A fabulous cottage, beautiful spot, perfect for four people visiting, well equipped with everything you need, especially the kitchen; downstairs bathroom and laundry. Comfortable, cozy, clean, warm and just lovely. Big thank you from us to the extremely nice and polite owner for all the help and advice we have received! Thanks to the owner we learned a lot about Iceland and our surroundings. We could definitely stay there for much, much longer, we have enjoyed our time here greatly. It was an excellent starting point for sightseeing and going further into west-south and south area of Iceland, not far from Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik, 10m ride to Selfoss, where you have several shops. Very quiet, idyllic village with nice people, nice neighbors, good place for fishing and many attraction nearby. I can’t recommend Sea Side Cottages enough! For sure we will come back. Thank you!

The cabin was so welcoming and cozy! It's a home away from home! The heating was on when we arrived, so the cabin was nicely tempered when we arrived and they were super nice and homely! The cabin is small and intimate, it is decorated in an old-fashioned way, which I like! It's just really cozy! It's a little loud, but that's okay!
There is a view out to the water and it is super beautiful!

We booked the Cottage for two night many months ago and we were excited to start our Iceland trip at the cottage.
We had asked by email a couple of questions a couple of days before we arrived and they were answered promptly.
We waited for the owner to email instructions on how to get into the cottage and we never heard anything back. We emailed when we landed and still nothing. After driving about an hour we arrived at the cottages. It was raining and windy and we couldn't get in.
We checked the doors etc and all were locked. We tried the phone number and no one picked up. We had been up since 5 in the morning and it was now 6 pm
My husband knocked on a neighbours door and luckily they were home. They called her personal number and she gave them the code for the lock box and they let us in. (Thanks Petre)
The cottage is tiny and there is nowhere comfortable to sit. The bed is small and the shower rocks. The only 2 towels supplied were hard and crunchy.
It may be better in the summer when you can sit outside. You can't see the water from the cottages. The town is far from everything and there wasn't much to see or do. There is a nice restaurant there but be prepared to pay. We never did hear from the owner.
We left the money owing on the table and left 2 days later.
Did I mention the rule book? Under normal circumstances We wouldn't mind but we had to take out the garbage , wash the dishes and take the linens off the bed.
Not much of a holiday considering there was no customer service on their end.

Thank you for letting us at your cottage house, very well renovated house. Clean and well equipped. The man would feel like moving back in time, feeling the atmosphere of the old fishing village and the piece. The onwer tell us the stories about the house and this make us feel like we are at home. We were a couple with a little boy and we very much like to come back!

Fantastic cottage right by the seawall . Wonderful views and good walks directly from cottage. Snowing and cold when we were there but cottage warm and cosy . Lovely to come home after day of sightseeing. Good location to see the south of Iceland. Nearby Selfoss has all you could want in terms of shops, bakery etc . Very nice restaurant in village as well as small shop at the garage
Margret send us an email with access details in advance and popped in to check we had arrived and that everything was alight.
Would recommend and hope to return again
Thank you Margret

Margrét was so very welcoming, as if we were old friends seeing each other again. She was so thoughtful, bringing us tea and chocolate as a welcome! The cottage was serene. I could not think of a better word. A structure of peace. I want to live here. Her recommendation of the Rauda Husid was spot on and the Strandarkirkja was the highlight of our stay! We will definitely be back, as this is our new home in Iceland! Thank you Margrét for your kindness! I even named the beach cat Oskar!
I read Colleen S's review and I am sure that there's another side to the story of her review. Margrét is a schoolteacher hence she might not be able to pick up a call in the middle of class. Removing trash before departing is normal in vacation rentals. It's courtesy. If you want to be waited on hand and foot, stay in a hotel.

Stayed here for a week and enjoyed every minute. The cottage is ideally placed for sightseeing the amazing south west of Iceland. There is not much in the village apart from a garage but they do sell all essentials. Selfoss is a nice town with supermarkets and shops. The cottage is cosy and warm with excellent facilities - the stairs down to the bathroom could be a challenge to the less mobile but we had no problem. It would have been nice to have seen the sea from the cottage but hey this is Iceland and with Atlantic storms you need that sea wall to protect you! But a fifteen second walk from the cottage and you can see the coastline and the sea. We were fortunate during our stay to see the northern lights right above the cottage. That was the icing on the cake for us.

Really little, but charming, not expensive, and with the whole services. TV is little, but in Iceland you will not need it. However, location is kind of far from the capital but it's a good starting point for chasing the northern lights and for sightseeig.
Bear in mind that is a seaside cottage and not a in-city accommodation.
