It’s difficult to write a review when so many others have already provided 5 star reviews. I regretted not booking into the restaurant for the evening meal but it’s only a 10 minute walk into town. The car park is tight but there is parking available on the road. We arrived in the dark and some lit external signage would have been useful. The small touches make a difference here. The welcome drink, fresh milk in the fridge and, when leaving, some water and a brownie for our onward journey. Staff are all on the same page with their customer service. My most important criteria for comparing hotels is the quality of the breakfast and this hotel does a very good breakfast. I will happily stay again.

Dear Mike - we really must stop hiding our light underneath a bushel or rather not signposting our location clearly enough, so that has most definitely gone on our winter to do list. Trouble is because we are in a conservation area such things have to be approved by the council, so maybe by this time next year we'll be easier to find! But thank you for kind comments and we do hope that you will indeed return to the Bay in the not too distant future. Best wishes from all the team at TMB

We booked the honeymoon suite which had a huge bathroom with large shower and bath, a lovely outdoor terrace (where I could smoke) and a large comfy bed. Nespresso machine, large tv and seating finished the room beautifully. Unfortunately the brasserie was fully booked so we ate out but the breakfast was superb especially the chefs granola. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a lovely relaxing time.

Dear Shelly & Mark So sorry you missed out on dining with us but glad you had a taste of what might be in store when you sampled our breakfast. Just like our brasserie menu, chef Callum insists that wherever possible local produce is used (which can make sourcing bananas a bit tricky!) so the results are, to coin a well known phrase, "truly scrumptious". But seriously we hope we've tempted you enough to make the return trip and hope we'll have the chance of welcoming you to theBrasserie too. Until then best wishes from us all at TMB

We booked the Meadfoot Bay as a special treat for our 30th anniversary after seeing great reviews. The hotel certainly lives up to the hype, everything was perfect. Our room was on the ground floor as my wife is severely sight impaired. The room is close to the bar and restaurant so was ideal for us. The room was really nice, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom was furnished very well. The breakfast was brilliant and the staff were very helpful. The highlight was dinner on our final evening, absolutely wonderful, congratulations to the chef and staff for making our stay so memorable. The management must be very thankful for having such a great team. We hope to see you again very soon.

Hello there - well we're delighted that you enjoyed your special anniversary which was no doubt due in part to our great team. They are fab to a person. From front of house to housekeeping and not forgetting of course the kitchen team. Each and every one take such pride in their job it's a joy to see them in action and to see the great feedback they receive from generous guests such as yourselves. We really do hope you won't leave it another 30 years before you return so do come back soon! Best wishes from all the team at TMB

difficult review for us personally as cannot fault 5* reviews below but not for us: the decor was modern and tasteful, rooms spotless and modern furnishings. Staff young energetic and wanting to please. Breakfast especially fab ingredients. very much a classy boutique hotel ( limited outside space). It would be a good choice for many. However the very well presented and sourced ,but limited choice, evening meal meant we would have struggled to eat there a second night (husband vegan). The bathroom had very high end decor but low end practicality. The bath narrow with side central taps with very hot water, the low wc and slippy floor tiles when wet. would make room 9 a poor choice for those who are tall, elderly or unsteady. Pictures of other rooms show a different choice of sanitary ware. So choose your room wisely, enjoy the food and the house gin drink! Date of stay: November 2021

Hi guys - well you are going to in for treat if you return (and we very much hope you will) as 'your' bathroom is one of three we will be refurbishing in January. A very different look and one that we think will be more in tune with the rest of our rooms. So just you wait and see! As to the menu well that's a tricky call. Fine dining does place certain constraints on a kitchen, one of which is menu choice. We actually offer slightly more than many though even our standard a la carte has a vegan choice for each course and that choice can happily be extended if the kitchen is made aware in advance. However if for some reason this wasn't made clear then apologies and we will take steps to ensure others diners don't feel disadvantaged. Lastly so pleased you like our house gin Shag Rock. Like our brasserie, it's gathering a very enthusiastic following! Anyway hope we might entice you away from Horsham for another trip to the bay in the New Year. We think surprise and delight might well be the order of the day! Best wishes until then from all the team at the Bay
