young ladies that work here from housekeeping to serving your coffee. We both will be Returning next year again so a big thanks to you all for a wonderful chill out Holiday.

What an absolute gem of a hotel. Arrived slightly earlier than check in time and we were met by John the hotel owner and immediately welcomed in to the lounge area where we were offed coffee and home made fruit loaf. Jane then joined us and we sat and chatted like old friends, we were made to feel so welcome. We were shown to our beautiful room, tastefully decorated and so comfortable, possibly the most comfortable bed ever!. breakfast was amazing each morning, freshly cooked to order. The whole hotel is beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Jane and John are the perfect hosts, on out anniversary there was a card left in out room with some handmade chocolates, a lovely touch. We would highly recommend a visit.

It was a one night business trip booked at the last minute. Everything was as it should be, there were no negatives. It was charged sensible room rates. There was plenty of secure on site (free) parking, the rooms and public areas were extremely well maintained and spotlessly clean with beds, shower etc etc all in well maintained working order. Wi-Fi was free and functioning perfectly Good quality wall hung (new) Samsung TVs in rooms with full signal. Internal decoration was neutral, modern and calming and in extremely well maintained good order The owners were professional, polite and extremely pleasant and rightly very proud of their hotel. The effort and care they have put in is certainly shows The cooked breakfast was exceptional; as much as you wanted it was well cooked to order and personal guest preference with quality local ingredients. All in all even though only a very short business stay over we struck very lucky finding this establishment. I’ve never been to Torquay before and probably won’t need to go again but if I did I would be to stay here .....and if you are planning a stay check this hotel out!
