Excellent service and good value. We stayed two nights during the March Break. And there were kids everywhere. The hotel was family friendly - the staff interacted easily, and they set up free popcorn, cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby. The pool is not too deep, perfect for kids, and the water slide is long, with some turns, but too fast or twisty. No lifeguards, but they did have attendants and everything was clean and organized. Our room with double queen beds felt a bit small, but they were well organized, and the mattresses were comfortable.
Exceptional service! Front desk staff took care of our needs and made sure our stay would be quiet by moving us to a higher floor away from March Break family fun. Our room was clean and spacious. Highly recommend staying here if attending Capital Theatre performances.
Absolutely revolting hotel. Dirty floors, EXTREMELY incompetent and RUDE staff. Management is even worse. Window in the room was absolutely FILTHY could barely see through it. HAIRS all over the sheets. MOLD in the shower. DIRT on the floors. POOL area should be condemned, disgusting. Moncton has better options. Hampton Inn is beautiful.
The good: Stayed here for a hockey tournament and the hotel did a great job of providing space for parents and teams to socialize in the conference rooms thereby keeping the parties out of the rooms. The hotel was reasonably quiet given that it was full of kids' hockey teams. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Reasonably good gym and a pool for the kids. The Bad: Very long line for check-in, and some team members waited over an hour to get checked in. Only two elevators for a very large building and they are poorly maintained. One went out of service and the other had door-closing issues creating very long waits. Mini fridge in the room failed, causing the loss of our weekend's tournament food. Parking is outrageously priced for a small city. $17/day. Room rates were also excessive for an old building. Building is showing its age with old ceilings, old carpets and small windows Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are much newer, nicer hotels in downtown Moncton that are priced the same or better.…
Hotel (and Spa) was OVERPRICED and DISSAPOINTING. I STRONLY SUGGEST TAKING A PASS ON THIS PROPERTY, CHANCES ARE YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH (go to Chateau Moncton instead). One would think the hotel would gain in 'wowing' first time guests but not these guys. The hotel was empty throughout our mid-week stay yet out of all available views, we were offered a FULL GARBAGE VIEW with the added bonus of being woken up at 5h40am by the back up alarm and KLING KLANG of the garbage truck making its rounds. The basic room was too SMALL for a couple, we felt CRAMPED throughout our 3 night stay. The PILLOWS were tired and fell FLAT quickly which made them HARD, we both woke up SORE.The room was UNCLEAN (hairs in shower, garbage found near the bed..). Amenities were UNREPLENISHED (in-tub shower gel bottle completely empty, 1 empty roll + half a roll of toilet paper were left with no extra backup). Other amenities were completely missing and when we mentionned this to the reception manager she promptly apologized and had half of it sent to the room (I had to ask again for the rest of it). The POOL area was DIRTY and UNINVITING, our bathing suits stayed in our suitcases. All in all, our stay at this location was a FAIL and the inhouse OPAL SPA service was UNSATISFACTORY. I was not given the service I originally booked and had to pay for it anyway. I thought the esthetician was working her way up to it but next thing I knew the treatment was over and I had absolutely not received what I had ordered. At time of booking, I was led to believe that what I wanted was automatically included in the service selected but once all was said and done, the staff infomed me that what I wanted was extra and needed to be added in the notes at time of booking (which was not done by the spa). I calmly voiced all of this and yet the ESTHETICIAN DID NOTHING TO REMEDY THE SPA'S ERROR . I didn't feel like fighting it so I paid and left. In the end, we decided not to press our luck further and cancelled our Windjammer restaurant reservation for fear of being left feeling like real suckers yet again. This spa retreat ended up being more frustrating than rejuvenating. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO HOTEL OR SPA.…
Was hoping for a quiet and refreshing stay while on a layover in Moncton. What a disaster. #1, RUDE FRONT DESK STAFF. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. Plain and simple. Unprofessional at every step. Had to change rooms due to uncleanliness. Sheets had a stain. Bathroom sink didn't drain. Carpets filthy. Dark hallways. FILTHY and REVOLVTING pool area, totally unacceptable. This hotel should seriously be condemned
My family and I booked a night stay for Friday, November 11th. On Tuesday, Nov. 8th there was a weather alert for all Maritime provinces about sever rain warnings and high winds. We decided to cancel the reservation and would rebook a another time since we are travelling with a 5 month old and a 2 year old. Well, when we cancelled the reservation came up non refundable… so I called and asked why since it was 3 days in advance and was told there was nothing they could do. So I asked if I could simply reschedule the booking since that was our intention anyways. I was told it would need to be requested to management and they would get back to me in 3-5 days. Well it’s been a week now and I’ve called back 2 more times. They have told me that they didn’t even have record of my initial request and that there’s nothing they can do. BUT they said if I would have rescheduled the booking in the first place it wouldn’t have been an issue. I explained that that’s all that we wanted but again was told someone would get back to me in a couple days. The fact that we gave 3 days notice, have called multiple times, AND there was a public weather warning hasn’t seemed to make a difference. Just looking for some type of understanding and compromise. We can not control the weather and we have tried to find a solution but frustrated that no one is getting back to us and refusing to allow us to reschedule.…
The Delta Moncton is centrally located but that's where the positives stop. This hotel had extremely rude staff, check in was disorganized and the wait was unacceptably long. The room was not clean. The A/C did not work. TV was unplugged. Pool area was not acceptable. Extremely dirty.
Yet again the tour group solo travelers get left over rooms. End of corridor, walk to window to open curtains for a stunning view of…roof air conditioning unit! I think there is a river somewhere out beyond the black metal structure. And it hums, constantly. I turn on the room AC unit to maybe disguise the other noise - IT RATTLES! I paid same as all the other members of our tour so I go down to reception. I will need to first pack up all my things then call them and they will bring me the new room key. Ah, the new room is lovely and quiet and turns out I get a beautiful sunrise. Meanwhile in between new room assignment I met a couple of other tour members for dinner. Our only choice was the hotel as it was Labor Day and everything else is closed. In the restaurant it quickly became clear hostess stressed to have to seat our group of 4, plus 2 others that Claudia invited. After negotiations we got a table. I secured the menus for us; the poor waitperson didn’t need more stress. I also refilled out water; I wasn’t pushing her, just trying to lighten her load. Food was terrible; it is possible to mess up nachos by using poor quality chips (what were those things?). We decided to go with a bottle wine instead of 4 individual orders. The connoisseurs in the group picked a C$41 bottle - gulp; technology allowed bill to only be split 3 ways, not 4 - there was a couple effectively making for only 3 bills. Oh and those extra 2 never showed. I thought hotel had 2 pools, one a salt water pool. I only found one pool and it wasn’t salty. Did get a maintenance man to turn off the blaring music, then it proved more enjoyable experience. Had to call front desk to activate water slide so I passed on that. Feels so good to move in the water especially after an active day.…
This location used to be considered one of Monctons best hotels. It is still a good hotel but it is not one of the best anymore. The rooms are clean, bedding is up to date and if this is all you require, you will have a great stay. Their bathrooms could be updated and the restaurant could use a face lift. We had a nice stay, just nothing extra special.
