Difficult to add to what has already been said but this really is an excellent place to stay, so why is the Moorhen a cut above the competition? Well to start with the rooms are that bit bigger as are the beds, the bathrooms and the shower cubicles. Then, everything is spick and span and spotlessly clean with nice attention to details, the inclusive breakfast menu is wide ranging, tasty and all served hot like it was cooked for you, and finally the hosts have that happy knack of being both attentive and giving you your space. It’s great!

We had been in email contact with hosts Neil and Josie well in advance of our one-night stay. They were very helpful in recommending activities and even booked dinner for us at a local restaurant. We found free (unlimited) parking by the river right in front of the Moorhen, which was very convenient. We were provided the Barton Room on the first floor, with a lovely view of the river (and our car!). The bedroom was quite adequate with a double bed, bedside tables & lamps, desk, small TV and tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom was a good size, with the usual amenities. There is no air-conditioning but the windows open to let in the breeze. The internet was good and breakfast was excellent. The Moorhen is within a level, easy walking distance to the river, restaurants, the Swan Inn and the Southern Comfort riverboat dock. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to the Broads.

A wonderful b&b in Horning, pretty location by the water and close to the coast and lots of walks. The hosts Neil and Josie couldn’t do enough for us, and breakfast was a delight. The variety of choice and the quality of breakfast is hard to beat. We were thoroughly spoiled. Would have no hesitation coming back again Thank you !

A superb BeB in a lovely location. Hosts Josie and Neil were the most friendly and welcoming of hosts. Such lovely people. They could not have made us feel more welcome and would do anything to help us out with their local knowledge. Breakfasts were amazing. Freshly cooked every day and of superb quality. Plenty of choice. Rooms were lovely and comfortable and spacious. Two of us had a garden room at the back and we used the lovely raised garden area to meet for coffee in the evenings. Very tranquil. We sat watching bats and an array of different butterflies on the budlea ! Very pretty location and within walking distance of several pubs and I can thoroughly recommend the fish restaurant down the road for it's amazing seafood ..., the Bure River Cottage Restaurant . Ideal too for river trips on the Mississippi River Boat , the start of which is less than a five minute walk. Indeed many local attractions are within easy reach of this pretty , little village . Overall, a fantastic BeB. So friendly and welcoming with wonderful hosts. Amazing value too. Would highly recommend and can't wait to go back !!!

Had a lovely stay and was made to feel very welcome indeed. Breakfast was really good with great choices and plenty of it! Beds were comfortable and our Garden room was very clean and spacious. We had an elderly guest and he was well looked after too.

Stayed for one night and booked pretty last minute, spoke to Neil on the phone who seemed very helpful and accommodating. Our room had its own entrance which was really good as we had 2 dogs with us. Room was really nice, clean and had an incredible shower. Breakfast was outstanding, cooked perfectly using high quality local produce. The owners are really friendly and went out of their way to help.

Stayed for a week while holidaying in Horning. This lovely, quaint B & B is just perfect. The room was simply decorated and very clean with a lovely selection of teas and coffees, replenished every day. Our room was on the front with a wonderful view of the river. Neil and Josie are fantastic hosts. Never intrusive but always there to help. The breakfast is the best we have had when staying in a B & B. The choice was extensive as were the portions. I really hope we see you again soon.
