Came for a 2 night stay as a couple. Beautiful location, bit remote but surrounded by countryside. Room spotless clean, staff friendly and helpful. Had breakfast which was delicious and plenty of variety. Excellent facilities, had a go on the driving range too! Would recommend
Visited for lunch at the bistro restaurant Intregid by the quirky menu . We opted for sea bass main and chocalate / raspberry tart dessert. The chardonnay and the Malbec wine were really nice and resonably priced. The quality and flavour of our food was exceptional.
Went for a 2 night stay here with our dog. The pet friendly rooms are on the ground floor and you can park outside the room and access it through patio doors. The room was very clean, lovely comfy super-king bed, a dressing table where you could actual sit and see through the mirror to do your hair ( so many hotels miss this essential feature). There’s plenty of storage for clothes. Bathroom had a large walk-in shower, plenty of hot water, small shampoos and body wash are provided and extra large fluffy towels. The hotel even provided a dog bed and water bowl for our fido. Breakfast was very good, best fresh fruit salad I’ve had in a long time, couldn’t fault it. They even made up a seating area just outside the restaurant where we could sit and have breakfast with the dog. The staff are brilliant, really friendly and chatty. I had read other reviews before we arrived and armed with that knowledge, I brought my own room fan because the room does get warm, though we were fortunate enough to have a room with a small opening window and I did notice other rooms didn’t have this feature. It was also reported that the lighting in the room was very dim making it difficult to see when putting makeup on so I packed a small desk spotlight. There is a well lit bathroom mirror but that gets steamed up. Would have liked another armchair in the room, though this could make the room appear a bit cramped, it’s just that when you’re there for more than an overnight stay it’s nice to have a chair to sit in and watch tv during the day. There is tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the room. There is a hairdryer but at 1000W it’s very underpowered, so would recommend you take your own. There is no iron in the room, so if you’re going for a wedding you might want to pack one. To summarise: Excellent clean, comfy room, very pet friendly, great food, great staff. Just for extra comfort I’d recommend bringing a desk fan, hairdryer, desk spotlight (if you wear make-up) and possibly an iron.…
Was disappointed with the level of service considering the good reputation this establishment has had over the years. On arrival at 19:00 we went to the bar and ordered a pint of larger and a gin and tonic only to be told " we've no gin glasses is it ok in a wine glass" ? . Paying top prices and being asked to drink gin out of a wine glass is something I don't expect. The staff behind the bar and reception room were sort of training and overall the experience was poor. The toilets ran out of hand towels and the ventilation in the reception room was poor, being red hot with no aircon or air flow. I know the reputation is good and hopefully this was just a blip but feel improvements are needed and some more gin glasses ordered.
Stopped in this delightful little gem whilst on business up in the north east, great staff, friendly atmosphere and reasonable price, room was clean and tidy. Need to visit the north east more, plus for me was to find real beer at the bar
After an enjoyable round of golf with my sons ' we called in the hotel for a pint. After a 5 minute wait to be served we were greeted by a foul mouth barman complaining about his 12 hours shifts ? We were shocked & as my sons have both worked in bars they said that was very unprofessional .
We arrived for a visit to Beemish Museum and this seemed a good choice of location/hotel. Before I expand on the experience may I say all the staff we met were perfectly friendly and we had no issues with them. Cleanliness is however an issue, the curtains had stains of some sort I would not like guess of what! The shower is dated gets just about warm when turned full up and the shower head has seen better days. The bedroom worktop glass tops had dirt around and under them. Bin liners were not replaced the next day and the bin had rubbish in it that was not ours. However the experience became a bit more bazar, we arrived the day before a wedding and found our room door was located in the wedding aisle, we found this such a joke at the time. We were not told a wedding was about to take place the next day or what to expect. But the next day the bedroom door became inaccessible when we returned as the wedding was in progress so we only had the patio door to use and walk all around the perimeter to the main entrance! What if it was raining are we supposed to just get wet !!! It seemed about 2 hours before direct access from the room door to the hotel was available again. The hotel has not got a dedicated guest bar separate from event guests so the bar was also taken over by the wedding guests so a quiet drink after pounding around Beemish all day was out of the question. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere. The hotel website overstates the actual hotel experience for the excessive room rate and what you get .…
Over night stay with family to visit beamish museum next day.ideal location and pub across the Road .Good parking, lovely atmosphere friendly and bararea very comfortable, cocktail on menu 😋 evening meals where faultless and service.rooms very comfortable and breakfast menu had great selection of traditional and continental. 👍🍾
A gem of a place. Large well fitted out room...best storage I have seen in a hotel room for a long time.. Restaurant airy and spacious. Food good. Young staff at dinner a little unsure with details (3 goes to get a bottle of mineral water right), but breakfast crew 100%. Front view of hotel could do with smartening up...acres of dingy net curtains seen as you approach front entrance...and someone really likes artificial flowers....Inside is clean and cheerful and definitely a first to walk down a red carpeted wedding aisle to get to rooms...
We stayed one night and found staff friendly and very efficient. We had a room on the ground floor with patio doors with allocated parking space outside. The breakfast was cooked to order, very adequate and tasty. Beamish Museum is nearby, so in future if we return to visit the museum we will definitely return as it’s a cosy hotel with a friendly atmosphere.
