Had a wonderful time and location was great! Easy walking to center of town and many restaurants and sites to visit. We meet friends and everyone enjoyed the town and atmosphere around. The staff was great and helpful.
Room was very quiet (we were in the rear of the building). Breakfast delivered to the room every morning was just great. In room coffee would have been a plus, but both the coffee machine and coffee from the thermos in the lobby were just great. Friendly staff and a very convenient location were a plus.
My family and I stayed here for our first night of a week long holiday in Quebec. From the moment we entered, we were disappointed. The staff at the front desk acknowledged us, only after prying themselves away from their cell phones. I noticed that the amount we were being charged was in excess of what we were originally quotes in an email, so I questioned the charge. The girls argued that prices are subject to change so I asked for a manager. The manager came and explained that the girls were new hires and granted us the price we were originally quoted, but upon an attempt to reverse the charge on my credit card, rang the charge in 2 more times, so I now had 3 charges on my credit card totalling about $1200. The manager said I would need to call my bank. I called my bank who advised that until the transaction is posted, there was nothing they could do and the hotel would need to deal with it first. The hotel manager then said by midnight everything should be cleared off the card. This didn't end up being the case. To make a long story short, 7 days, various excuses by hotel management and several angry phone calls later, the charges were removed from my card. We ended up getting the night stay free of charge for all of the aggravation their error caused. The second issue that we had with this hotel, is while it is central to many tourist attractions, they advertise that the hotel is pet friendly, however, the hotel is located in the middle of a street where there is no place for dogs to go to the washroom without walking a distance. We would never recommend this hotel to anyone, as there are many other options in the area with basic rooms like we had that care about their customers' satisfaction.…
Extremely spacious, comfortable room for our family of four. The staffs were amazing in accommodating most of our needs. I wish they could offer the breakfast buffet instead of the cold repetitive breakfast. Tips: You have a bigger car, ask for either number 2 or number 10 parking spot.
Spacious, comfortable room for our family of three. There was plenty of room to move around and multiple options for sitting and lounging. We slept so well in the king bed, and our 17 year old daughter said the sofa bed was comfortable too. The shower was excellent, and the towels were thick and plush. A continental breakfast was delivered to our room every morning by 7 am. The 24 hour espresso machine and automatic wine bar in the lobby were excellent, too. The hotel is on a quiet street but just a quick walk to the Place d'Armes.
We stayed at the Champlain hotel for 4 nights. We had a basic room, which was extremely spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. There was no view at all,the building next door being very 2meters or so away. Most of the staff was very friendly. The minus points were getting breakfast delivered in a bag but having to go downstairs to get a coffee/tea. Cleaning and change of towels were on request. I avoid airbnb to get exactly these services. COVID-19 is not the problem any more, but the lack of staff. We visited 5 hotels in Canada, each one had its own rule from full service to minimum. A coffee machine in each room with replenishment at the front desk like the Ottawa hotel we visited would be better.
This is a great little boutique-style hotel. Very short walk to dozens of restaurants and Dufferin Terrace, Place Royal, and the rest of old Quebec City. The daily breakfast delivery is usually a couple of muffins, croissants, yogurt, and fruit.
This hotel sits in a quiet street but is actually just perfectly situated for all the sights etc . Huge room ,well appointed with lovely bathroom which was well stocked. We were on the 5th floor and it was very peaceful. As we stayed not to long after restrictions were being lifted breakfast wasn't being served in the Restaurant and it got delivered in a bag to your door every morning . To be honest it wasn't very appetising though I'm sure the buffet breakfast is normally fine this wasn't so felt abit let down. Our other complaint was that there are no coffee machines in the rooms so in the morning one of us had to go down to the 24hr coffee station in reception. This served brilliant coffee but was a nuisance having to go up and down. Lovely friendly staff who spoke both French and English and were very helpful. Beautiful clean hotel and we would certainly stay here again …
Excellent location, walking distance to everything. Felt very safe as a solo traveller. I asked for an upper room- 5th floor with a nice view. Room was spacious, had brick wall, large windows that open, air conditioning was good, bathroom was a bit small, but was fine for solo traveller. Very clean, beds comfortable, lots of pillows. Mini fridge in room, flat screen tv, though mostly French channels. Cappuccino machine in the lobby was nice. Did not use the wine bar, but was nice feature. Had a sitting area with large windows. Some staff were friendly and helpful, some not so much. Really enjoyed my stay here! Would definitely recommend. Tip: there is a Small market 10-12 min walk from the hotel to the left past the stone wall of the city, where u can buy bottled water for 69 cents (instead of $3 a bottle)and fruits, snacks, and a bottle of wine for $10-12! The hotel has wine glasses in the lobby by the wine bar, but $8-10 a glass for wine there.…
Bravo to the employees for being so courteous and who knew how to make us feel welcome!!! Wonderful two night stay and great location! Our room was quite nice and the staff, very accommodating. We appreciated the coffee machine in the lobby, which is a nice touch since cafe latte, espresso and cappuccino were available.
