The hotel reception staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is in walking distance to all Old Quebec has to offer. It is close to restaurants and bars.
The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Unbeatable location. One of the best restaurants ever, yes EVER, located at the hotel. Delicious breakfast delivered to the room daily. Would absolutely stay again!
Due to flight delays, we arrived at 1:30 in the morning to check in (which is 12 hours later than anticipated!). Our room on the top floor (4) facing the back was extremely quiet. The breakfasts in the morning are delivered to your door and hung on a hook outside. The croissants every morning were to die for! Couldn't ask for more in the morning (you load up on carbs!). Location is very good, but you will have to walk a bit either to get to all the touristy places on Le Petit Champlain (lower), or straight up the hill to the top. So, that is really the ONLY downside on this place is if you have a lot of activities or want to be near the Chateau and promenade, you do have some heavy hills to climb, or walk to the funicular. We are active, so it was not a hinderance at all. There is a bike rental just one block away from the hotel, which is super convenient, and also plenty of restaurants and the waterfront. Bonus: the 2 chairs in our room (404) may have been the most comfortable we have ever sat in! Looking into who sells them in the US.…
Really nice small hotel, took a little bit time till someone came after I rang the bell for check-in. Everything went smoothly. Parking is possible on the opposite free outside parking lot (15$ excl. tax). Room is nice, cute, equipped with most necessary stuff, good toiletries supplies. Don't offer breakfast buffet but offer small breakfast in a basked in front of the room, it's enough and quite delicious for 2 people. Check out without any problems Good neighborhood, some nice bars and restaurants around and very fast in vieux-Quebec, old city, touristic area.
Awesome place. The hotel is very clean and the staff are awesome. Parking is easy, across the street. The breakfast is on a hook outside your door everyday and the breads are fresh everyday. I would stay again if i get back to Quebec. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!
Friendly staff, lots of recommendations. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Small and quiet. Great location close to historic places and restaurants. I would stay here again. If I were to visit old Quebec City.
Hotel des Coutellier is a first class, boutique hotel in Quebec City and is located minutes from the train station. My husband and I were there for two nights to sightsee and enjoy the fine restaurants of Old Town, which are with walking distance of the hotel. The staff was friendly and the breakfasts were simple but tasty. I'd highly recommend staying here.
Look, you cannot give less the 5/5 for this hotel. They try so hard to please and the attention to detail is stunning. The front desk were wonderful, as are the rooms. We loved the breakfast bag which was delivered to our room each morning. There was a small kitchenette with a microwave, small benchtop oven and coffee machine, including cutlery and crockery. The bed was also very comfortable. Our only niggle was the lack of sound insulation between floors. You hear every bang and bump from above. I had to wear earplugs at night as we had late to bed people above us. If you want to avoid this and have the perfect stay, ask for a room on the 4th floor. It took us 10 minutes to walk from the train station and the old precent is right there beside the hotel. I recommend this hotel!
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay at this hotel. All of the front staff were helpful and accomodating. Our room was spacious and the king sized bed was very comfortable. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The fresh pastries and incidentals delivered outside of your door each morning were appreciated. We enjoyed the location as it was close, but away from the hustle and bustle of Quebec City in July. Thank you and we will be back.
Quaint hotel. The unobtrusive staff that is helpful and knowledgeable. Good location to get to old town. Just remember to go right out the front door and not left and up the hill! Close to both bus and train service as well.
