Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location. Service was absolutely faultless; Wilson went out of his way to help in way that he could. Our room was spotless with extra blankets for the cooler Salento nights. Breakfast was delicious and included fresh fruit, local coffee and eggs made to order. We've stayed in several hotels in Salento and Kawa is the best so far.

Incredible stay at this retreat! I loved every moment of the service - from the thoughtful touches of a (delicious) check-in passionfruit tea to helping us book our shuttles to and from the resort to the wonderful dogs. We stayed in the eco-lodge and it was honestly such a retreat. The landscape is beautiful and it was so nice to wake up to that view every day. The included breakfast was also delicious! They grab your WhatsApp number and communicate with you through that. They were great with communication and texted us when our shuttle arrived. Huge, huge, huge thanks to the team. Special shout out to Carlos for a wonderful moment - he helped us order pizza from a local Italian restaurant and shared it with us over a nice conversation over one of my passions. He paid for the pizza upfront since he approached the driver first and then allowed us to pay him back tomorrow. I will always remember that conversation! (Weebdom is universal...) It felt like they all welcomed us into their family, rather than at a hotel. The entire service team was incredible and everyone tried their best to make our experience as thoughtful as it could be. The lodge itself was really nice, from the hammock outside in the patio to the filtered water to the nice, warm, beautifully tiled shower. The only thing was that I laughed at the mirror placement - being 5’2”, I had to tiptoe to see the top of my head. Are Colombians that tall?! It was affordable and one of my favorite stays ever. I’m a bit inclined to not share this, as I want to keep this secret to myself. To be real, it opened last year right before the pandemic and has really suffered, so I really would like to invite more people to come! Have nothing but the highest praises for this place.

We stayed here three nights. The view from our room was breathtaking. The grounds were well maintained and bursting with flora. The chef was world-class, preparing some of the best meals we have had in awhile, all based on local cuisine from a northern region of Columbia. The retreat common area is cozy with a fireplace and Saturday night featured an acoustical guitarist. They have a hot tub and offer massages. The staff was very attentive. The bed was very comfortable and the ceiling shower had hot water with good pressure. While seeming miles away from anything, one can take a five minute walk down a jungle path to the town of Salento. The only negatives are (1) that our room did not have a closet, chest of drawers, hooks or any surface on which we could organize our clothes (or anything else, for that matter) so we had to live out of our suitcases for three days, which was frustrating and (2) the deck chairs, while aesthetically pleasing, were very uncomfortable. I would give the aesthetics of the place a 10 out of 10 but the functionality of our room a 5 out of 10. Never the less, I would recommend this place for the reasons I have mentioned. Overall, we were pleased with our stay here.

We had an incredible stay at Kawa Mountain retreat! This place is truly a gem. The architecture and grounds are beautiful and everywhere you go there are breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains and the sound of the river flowing nearby. We stayed in one of the Eco lodges, which like the entire place is brand new and impeccable. We arrived at the same time as another group and while we waited one of the staff members brought us some complimentary hot maracuya tea which was a delicious welcome treat after a long day of traveling. Not only was the staff very attentive and welcoming, the food here is really something special. Andres, the chef of Bukaru (the hotel's restaurant) put a lot of love and thought into the delicious dishes inspired by his time living in the Colombian Pacific region. We highly recommend the Bukaru ceviche and the Arroz caldoso (like a paella). Important to note: The road from Salento to the hotel is unpaved, steep and narrow, which is not a problem if you are driving a big car but can be challenging for a small car (although we were able to do it).
