I stayed in the Ibis Styles Palexpo for four nights, and although very convenient for Geneva Airport, the walk between the hotel and airport is in my opinion unsafe especially for women. To get to the hotel from the airport, you have to walk for approx. 10 mins along an unattractive path, between a huge empty exhibition centre and busy motorway. I used this path each day - there does not seem to be an alternative route - and I rarely saw another person, making it feel very deserted and lonely. Unless I was mistaken, I could not see cctv or security cameras anywhere. Which is a bit concerning as there are many bushes and trees along the path where someone could hide. Also at night-time the path is poorly lit. For these reasons I would not recommend this hotel for women on their own. Even though I am a man, I felt uncomfortable walking along this path. The hotel itself is OK, the room and bathroom were fine. Clean and comfortable. However I have deducted a 2nd star as the breakfast was quite basic (only cold breakfast with little choice) and if you want milk for your cereal, there is no milk jug, instead you are told to use the milk from the coffee machine! I saw many guest bemused and confused by this as I was.

We stayed there overnight twice, on our way in and out of Switzerland. This is a small but comfy hotel, within a walking distance from the Geneva airport. The rooms are small but very clean and nicely decorated. The bunk bed above the double bed is sturdy and safe. The staff was friendly and patient with my bad French, although they speak fluent English. There is a nice little park with large lawns across the street, where you can relax after a long flight. Bus route no. 5 passes right next to the hotel and can take you both downtown and to the airport (you get free passes at the reception for the duration of your stay, so you don’t need to buy daily passes). This hotel is good value for the price.

Room ok. No bathroom . Sink in bedroom. Biggest problem was bizarre sockets hexagonal shape recessed. Could not use our travel kettle. ? Swiss design or budget ibis design ? Staff friendly . Had inner room for our cycles.

I use this hotel because it's walking distance from the airport. I booked a room because I had an early flight the next day. When arriving at Ibis Budget Palexpo, the receptionist came out to explain that Ibis Palexpo was closed, despite still taking bookings. The receptionist gave me a bus ticket (had to take two buses) and told me which stop to get off at. I took both buses and got off at the stop she'd written down for me. No Ibis. I phoned Ibis Palexpo, she told me the hotel was close, just to walk down the road (she knew I had huge luggage with me, from my arrival at Palexpo Ibis). Still no Ibis hotel. FINALLY, I found it. But no. STILL the wrong hotel. By this point, I'd been looking for my hotel for 2 1/2 hours. I was stuck in Geneva, no contacts, no one to help. Fortunately, Ibis budget (wrong hotel) got me a taxi which I insisted they pay for. Eventually, I arrived at a 3rd (and correct) Ibis. Located in the middle of an industrial estate. Nowhere near the airport OR the bus stop the receptionist had directed me to. Had to get a taxi to the airport in the morning, 20chf. The shuttle bus they usually offer wasn't running. So much for an easy overnight stay within walking distance of the airport. 1) WHY would Ibis close the airport hotel? The one most likely to be used. 2) WHY would they still take bookings for a CLOSED hotel? 3) WHY would they not arrange transport from the closed hotel to the open one, instead of relying on a public bus system that didn't go anywhere near the changed hotel? 4) Why would they choose to relocate guests in a hotel that is impossible to find, instead of one on a main road (Ibis budge)? 5) Why transfer airport Ibis guests to a hotel with no shuttle to the airport? Very very poor service.

Low prices for this hotel located a few hundred meters from the airport, it is not a charming hotel but a practical hotel, small clean and healthy room, the breakfast service starts very early and it is a great advantage, the staff is friendly and professional, excellent value for money
