The price was acceptable. We arrived at 3pm, when checking was supposed to start. All doors were locked. We went back at 4pm, and doors still locked. No way to contact anyone associated to the property. Finally got self checked in. Noticed on checkin email, that there was a no noise/party comment. Music from event room was so loud (until 230am) that we had to turn the TV up louder. At around 11pm, a lady was in the hall banging on a door yelling and screaming at the top of her lungs, for at least 40 minutes. Again, no way to contact anyone at the porpperty.
**cracks knuckles** I've been eager to write this review since the minute we stepped into the "lobby" of this "hotel." Let's start with the positives. Good location! Easy to find! And the attached restaurant is legitimately good (albeit slow). Now. Everything else. If you read the fine fine print, the listing says that "some" of the rooms "on the upper floors" are accessible only by stairs. But fuss is made that the rooms accommodate wheelchairs. (This post is not about any personal inconvenience to me or my family - we do not use wheelchairs. This post is about deceptive descriptions of the property which will, in fact, impact anyone. But especially anyone with a physical disability.) No where does it say that the lobby itself is accessibly only by stairs. We hauled our bags up to the "lobby" where the "staff" barely deigned to drag herself out from behind the desk when our passcode wouldn't let us in. When we asked where the elevator was, she said there wasn't any and started to walk away. When I asked where the parking was, she said there was "an issue" and there wasn't any and that we should just find some. (Eventually, some fellow guests -- who were also severely disappointed in the property -- shared their solution with us and we found parking. Still waiting on a reply to a Tweet I'd sent to the property asking for help ... and that was about a week ago.) This isn't a "boutique" hotel. This is a chain. With management not available onsite to help trouble shoot. And clearly with staff not empowered to solve problems. The room itself was relatively fine. The restaurant was loud at night. The shower is degrading and sharp pieces of grout literally came out each time we showered -- sharp pieces which we stepped on and tossed out. This reads like a property owned by some investment bros who don't care about hoteling (or guests) and are in it for a quick buck.…
This boutique hotel is well located in downtown Moncton (short walk to tidal bore viewing, e.g.) but the emphasis is on sleek decor more than convenience. You get an email with key codes to check in. The person I spoke at the "virtual help desk" number was useful and accommodating to an early arrival, and the virtual help desk apparently operates out of the hotel lobby, but no staff are on site during the night. No elevators, and the stairs are steep and narrow, but we appreciated being on the third floor nonetheless since it lessened the amount of noise from the live music in the restaurant below the hotel. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was stylish. Our "view" was to a air well but at least that kept things quiet.
This is a fine hotel with very well thought through rooms. Lots of detail to make your stay very nice. Would be full stars but my booking stated 'breakfast included' and there wasn't any... It's a self check in and out so there was nobody to ask either. Sent a couple of messages but no reply - disappointing as otherwise I would have highly recommended this place.
We have stayed here several times ! This visit was disappointing to say the least Did not get the room we reserved Money was stolen from our room during housekeeping ? And upon arrival to our room ..food was left in the fridge from the previous guests ( during COVID ) ! Very unsettling after spending previous uneventful visits
We dont know if covid has played into any of this but for $226 for a one night stay I would expect the basics as advertised like room service. There was no one on the reception desk for hours throughout the evening and into the night and there was no one answering the kitchen phone. We had to walk downstairs to the restaurant and put in an order. There was no hot water!! Lets say there was cold water and less cold water. And in the morning there was no sugar in the “breakfast” area. Apparently no one notified management that they were out of sugar. The electric baseboard was turned off and the heat pump was the only source of and the room was cold and the bathroom was awfully cold with no source of heat. Seems to be WAaayyy over priced for what it is!
Excellent small hotel - well-appointed, comfortable, clean, stylish rooms. Robes, amenities and ample towels. Bed very comfortable. Staff cheerful, attentive and helpful. Terrific value. Food and service in the restaurant were outstanding.
Room was small. No view or natural light. Staff friendly. The water pressure was so low shower did not work and restaurant downstairs took all the hot water. The worst was the continental breakfast. No juice, fruit, only two cellophane wrapped muffins and poor coffee selection. Pathetic! I had higher hopes.
The facility is very elegant and modern. The staff are very efficient and friendly. I have been to a few events and had my own wedding there and every experience has been above and beyond. The hotel rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The food is delicious and several guests at my wedding said it was the best chicken they ever had! Erika, the event coordinator, is very friendly and professional who paid great attention to detail which made planning our wedding easy and fun. The only con is the top floor of hotel is only accessible by stairs limiting anyone with difficulty with mobility. The main floor rooms do have elevator access however. Over all my lasting impression is a great space to host an event and very comfortable rooms with unforgettable food!
We booked a Junior Suite with a King Bed and we were given a regular room with a queen bed. When I asked for a price adjustment the next day, I was given one but they certainly should have informed me when I checked in -- which they did not. In addition, the room had no outside-facing window. The only window faced into the building. Seriously claustrophobic. Also, as others have noted, the band played in the bar until 1 AM and the bass pounded our room even though it was on the 3rd floor and I was assured that we wouldn't hear it. Moncton didn't have much to recommend it and this place didn't help matters.
