Hotel is easy to find, just a short walk from the bus stop. I was surprised to find my room was actually a small kitchenette, even a tiny wood stove though I didn't need it on a warm Sept. evening. I had a corner room w/ very private patio, just a walk across the grass to the pool. Manager spoke Einglish, was friendly & helpful, also served as bartender. My room was quiet & comfortable, as was the residential neighborhood. Very good continental breakfast & wonderful coffee. Easy walk to shops & restaurants in Porto Covo along a gravel walking path near the hotel.
We stayed in Rosmarinho, a ground floor room with a terrace and sloping grass area. We were on a walking holiday and stayed one night. The pool was lovely, the room was great, breakfast started early at 7:30 which was handy for hiking, our brief visit was just perfect.
Booked room number 18 that had a kitchen. Only later in the evening we found out there was a very strong smell coming from under the stove. First we thought it was our cheese in the fridge but it wasn't, the cheese was fine and something else wasn't. We were settled in and it was very late so we didn't request to get the room changed. Strong smell continued throughout the night. When we checked out we informed reception and their only comment was "I see". If you get checked into room 18 make sure they have done something about the smell in the meantime.
Hotel is ideally situated in village at start of walking trail Rota Vincente through national park. The beaches, coves and coastal trails are stunning. My friend and I had double booked rooms. No problem, staff cancelled the extra room. They provided complementary breakfast and late checkout. They also advised on transport options. Pool is a bonus after a days walking or sightseeing in area.
We stayed here prior to our hiking the Rota Vincentina, staying 2 nights. Our room was clean, comfortable, good shower, good air conditioning. Breakfast was also very good, fresh foods, friendly person setting it all up. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely pool - and spent part of an afternoon sitting comfortably poolside. We had good WiFi in our room. We arrived late morning and they worked to have our room ready by noon - nice!
Staff was friendly and helpful, apartment was quiet and clean. WiFi does not work well in your room; there is a public WiFi area. Pool was open but not heated. The latter two items knocked the rating down one star, but overall I’d have no problem recommending the property.
We stayed here the night before starting to walk the rotavincentina. The accommodation is basic but very clean. It felt a bit damp. Location is very good close to town. Pool area is nice. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. There was some confusion at check in and took a while to sort out our room. It's ok for a night. At €74 I thought a little expensive for what we got.
we stayed here on the night before starting the rota vicentina. the location was great, the front desk helpful, and our experience was very positive. nothing fancy but totally acceptable. I wish the breakfast started earlier so that we could have embarked on the hike before it started to get hot.
Fortunately the hotel is well signed as we arrived by bus in the dark. A pleasant spacious apartment with good facilities. Enjoyed breakfast, staff very pleasant. A 7 minute walk into main restaurant area in town.
There really isn't a lot of accommodation options in Porto Covo, so we picked this apartment hotel knowing it wouldn't be the best. But even our low expectations were not really met. This is a tourist hotel for longer staying Portuguese tourists, with lots of kids. The room was good, with a nice big bed with a firm mattress, but the promised balcony overlooked directly the pool, not the sea, and there was a lot of noise from the pool. The lock of the sliding slatted metal outside gate was broken, so we could not leave the patio doors open and that door closed when out or even through the night. We were given only one passkey, which was a nuisance. Breakfast was rather dreary, little fresh fruit. On the positive, only a short nice walk into town, taking about 10 mins. Wouldn't want to stay here again - waling around town there are some other accommodation opportunities that are not to be (easily) found on the internet.…
