I had showed up to the hotel and had to swipe my credit card for incidentals, which is normal… but they authorized my credit card 3 times for $100 (totalling in $300) and told me it didn’t go threw when I showed them it did on my end. They then took $100 from my debit card to cover the incidentals or I couldn’t go to my room. In total for a $161 stay I was authorized $400. Off to a bad start. I then get checked into my room and go up and the room was turned upside down from housekeeping, so I went back to the front desk and they made us wait an additional half an hour for the room. By the time we finally got to the room it was still dirty, you could tell it wasn’t vacuumed, she also said she would send us robes, witch they didn’t. We called down… no one picked up so we had to call the hotel from our cellphone. When they picked up the phone and we had told them we tried phoning from our room the lady said “the phone has been ringing off the hook it’s broken we don’t pick it up”. After we got our robes and fan it was an okay stay! On top of it all it was my birthday!

We ended up staying in an efficiency suite for over 8 weeks as we awaited our new home build. When we first arrived there were issues with having no cellular service, no hot water in bathroom, broken dishwasher, no pots & pans and a broken coffee maker. This once quaint hotel is now tired looking and seems quite neglected. Staff was minimal and significantly overworked. Lori was super helpful and responded to our requests quickly and in a friendly manner despite working what seemed to be unreasonably long shifts. The few staff who were working early on were overworked. I urge the owners to acknowledge these staff. Thankfully more staff have since been hired and all were wonderful to deal with. If you are looking for a comfortable stay close to all amenities I would recommend this place. If you want new updated rooms I suggest going to one of the newer hotels.

At the beginning of September I booked a room for a 2 night stay, September 24th and 25th. Checked in on Friday , told the girl at the desk I was there for 1 nights. Saturday morning around 11:15 housekeeping knocked on the door and told me that check out was at 11. I responded that I was there for one more night. Within 15 minutes the telephone rang and the lady at the front desk told me I only booked the room for one night so I must leave. I responded that I booked it for 2 nights and I’m not leaving. She responded with “You only paid for 1 night, you need to leave.” We have been going to this hotel for more than 15 years and have never been treated like this. The manager finally called me after I checked out and replied “you only booked one night.” I replied that I booked for two nights. I told her that I couldn’t believe that the staff hadn’t tried to find me another room somewhere as they had screwed up big time. There’s nothing worse than being told to get out of your room and having no place to go, I can’t believe how rude the staff was to me. Why would I book a room for one night and tell them I was there for two. The manager called me and admitted that they had 3 rooms that were out of order so obviously they had overbooked. Beware when you book a room for more than one night as you may be told to leave as I was.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel during our visit of Orillia. It was clean despite of its age. It’s a bit on the older side. Large room with king size bed. Includes breakfast which was a good bonus. The issue we had was our room was near the side door. We heard noises many times. Also under staff likely due to pandemic which is understandable. Good stay overall for the price.

Cleaning not efficient. Room was quite dirty (hair on the ground in the bathroom). The staff seemed limited. Only a person at the reception desk for example and he was busy. Poor breakfast to order (closed restaurant). Quite expensive rate. For the same rate, we slept in Delta Toronto in downtown.
