The pictures do not do this place justice. Absolutely stunning surroundings. Our room was comfortable with an incredible view onto our deck and the lake. We loved sitting on our deck with a drink and enjoying the lake views. The deck had chairs and a mesh platform suspended over the water for lounging. A large floating water pad was also provided. Our stay included the boat ride from the marina to our accommodations, a couple of boat tours on the lake, a hike and all meals. On one of the boat tours, we saw wild elephants! The meals were ok, not fantastic. But, the room and the surroundings made up for it. Also, we could purchase drinks from the bar at any time for a very reasonable price.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. The bungalows were comfortable and it was a unique experience. Pro/Cons listed below but to summarize, I would recommend spending a bit more to stay at a different resort or the Panvaree The Greenery instead. Pro: beautiful location, good food, cave and boat tour were organized with our package which was convenient Con: bad customer service, staff was hard to find (bar and front counter was mostly unattended and the bell is broken), communication without a translator app is hard and Wi-Fi is very weak so using a translator app is tricky, staff catered to social media influencers (ex: prioritizing all of their drinks even though they ordered after us, catering to them at front desk while we had to move large tables by yourselves to get to our boat), our propane tank was empty upon arrival so we had no hot water until day 2 and it was very difficult to find staff to help…

We stayed for one night as a private trip we booked with a local guide. I had wanted a bungalow with air con and really liked the look of the views. The bungalow was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'm not sure why people are moaning on here? What level do you expect on a floating bungalow in the middle of a lake? We thought it was breathtaking and a highlight of our holiday. A few things to note: the electricity and therefore AC isn't turned on until 5pm and after having struggled with heat exhaustion that day, arriving the the boiling hot restaurant (no fans) was a real struggle. I have to say though, that once they saw I was struggling, fans were turned on and they really looked after me. A cold shower helped and then I could relax as the sun set behind the mountains. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Pictures don't do it justice! The lunch was nice, dinner OK and as others have said, big portions. We are so glad we booked a private trip on the lake as our guide and boat driver were able to fi d lots of wildlife for us. It was a dream to wake up and listen to the gibbons haunting calls across the mountains, and although I was told I probably wouldn't see them, our guides hit the jackpot. My favourite animal and a trip to remember all my life. Looking at the greenery across the way, I actually thought our room was better as we had direct access to the lake as well as our own bathroom. It was much cheaper and the same beautiful views! Overall, definitely stay on the lake and don't be pit off with these reviews. …

Think before you book! The pictures looks tempting, however the hotel is dated and dirty. The water is dirty….not sure we’re the waste goes… The food is below average big portions though. The activities are great but not organised or give you any info. The hotel team is great however Nancy isn’t.

Stunning location - amazing ... so the morning and evening boat tours were well worth it to experience the amazing scenery .... but the resort itself is very poor. Very tired in need of sprucing up (even taking into account the remote location). We had cold showers (may be they were hot at a certain time, but that was not mentioned), you pretty much had to ask what happened when (they could easily give you a schedule when you arrived), food was ok, I am not sure they tell you that the Greenery and the resort are 2 separate things - - ie you can't go to the greenery for a beer or relax if you are staying at the resort. Ete etc. Aircon in rooms overnight was great on the plus side, as were kayaks, and t he staff were very nice .... but overall we would not recommend this resort.…

We booked 2 nights / 3 days at Panvaree and had a Deluxe Bungalow. We were aware that we would pay a higher price for the great and lonely location, but the price / performance ratio for the accommodation just does not fit. The Panvaree was for sure a nice accommodation, but the resort is in need of renovation and unkempt (see pictures) - too bad! The pictures on the popular booking portals are obviously outdated and do not show the current condition of the resort. The food in general is average. The individual dishes are okay but the meals in total very one-sided (few vegetables, a lot of chicken). The pancakes at breakfast are delicious. We booked the activity program offered by the Panvaree. The tours are nice but we were left to our own devices and would have liked a guide to tell us a bit about the landscape and wildlife. The staff speaks little or no English, but is very warm and eager. Despite the criticisms of the resort, the location is great and the scenery stunning. We were even lucky enough to see a wild elephant with baby on one of the tours. As accommodation we would not recommend the Panvaree as the price per night is too high and feels not ‚fair‘. On the booking platform it should be mentioned clearer that the boat transfer from the pier to the resort is included, but only goes once a day (11:30 for check-in and 8:30 back to pier) and otherwise costs extra.…

