The host is a very rude man. I’ve been to so many hotels and hostels around the world and this is by far the worst one ever! The beds are filled with bugs and the room and bathroom are never cleaned. My friends and I left the room to go dining and then when we came back, the bathroom trash was still in place from the morning and the beds were not made. I asked the host for more toilet paper and what he did was go take a shower...we had to wait to use the bathroom until we had some toilet paper. The bathroom has no shampoo nor soap and it is not given. The breakfast is not free as well. The worst one was when we left our fan on to go eat breakfast and come back to a fresh room, but when we came back the room’s fan was off. This meant that the host came into my room to turn on the fan but he couldn’t change the bathroom trash. This was a horrible experience and my friends and I will never come back to this place.…

Stayed here for 4 nights. It’s located away from the main street but just a couple of minutes walk to the centre. It’s run by a family and their friends and is very laid back. I slept well there. I was the only tourist so maybe not the best place to stay if you’re looking for company.

A welcoming, clean and comfortable hotel well Situated in the town for restaurants and bars but tucked out of the way so it is quiet. Esther on the front desk is multilingual and superbly helpful in helping you discover the local region with helpful tips for any budget. The breakfast is renowned and rightly so, cooked up by Evangelina the chef who also speaks French should you need. I would highly recommend

Very clean and nice place close to the village and waterfall. The owner and his wife were very kind and they help you with everything whatever you need help with. Would like to stay here again and defenitly recommend this place. Pura Vida ❤️

First, we loved the owners- Ester and Andre...what terrific hosts. And their cute little daughter, Alena. We had a fantastic 5 days at their hotel and practically became part of their family. Great breakfast and laundry service. The hotel itself was very modest, clean and simple (no TV in the rooms and we didn't need them anyway). Hotel is just a couple of blocks away from downtown La Fortuna where we ate lunch and dinners. Hotel is tucked away in a quiet back, safe back street. Will stay there when we go to La Fortuna again.

For the price the hotel is outstanding. Hot standing shower with great pressure, comfortable bed, big breakfast and the warmest welcome imaginable. Ester and Andres are the host of premium class, repairing phones, great tips where to eat and organizing our journey home. 200m from center means it’s quite but well located. Strongly recommended.
