Detailed Reviews
Ilha do Pessegueiro Camping is a nice camping resort in Costa Vicentina, about 2 km south of Porto Covo town. It’s located in the road that leads to the old Fort, in front of a small island with the same name: Ilha do Pessegueiro.
To get to Porto Covo there is a nice track that leads to the town. But expect 20 to 30 min walking.
The park has several infrastructures, like bar, supermarket, kids playground, bungalows and apartments.
We stayed in a bungalow and the best thing is the view: you can see the ocean, the island, … it’s great.
The bungalows have 1 double bedroom and 1 room with 3 single beds. 1 large wc with a large shower, a small but equipped kitchen and a very small living room, with a table for 4 or 5.
Next time we will try the apartment that seems better.

West Coast is the Best Coast! With a wonderful staff and the ever present scent of fresh food, amazing fruit and the sweet aroma from the sea, this is an amazing inexpensive alternative to get to know the real Portugal. Dont be scared: all stafd speaks a bit of english and everyone will do their level best to get you feeling right at home!

We went to camp in Ilha do Pessegueiro Camping Site for the first time in July 2010. Although there were few shadows (after all this years trees are growing) the fact that we had plenty of space all around our tent and that we had a wonderful view directly to the see conquered us, and since then we have been spending our hollidays there.
There is a mini market, a restaurant and a cafe with very nice prices and since 2 years there is even free wifi in the cafe area!
If you like to camp, but want to avoid crowds this is the perfect place to go!

If you're looking for a place to chill, forget about work and just let yourself go here it is! Fly to Lisbon, rent a car and drive down to Porto Covo/Ilha do pessegueiro. We rented an apartment and it's definitely recommendable! It is quite spacious, comes with a outside BBQ / balcony an amazing view and everything that you need for a well spent holiday! There's always live music at night and if you want to go out for a meal Porto Covo it's 5mins away and it's lovely. There are also bungalows available which offer a different experience and a better view to the sea front but you'll be stunned with the sunsets you can see from the grounds. On top of all that it's really cheap and the staff incredibly nice. The only downside is if you're looking to camp there aren't many trees or shades so prepare yourself to wake up early!

Returning to this park a second time is truly masochistic but we wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. It was worse than the previous year. There is more and more dust. The motorhome space is a dust hub. This year, not even the bar and terrace were being used. The WCs are to be forgotten. The only usable thing was the supermarket. I completely advise against it. I've been camping for 50 years and I honestly think that even in ancient times it was difficult to find a park with so many deficiencies.

Park with few resources. Restaurant and bar close early. Very unfriendly service and only concerned with pleasing foreigners.
The bathrooms have few showers, the entrance to the pool is very exclusive, few electricity points and very hard and limited flooring for setting up tents. The best preserved space is "Dreamsea", a concept where modernist tents are placed to attract a different audience. The rest of the park is abandoned and left in the background.

The Pessegueiro Camping Island has some positive points, such as the stunning sunset and the feeling of isolation, ideal for those seeking a quieter refuge. However, the infrastructure leaves little to be desired. The showers are small, and the absence of paper and soap in the bathrooms is a detail that could easily be improved. In addition, there is little shade and the power points seem insufficient for the capacity of the park. If they invested more in the maintenance and comfort of the campers, this place could be much more attractive.

I had been here for 5 years but less time and had not found much of the tent entrance, with few trees and shadows. This year I risked in the hope of getting better. 5 days of constant failure. When we arrived we were warned that there might not be a point of electicity available due to the crowd. Then we were trying to find a shadow and electricity nearby and place where there were no dust from the cars that were many. We got there at a lot of cost. Every night when we went back to the park the cancellation card didn't open the door and it was just one when we were a couple. The toilets always without hand soap and toilet paper, old shower and with little water to come out, one of them until key, containers full of paper and always dirty floor early in the morning, bad smell in the shower, ceiling light that is turned on very late in the dark and only one of the lamps, taken at an impossible height to reach the dryer (above the mirrors), one day no water was in the toilets at 7:00 in the morning. I do not come back with all certainty and do not recommend to anyone. The worst park I've ever been to.

The description "sea view" brought us to this campsite. The sanitary facilities are typical for Portugal and clean. The view is beautiful: sea and expanse. It is only a short walk, also possible via the Rota Vincentina, to Porto Covo, a pretty tourist town. We would always recommend the site.
