Fantastic host who speaks English and can arrange any trips you may want to try. Spacious accommodation which was fresh and spotless. Situated about 1.5k outside the village in an elevated position with fantastic views. Food in the onsite dinning area was cheap and better than I have had in some restaurants. No Airconditioning although there are 2 fans provided which were adequate.

If you like peace and quite and accommodation with great views you will not be disappointed.

Booked and then realised it would be difficult to get to khao sok as didn't intend to go phoned and chip (owner) organised a taxi at s reasonable price. The accommodation was lovely, didn't have air con but did have 2 fans. Chip also helped to arrange trips for elephant trekking and canoeing. Her cooking was really great and prices really reasonable as I'd her prices for beer etc. Also picked us up from khao sok or arranged transport. Take water proofs if this time of year as it did rain heavily, I suppose only to be expected, we just got wet, but so hot it didn't matter you dry quickly. Very quiet apart from noise of insects, lovely experience.

The only reason I don't give this place 5 /5 is that the rooms don't have air-con. Now, this wasn't really a major problem during our stay, since we went out early and came back in the evening, when the temperature was noticeably higher inside than outside. However, this was not a problem for sleeping, as the temperature dropped very quickly past midnight to very pleasant levels.

Everything else is great. The rooms are large, very clean, like new, with a nice private deck with table and chairs. No problems at all with mosquitos when we stayed, but there were very few outside anyway. The hotel is 2 km from the village where there are shops, bars, etc but I actually found that more soothing as you can enjoy the calm and the great views. Maybe it would have been a problem if I'd stayed for more than two nights. The hotel will lend you a motorbike to go to the village anyway, and all tours will pick you up and drop you off at the hotel, whose owners/staff were very helpful with arrangements for trips into the park and transportation out of Khao Sok.

The place seems to be owned by a Western-Thai family (apologies if I got that wrong!), and they are all a very kind and friendly bunch, starting with Jon, the Danish owner.

Dinner was pretty good on our first night, and excellent on the second, when it was cooked by Tip (probably got the spelling wrong, sorry), a really friendly young Thai lady who certainly knows her way around the stoves! She also booked our onward transportation to Ao Nang and did everything always with a smile on her face. Breakfast was good and really enjoyable to have while soaking in the views of the valley.

Khao Sok is well worth visiting. We took a one day trip to the stunning lake and really regretted not being able to stay longer to book one of the 2-day treks into the jungle.

To sum up, if you are looking for a nice, clean, calm spot in this wonderful park, I don't think you can go wrong with this hotel.

Our tent was infested with ants on night 2. The resort is a long way up a dusty track from town. Taxis won't take you so, if you want to go into town in the evening, expect a 40 minute walk back in the dark. We booked a tent for 3 nights. We had already decided to cut the stay to 2 nights as there's not much to do. At about 11 pm on night 2, I felt intense prickling all up my body. I was covered in biting ants. We had to abandon the tent and spent the night in reception. No sleep. From 6 am to 9 am we emptied all our bags and shook out all the ants. They were everywhere! We had a coffee and a tea before getting the taxi out. The owners didn't care at all and charged us 70 baht for the drinks.

This finding was a true gem! The host is such a lovely person and couldn't do more for us. When we arrived around noon and without any reservation, we were immediately given one of the three spacious and clean bungalows (with a beautiful view) and could get a quick lunch. The host and her family organized a kayaking trip on the river on the same afternoon for us, plus a night walking safari in the national park the same evening after dinner. Super service and much appreciated! The homecooked food is excellent. We also enjoyed the breezy hilltop location. No problems getting there and away as we had a car. The two fans (no aircon) were definitely sufficient. Would always come back and recommend this place to anyone not seeking luxury but enjoying to wake up to the pure morning sounds of the jungle.

This is a budget resort and excellent prices to be close to the rainforest in Khao Sok and the national park located here.

We visited here during off peak time related to holidays and paid £15 per night. The first night, we stayed in a room with a fan and a mosquito net. Our night was very disturbed due to the need of keeping the fan on, because of this, the mosquito net kept disturbing us, specially me as I was closer to the fan side. Also, the bed was very bumpy and lacked comfort.

The 2nd night, we asked for a room with air con rather than a fan, this room cost £20 per night and although our sleep was so much better as we did not have a mosquito net brushing against us all night, the mattress was again, very lumpy and bumpy.

Now, what you have to consider here, is, for £15/20 per night, this was an excellent stay, but on the other hand, the bed is not so comfortable, but then again, the price is excellent... I loved it, the grounds were lovely, you had the choice of purchasing breakfast or not, it was local to a lot of attractions, I LOVED the crepes sold nearby on the road that leads up to this hotel, the ONLY thing that I would say is, this hotel should really do something to get 'slightly' better mattresses, otherwise, for a budget stay, excellent.
Has a lovely stream runny past the lodges which are so beautiful to look at from the outside, wifi is available in the cafe/breakfast room area and there are a few restaurants on the road this is located on, and if you stay here, make sure you search for the girl who sells crepes in the middle of the road! I still miss those crepes today!!!

We are seasoned travelers who look for "quiet accommodations in beautiful settings." This describes The Hilltop Resort. Most of the accommodations in Khao Sok are in or very close to the tourist village that has grown up around the park entrance, and most are enclosed in the jungle. The Hilltop Resort, however, is about two kilometers outside the village, and looks out over the jungle towards the karst mountains to the west., each of the three bungalows has a stunning view from the porch. Rain or shine it was a pleasure to sit outside and listen to the sounds of nature that surround you. It is easy to rent bikes or motor bikes in the Village, and enjoy the village and park and also have the the peace, quiet and beauty of Hilltop Resort.

The accommodations are simple and clean. The owner, Jip, is generous, and her family was helpful for all our needs, laundry , transportation, and any touring in the area we wanted to do. And the food was fantastic and convenient . We usually had breakfast and dinner at the resort meals were delicious and Jip was able to adjust ingredients for our needs. My wife and I booked a room for a week, when she went off to a yoga retreat, I decided to stay for a second week.

The small resort which features only 3 bungalows is located a bit outside of town, which gives it a very private touch.
The owner, a great Thai lady, who speaks a decent english takes very good care of her customers. She organises tours, picks you up from the bus station, let's you borrow her motor bike and also organises any transport to your next destination.
She prepares all the food freshly for you once you order it. The Thai dishes taste fantastic and also the western food for breakfast is very good. We tried the Tom Kha Gai and some curries and everything was delicious.
The bungalows are very spacious and offer fans only. Which was no problem, since the temperatures get a lot cooler at night. During the days the best thing is taking a tour through the park and jungle anyways.
The room was very clean and tidy and everything was very well taken care off.
The surrounding area features a nice garden with a lot of pretty flowers and all sorts of plants and is very well maintained.
There is no WiFi so it's perfect for people who don't want to be disturbed by anything but the sounds of the jungle! :)
Great place for a short getaway!

Very nice area, very nice people, nothing bad to say about it. Jib is an amazing cook. In the morning you can hear gibbons calling from the jungle and there's the most beautiful view of the mountains from the restaurant. Would definitely recommend it
