the Beds in the room were very uncomfortable and didn’t have fitted sheets .. so the sheets were always coming off which is gross .. The heating system is very loud .. it’s cutting in and out all night .. . .. we were there for my sons basketball tournament and I needed to wash his jersey and it was 2$ for a sample box of tide and 3.00$ to use the washer and dryer .. meanwhile I just paid 152.00$ for a room.. Dear Jessicasnow01, I am sorry to hear that your stay with us was not an enjoyable one. When a problem of this nature occurs we want to know about it. The noisy HVAC unit clearly interfered with your stay, and did require the attention of our maintenance department to have it serviced. Had we had known at the time, we would have happily moved you to another room that better accommodated you. I am also saddened to hear that you found your bed to be uncomfortable. They have been recently purchased, however, it can be difficult to find a bed that appeals to everyone's preference. Most hotels actually do not use fitted sheets as they are pressed and folded without creases. Regarding our laundry services, as you stated we do offer travel boxes of Tide and Bounce for a guests convenience if they traveled without their own. The fee of $3 to use the washer and dryer ($1.50 each) is required to cover the cost of electricity and hot water to do a cycle. This is quite standard for any laundromat service. We sincerely appreciate your feedback, as it provides us with the information needed to correct problems and improve on the services we offer to our guests. We hope your son had a great tournament in our area and that we may see you again in the future. Sincerely, Sharon Gosse Guest Service Manager

We stayed at the resort side of the hotel. The room had an outside door so we could drive up. It also had a couple lawn chairs and a little sitting area by the entrance. The room had air conditioning but disappointed it didn’t have a fridge. I also didn’t see anywhere for ice. It seemed to have new flooring , not sure if it was laminate or vinyl. The floor looked as though it wasn’t swept before our rental though. After dark it is very little lighting and very uncomfortable if there alone. At 1 am there was someone trying to get our door open which obviously frightened us terribly. I called the hotel to get them to send security over but the man said he just gave a key to the room next door and that the person must of got mixed up. They didn’t send anyone over and didn’t check back to see if everything was okay. Upon checking out, I mentioned our night scare to the desk clerk and she said yeah must of been a mix up and still no apology .

This is a pretty basic place to stay. They overcharge for what you get but it’s pretty much the only place in town. If you are able to book somewhere else do so, but there are very limited options here and the others fill up very quickly. I’d keep driving to Gander or Deer Lake/Corner Brook depending on your direction of travel. Central Newfoundland really should have a more modern hotel facility to create some real competition for places like the Mount Peyton that are overpriced!

We had our wedding reception here at Mt. Peyton Hotel on the last of February, we had Buffet for supper, the food was really Delicious, and the service was outstanding. Anything we needed while we’re doing the decoration in their “Newfoundland Room” where we had our Reception was provided to us by the maintenance guys. The food and beverage manager was very helpful and she was on scene during the reception to make sure everything went off without a hitch. Thank so much Mt. Peyton’s Staff, we appreciate your services and we are looking forward to do more business with you guys, and we would recommend it to our friends for future functions.

I've never been one who leaves a review, but this establishment has prompted me to do so. I can take a dated hotel/motel as long as its clean, but this property is the worst I've stayed in recent memory. I read some of the other reviews and perhaps there are nicer parts to this property, but we didn't see that. I see they also own another venue across the highway, but that's not where we were situated.
Peeling wallpaper. Stains on the carpets. The bathroom was so gross we were reluctant to touch anything. The grouting around the bathroom sink looked relatively new, but it seems the person who did the work was visually impaired. We both would haved liked to shower, but I was not going to put my body into that tub. We couldn't get out of there fast enough in the morning. The corners of the bathroom were beyond gross. Hairs, chunks of dirt...unidentifiable things - check out the pics...And we paid over $220 to stay one night. Weird...we booked in Feb 2022 for a June stay and they charged our credit card on the date we booked? I booked several other stays at that time and not one of them charged our credit card until we arrived.
If you're planning on staying in Grand Falls-Windsor, don't stay here. Very bad experience.

We stayed in the hotel portion and it is in very poor shape - almost everything in the hotel is very dated and heavily worn (and likely 40+ years old). The workers at the front desk were very nice and helpful, but the rest of the experience was awful. Also, there is no elevator in the hotel, so keep that in mind if you have accessibility concerns or heavy suitcases, etc.

Warm and welcomed is how you feel upon entering this hotel. Marilyn and the front desk ladies are delightful and great to chat with. Lobby is large and very clean. Hotel is split between the main building and another 2 buildings on the other side of the highway.
I booked a cabin style room, which had a cute entryway, the room had a double bed and a couch but no fridge. Walls were very thin so If someone is in the room next to you, you will hear noise.
Ice machine was broken, however they were quick to send ice over - which was greatly appreciated.
Room was clean, but very dated in decor.

The receptionists were warm and welcoming, however it did not make up for the apparent lack of care in the rest of the hotel. Hall carpets were dirty, and the hallway on the 2nd floor had an unpleasant odor. The room had no fridge or microwave. The armchair was threadbare and looked like it had never had a good cleaning, furniture and carpet were dated and the wear and tear over the years was evident. Wallpaper was coming apart at the seams and the bathroom tile grout was disgusting with the amount of mold and mildew. The linens were clean, but also showed their age. The only token update was a Keurig coffee machine.
The entire facility is in need of a major overhaul, and this is not a place that I would recommend to friends or family.

This hotel really isn’t good value. It was fairly expensive, not accessible in the hotel part (stairs to get to the room) and the hallways were quite smelly. Air conditioner wasn’t working well. Restaurant food was passable-restaurant staff were quite friendly though.

The $100 “damage deposit” was a bit of a shock for a hotel to hit you with when checking in. But since we spent the evening having to call down to have security herd unruly children who’d been left clearly unattended by adults and who spent hours running up and down the hallway screaming and pounding on doors, I can sort of understand why.

We stayed at the motel across the road from the hotel since it is pet friendly.

The Good:
Our room was spacious and clean
The room appeared to be recently renovated. (Room 133)
Easy access to the main hotel directly from the highway
The rates were reasonable
The cleaning staff were very friendly

The Not So Good:
The motel portion felt very remote from the main hotel with the pub and dining room
No fridge or microwave
While the room was nice, the exterior of the building was not very pleasant

Hi there. There is no pool. The rooms are marginal and the hotel is in dire need of an updating. The beds are small and sunken. The bathrooms are small, dank and mouldy. You'd be better off staying at the Robin Hood Inn. We discovered this place after suffering through an evening at the MP. Good Luck.
