The chateau is set in hillside overlooking the Loire. Well manicured garden with 3 trails on separate levels. Amazing views. Even the church has a view. Restaurant cuisine top notch eventhough service was average for French restaurant. Hotel staff very helpful and accommodating. Rooms clean, spacious and comfortable.

We stayed 2 nights (room ‘grand confort’) when visiting the region of Azay-le-Rideau (with his beautiful castle) during our tour of the Loire castles. This are the strong points: - The outstanding situation of the hotel, on a hill offering you a view on the nearby region from the pavilion; - The lush and huge garden surrounding the hotel, offering you the possibility of a little walk; - The parking place at the entrance of the hotel; you can park the car nearby the main entrance door of the hotel in order to unload/reload the luggage in the car; - The well kept swimming pool, very pleasant during a hot summer day after a day tour; - The tasty, beautifully decorated and varied breakfast buffet; the delicious high-level dinner; - The friendly staff; - Last but not least: the exclusive styling of the whole interior (room, restaurant and lounges). Some weaker points: - The disposable toilet requisites in the bathroom are quite limited; you don’t expect this in that kind of exclusive hotel setting; - The rather slow bar service, taking into account you are not staying here in a huge resort; - Dinners are of high quality, but the choice of the menu was rather limited in our experience; - It’s a pity that there is no possibility to have dinner outside: so you could enjoy the magnificent surrounding. On the whole, we very much enjoyed our stay in this château.

We stayed just one night at this lovely Chateau, in fact we were the only guests on a very quiet Sunday night. The property is beautiful with lovely public rooms and gardens. The Italian terrace is enormous and must be gorgeous in the summer. It even has a little chapel. We were upgraded to a room into the Chateau (no. 6), which was very nice with views out to the front of the building and the amazing huge cedar tree on the front lawn. The super king size bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed, if a little dated in decor. We enjoyed a drink in the wood panelled sitting room in front of a roaring fire and had a great dinner in the restaurant. The food and wine were very good. Breakfast was lovely - a delicious array of cakes and patisserie. You could also order cooked items (we didn’t). This is not a budget place to stay, but the standard was excellent.

Two nights at the Chateau. Others have commented on the beauty of the building and the grounds are pretty too. Walk out on the terrace and behind if you have the time. They have a swimming pool and it was cold. The room was pleasant but ours, #30, had no views. Dining in the restaurant was quite good. Both fish and meat courses were well prepared and flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the vanilla and mango tart with passion fruit sorbet and pavlova.

Chateau de Rochecotte was arguably the nicest hotel of our stay in Brittany, Normandy and the Loire Valley. Our bedroom was beautifully appointed, the grounds were meticulously manicured, and the breakfasts and a group dinner were exceptional. We had champagne and wine on their outdoor terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. Our room was very quiet for sound sleeping. I wish we had been able to stay longer. "C'est magnifique."
