More than a boutique hotel, Auberge Saint-Antoine is a window on Québec City’s past. Hundreds of artifacts from both the French and English regimes were discovered during an extensive archaeological dig on the property. In this unique contemporary space, the past has been audaciously re-interpreted for you to savour.

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out it was truly a five star experience. Every customer service touch point, amenity and attitude of every staff member added to a perfect getaway. The room, drink, food and location is the best in Quebec. This was our nine year anniversary and will definitely be back for our 20th!

The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the city, waterfront and historic sites, but the real perfection is the staff, at every level. Management is doing a great job of creating a customer-focused, personalized experience from the check-in process, rooms, restaurants and small extras along the way. Comfortable, clean and quiet, plus amazing bathrooms made our weekend very luxurious. Both the restaurants are fantastic, using fresh local ingredients from their nearby farm. Cocktails in the bar were delicious on a rainy night, so we just stayed in and had a wonderful dinner. The extra mile? When we checked out, our car was brought up promptly, and we were given bottles of water and chocolate chip cookies for the road, plus directions to our next destination. Congrats to the entire team at the Auberge Saint Antoine, thanks for taking such great care of us!

I’m writing this review as I’m on the train to Montreal after an egregious mishap by the hotel. However let’s start at the beginning. My girlfriend and I booked a two night stay to celebrate our anniversary. I always choose relais et chateaux hotels because I trust in the caliber of service; this is why I chose auberge this trip. It started off well—we arrived and the front door staff was amazing, welcoming us warmly and taking our bags. the hotel left us two small bottles of rose and strawberries as a welcome gift which was much appreciated. The room is well appointed and although the tv wasn’t working correctly and the electronics were a bit old (cd player—wtf??) it was still fine—we were there to experience QC, not the hotel room tv after all! Front desk is extremely receptive and helpful. When we complained about our tv not working somebody was sent up immediately to check. During his (tall with glasses) visit I offhandedly mentioned I wish I had an aux cord for music because there is no Bluetooth, and after he left he returned with an aux cable! That was a sweet and high touch gesture. We saw incredible fireworks timed to music our second night right outside the hotel. Apparently it happens every Thursday from July-aug at 10pm by the water. Highly recommend! There was a dj and live performances and it’s RIGHT by the hotel. The location of the auberge is fantastic. The bar was also great as were the facilities. The gym is clean and had lots of great, top of the line machines. Now for the fiasco today. We had a bus from QC to Montreal at 11:30. At 10:30 we called downstairs to request a taxi. Front desk dismissed our request and confidently stated that we can just request a taxi at checkout and it’ll arrive immediately. Well the hotel would obviously know best so of course we complied. We come down at 11am to check out and request a taxi. The bus/train station is roughly 6 minutes away. They call and…no. taxi. for. 20. minutes 15 minutes in we are starting to get worried and I tell the front desk this is exactly what we were trying to avoid by calling down early. Still no car by 11:20 though …Luckily Matthew from the front door staff was efficient and proactive and got the hotel car ready for us. However it was 11:25 by then, wish he had done it even sooner. Right as he got the hotel car ready a taxi came. They put us in and we get to the station at 11:35/11:40 and MISS OUR BUS. Next bus isn’t until 330 and we would miss a great chunk of time Waiting around. I call the hotel LIVID and to the front desk supervisors credit she was very patient and attempted to find a solution. However they were unable to book a ticket on the site so Matthew the doorman actually personally came to the station to resolve the situation. He ended up helping us buy two very expensive last minute tickets and we were able to make the 12:30pm train. Unfortunately this all could’ve been avoided had the hotel not been overconfident about the taxi when we called the first time around, as this was exactly what we were trying to avoid given the taxi situation in QC all week. We still wasted an hour waiting around and it was extremely rushed and stressful but I’m thankful for the supervisor and Matthew for sorting out the situation in the end. The service here is indeed unparalleled and I will still give 4 stars because of that. Thank you and I would stay again.

My significant other surprised me for my 65th birthday and I was absolutely delighted with Auberge St. Antoine. The location was perfect for walking throughout the city. Our suite, with a view of the interior gardens, was spacious and beautiful. From the comfortable living room to the heated bathroom floor to the gorgeous soaking tub to the lovely king bedroom, it was all I could have hoped for. Try the smoked salmon breakfast...and be sure to visit the bar where our bartender was very accommodating with our creative drink requests. The staff was so welcoming and helpful and the hotel itself is beautiful. The common area nooks and the artifacts on display throughout the hotel were an added pleasure. I can't wait to return next year for another stay!

Excellent in history and ambiance, but room service and the front desk are below the expectations. The Vallet team is more informative and helpful than the front desk and concierge. The location is exceptional, has historic relevance, and exhibits all around the hallways and rooms are impressive. Service is definitely poor and not worth its money.

We had a wonderful stay. The quality of the rooms was excellent, with a good standard of towels and toiletries and general fittings, but what really made the stay was the staff. Without exception everyone was so friendly and helpful. We had breakfast one day at Chez Muffy, which was very good and featured local ingredients. Unfortunately it was booked solid for dinner during our stay, so we didn’t get to experience. I’ve stayed in many good quality hotels over the years and I’d have to Auberge Saint-Antoine right up there. We would definitely stay again as we would of the brand Relais & Chateaux, which we’d never experienced before, but were impressed with.

My husband and I are currently guests of the Auberge Saint Antoine and our stay has been outstanding! The location of the Auberge is perfect - very short, 5 min walk to the hustle and bustle of Old Quebec but far enough away to feel private, quiet, and personal. The service at the Auberge is outstanding - the staff are available and responsive day and night and have provided exemplary care for all of our needs! Anything we have asked for we have received beyond our expectations. The servicing of our room over our 4 day stay has been done to perfection in a timely manner! We have an electric vehicle and the valets have ensured that we are fully charged and ready to go at all times - no questions asked and not instructions needed! Top notch service! We are so pleased with our choice to stay at the Auberge Saint Antoine - we will recommend it to our family and friends! It is the hidden gem!

We had high expectations; they were exceeded. Frommers says this is “one of the most memorable and splurge-worthy hotels in Quebec City.” They are correct. We stayed 2 nights in Room #402 which has a beautiful view of the St Lawrence River (not just a partial view). The room was well appointed with a nice bathroom (which had a tv and a phone). Very comfortable. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bell captain was outstanding and went out of his way to provide the service we needed. One thing people should know (we did not) was that the entrance is on Rue Saint-Antoine, a one way street off of Rue Dalhouse (the street running along the water). Valet parking right under the hotel. One recommendation for visitors like us who have never been here is to ride the ferry at night to Levi’s to get photos at night of the Chateau Frontenac; the ferry is essentially across the street. Also across the street is an excellent tour boat (which we took during the day).