Before I begin, I must make clear that I am 71 years old and that should be taken into context when interpreting my view of this place. The accommodation floats on the beautiful lake, secured on a sort of floating rig, therefore to access your room, you have to walk along 'floating gangways' that move beneath your feet since they're on water. For those of younger generations, this is not a problem - in fact, it's quite a unique and fun feature. However, personally I found it a bit unnerving, but not quite as unnerving as a section of gangway/walkway which is positively dangerous as it offers little in the way of railings for support and in one stretch of several yards, offers no support whatsoever. So if you overbalance, you go into the Lake! Clearly, safety is not high on the agenda here which is why I would strongly suggest it's currently unsuitable for older guests. The beds were comfortable and the washing/showering facility was fine. We had three square meals each day that were perfectly acceptable in quality and quantity. The staff were friendly, obliging and eager to help. And as I mentioned in my title, the area itself is stunningly beautiful. The water is warm and safe, although life jackets are provided for those less able. Paddling a kayak across to get a closer look at a mother elephant and her baby enjoying themselves by the shoreline was a magical experience for me. It was so nice to see an animal free of any human control, in it's natural environment - and right on our 'doorstep'!…

This hotel could be something really special. The hotel itself is very comfortable and well maintained and is in a beautiful location on Cheow Lan lake in Khao Sok National Park. The staff is kind and they are trying really hard to help you enjoy your stay. They just need to get it together as far as organization. The food is really NOT good by Thai standards and is a set menu. It seems they are trying to be too authentic or fancy instead of just doing westernized Thai food in a buffet of some sort. The tours are not good either and weirdly named. On the morning "Animal" tour, not one animal was pointed out. On the evening "Highlight" tour, we saw monkeys and a hornbill. There is very little explanation of what you are seeing and the focus seems to be on selfies in front of the landmarks. Maybe just have a sunset tour and a sunrise tour (since the scenery is different) and put some underwater lights and feed the big fish for folks that don't want to do the tours. Also, maybe a sign in each room with the generator, meal, and hot water hours so you don't have to take a cold shower because you missed hot water time. …

If you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful Cheow Lan lake / Khao Sok park, you need to stay here! We stayed for 2 night and that was almost perfect (wouldn’t stay for 1 night because i think thats too short, but also not more than 2). The resort looks a bit old-ish, but I didn’t mind because the scenery was unreal. The bathroom could have been cleaner. But those things didnt bother us at all. I mean, what do you expect from a floating resort in the middle of a National Park? Between 9am and 5pm there’s no electricity and internet, so be sure to bring a book or grab one of the kayaks to discover the lake. You cant leave the resort for a hike by yourself, but the staff had organized trips for you. We went on the morning safari (6.30) when the rock tops were covered in mist. We also went to the coral cave. Definitely do this if you like to hike through the jungle with a ranger. We heard an wild elephant and saw some monkeys along the way. (Only possible when you stay 2 or more nights). The staff is very friendly and helped us with our trip after the stay. The food was traditional thai, which we really liked. We would definitely recommend this place to stay for 2 nights. Be sure to book your own floating room to watch the beautiful view from your bed !…

We had the best time at Panvaree Resort. The room was clean and with a great view on the lake. Swimming directly from the bedroom is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We saw many monkeys on the morning tour. Food was plenty and tasteful. Our host Tam was great!!
