Hospitality is the key word. It felt like home. Owner/Host Diego was there for us at all times and organized/guided our excursions in the beautiful Cocora Valley. Unconventional horseback ride is a must.
Great place at 5 mn of car of salento's downtown. I really enjoyed all the talks with the hermanos Diego and Juan which where helpful in order to enjoy our stay. The other people working here are also perfect, always smiling and helping you. I highly recommend the horse excursion into the family's farm. The breakfast is nice with some eggs, beds are good, so you will enjoy the place. Gracias, Kevin y Eloïse.
I came here with my husband and two teenagers ( 13 & 16 years old). The accomodation had everything we needed, the breakfast on the veranda was even a little romantic, and the horseriding experience we will never forget. We walked with the horses through the land ‘that belongs to the farm’ ... and that is a lot including the hillsides you see around. During the horseridingtrip it was just us, one other lady, the owner Diego and his son Pablo and one ‘helpcowboy’. It was a very personal experience. Diego and his son took care of the wishes of our kids, wanting to have the horses also to gallop. For us, there was even an apero-break on one of the highest points we reached. And especially, Diego and Pablo shared with us their happiness Colombia is changing and they shared their pride regarding the finca owned by the family for five generations now. Wonderful experience! One day we will be back and meanwhile we will spread the word. Belgian family - July 2019 …
Our family of 4 (kids ages 16 and 13) spent four nights at Reserva Guadalajara and we cannot recommend it highly enough. When we arrived, we met Diego our wonderful host and by the time we left, he had become our friend. We learned so much from him about Colombia and the wonderful Valle Cocora. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is excellent and it was a great experience to stay outside the town and on a finca. We did not have a car but getting to/from Salento and the surrounding area was not a problem since taxis are inexpensive and readily available. And DO NOT MISS horseback riding with Diego. This was an absolute highlight of our 2-week trip for our entire family. We are home now but are really missing having coffee on that wonderful porch talking with Diego.
Stayed here for only 2 nights in apri. Hostes Diego and Sandra were very kind and helpful. It is a genuine finca so do not expect a box spring and fully pillows made of wool of sheeps from Texel but that is the charm of it. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is fantastic. Although the finca is not near the village, a white car can bring you there anytime for 12000 cop. The finca is situated along the road to Cocora.
