First off the positives of this place. The hot springs are great. So many choices and it's just a great location and views of Volcano are very good. The breakfast was really good. Definitely it's worth at least a day trip. The negatives. I didn't like the Italian restaurant. The prices for everything on site were a little high for the area. $20 drinks seems really high. The water slides were closed but there was nothing saying that. It would have been nice. For breakfast they told us it opened at 5:30 but when we went at 6:30 we were told to come back as it opened at 7.00. A sign saying the times would have been nice. Probably the biggest thing that would be nice to have is some sort of drying racks in room areas or a way to dry out bathing suits. The whole purpose of trip is to go into pools so it would be a nice deal if there was a way to get them dry.

Very difficult to get any money back if you cancel. They were dishonest with their policy. Canceled within 24hrs due to my son passport expired. This is an unresolved issue that we have to report to our credit card company.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights, it’s been a true nightmare. The first night we had a dinner in their ‘a la cart’ restaurant, one of the worst I have ever been, which, by the way, is supposed to be Italian and, as Italian, I confirm it isn’t. The food is simply terrible, as confirmed in many reviews which I read too late. This said, I got a food poisoning that night and felt unwell for many days after, that’s why we had to stay necessarily for a second night. I could not actually move from the room (and bathroom). I experienced fever, upset stomach, diarrhea and vomiting for hours. They couldn’t even provide a thermometer. I felt so bad that the day after I asked to be carried to the clinic but wait, not so fast. Just to give a bit of context, I could barely stand on my feet and they wanted me to pay for the upcoming night, otherwise they wouldn’t bring me there. Once back from the clinic, where the contraction of bacteria infection was confirmed, I asked to meet the manager. We only had a brief chat, he couldn’t even reply knowing his faults. He simply denied the evidence and refused any discount on the night fare or on the bill of the restaurant. He never even said sorry, unbelievable! At the end he just stormed away. The next morning we left the hotel discussing again with the rude staff cause they wouldn’t give us the receipt of the night saying they couldn’t issue an invoice… Final consideration, I’ve travelled a lot in my life and I’ve stayed in many hotels, from hostels to 5-star, and never experienced such a thing. I simply suggest you not to go. Beside being definitely overpriced, service is deplorable, staff is rude, food is poisoning and the hotel itself is old. I still don’t understand how they got 5 stars…

Amazing hot springs. With so many pools (I think 25) to choose from it is hard to find a spot not to your liking. The water temperature is amazing & the grounds are amazing too. The rooms looked beautiful but somehow the bathroom felt off. On-site Italian restaurant and Costa Rican food restaurant too. Avoid the Italian restaurant. We did not like the taste of pizza or caprese salad. Breakfast is great.

This place was amazing and all we had hoped it would be. The only negative we had was the dinner Buffett the food was BLAH and the price was steep at $22 per person. The breakfast buffet which was included was great as was the main restaurant. Safe was friendly and knowledgeable. Michael who drove us to our room when check in was great the 3 days we were there. The rooms were amazing so spacious and ours had a great view of volcano. The spas were greaT

The hotel is overpriced for what it offers. It has beautiful landscaping/pools and staff were very nice and attentive. However, it seems they don't have control over the amount of people who arrive with day passes and they are able to enjoy the facility all day and night marking no difference from those staying overnight. Unfortunately, during our stay they even closed the pool area a bit earlier and did not leave the 24 hr. pool open due to having excess people during the day and needing to clean them which was a real bummer for us. We had plans to enjoy the pools at night when everyone left but were cut short from this. We were also disappointed when we spoke to the Manger Max who did not appear to be sensitive or to understand how this impacts the guests who are paying so much for the stay. They should allow the guests to enjoy their time in the facility until a certain time and then allow people to come in with their day passes afterwards. The stay here is very pricy and should provide some type of benefit. There are many hotels in the same area that are good, cheaper and also areas with warm waters. They need to improve their system for guests that stay over and until they do so, I only recommend using the benefit of the day pass.

Baldi did not disappoint. We loved being able to access the pools anytime of day during our stay there. The staff goes above and beyond to provide stellar service. Our room was clean, quiet and fully equipped. We would recommend for families but also for couples. Location in La Fortuna is alos perfect for all the activities and going into town.

We returned after 18 years and were not disappointed. Baldi is a fantastic place, full of fun and relaxing pools. There are exciting slides and several pool bars. Beautifully maintained, not crowded, with super amenities and I would recommend taking option with food. The buffet was great!

Great hot springs option for families, hot pools, cold plunges, pool bars, restaurants, spa, something for everyone. Very nice facilities, the buffet lunch was great. Fun to explore all of the different pools. Slides were fun and also a whole small child section.
