Manager treats everyone terribly with the excuse that it is a low-budget hostel and "you get what you paid for." After the worst service of my life, the manager told me that if I didn't like it, I should just leave and go somewhere else, but get this, he wouldn't give me a refund. ??? PLEASE I do not wish this experience for anyone.

terrible manager and/or owner. Owner takes no pride in their work and provides the bare minimum if that. The worst service and shortest temper I've ever seen in a person. Please avoid at all costs, even if it means having to pay more. I'd pay triple the price not to stay here again.

The true is that it was our cheapest option. It was quite last-minute. The guy at the reception was quite helpful. the room was clean, the sharable bathrooms are small but works. Sharable kitchen was clean and without any problems. At the top of hostel is good terrase where you can NOT smoke which is pity. We really like the location of the hostel. It's 8 minutes by walking from train station and at the peripheral of down town. So our resume is that we was satisfied.

I'm so glad I only stayed here for one night. I've been in some pretty grim places but usually it's cheap or the staff are overly friendly. Not this place... The owner who greeted me could do with a personality transplant. The beds were the worst I've slept on, with no ladders for top bunks, loud and squeaky. The tiny toilets had no soap or towels. The tiny shower had no ventilation or space to move. The place was old and dirty. I honestly wouldn't mind so much but it was a lot more expensive than the two other hostels I stayed at in Québec and both were MUCH nicer. If this place was half the price or less I would have been happy with what I got. On a positive note, I met some nice people here and the location is in the Saint-Roch area which is decent for bars, although not directly in the old part of town. Unless every other hostel in Québec city is booked, I wouldn't suggest spending a night here.…

awful, awful manager. Doesn't care about anything except himself. If everyone read the reviews, he'd have no business. People only go there because its cheap and think it lets the manager subject them to abuse.

This hostel isn't good if you arrive late at night at their closed hours, be prepared. Too much noise at night caused poor sleep. Wifi wasn't good, in some rooms the signal was almost none.Bathrooms and rooms were not cleaned properly, not clean at all

Owner instead of being helpful for foreigner arriving late in the evening was very rude and wanted to show off his big EGO! I was very tired after 8 hours driving a car, it was late and raining. I asked him to explain me where can I park the car and he had problem with that. Either his or mine English is not good, he said "it is on the right" and then he was showing left hand to go to the left out of hostel. He made me very concerned. However when I asked him second time to be more precise he exploded, was screaming at me to leav his place and that he will not let me stay in hostel. Literally he made me sleep on the street in a rainy evening !!! When I got to the car I have realised that on cancellation he does not give back money - he simply robbed me !!! I paid for my stay and also for car park, he trows me away and I loose money ! When I returned back to him to ask about my money he was screaming all the time not letting me to speak. I was not able to ask him anything because he was repeating like robot "I will not let you stay here, you are not listening to me, I will teach you how we are in Quebece" ... not very good advertisement for the city though. Again left alon on the street I noticed police car passing by and I stopped them. When through widnows he saw me talking to them he jumped out of the building, and came to us and start talking fast in french. My french is not that good but can figure out when someone use speaks bad words of me. In the end I came across with my words to the police officers that I want my money back for the reservation and they said he will do it. All this event took around 2 hours between he trow me out and talk to police. Before he was not keen to give me back my money. I do not know the hostel but owner has high, as I learned Quebecqua-iss ego... Not good for the city to have this kind of hosts. Hopefully other hostels are good. Because of no place to sleep I simply left the city leaving bad memories behind.…

We arrived in the evening and a very grumpy man (the owner) opened the door and told us to come back tomorrow because they were "closed" and he can not do anything about this, because he only works in the restaurant (lie!!) We wanted to show him our reservation confirmation but he just yelled at us and slammed the door in our faces!

I've stayed for three nights in this hostel in a private room. Due to a lot of noise of the bar just in front of the hostel, I couldn't sleep. Bad plug inns. Poor hygiëne. No hot water in unclean and very small bathrooms.

My phone was dead, and my friends made my reservations for me. Their hostel owner would not let me contact my friends by any means because they were upstairs. The hostel owner called me racist remarks towards my Chinese ethnicity and then boasted about how he will run his hostel "his" way. I offered to pay for a new room just to get myself housed and the owner again refused me because he "disliked me." and threatened to call the police if I don't leave. Do not support this business ever.
