Granville House is located within a beautiful neighbourhood with excellent transportation connections. A reasonable taxi fare gets you downtown or to the airport. But once you check in it’s hard to leave - the house & suites are so comfortable & well maintained. The breakfast fare was interesting, delicious & plentiful. But the bonus was the owners & their staff - friendly, helpful & very competent. Randy & Pam don’t just host, they are the source of unlimited local information & if you’re lucky Pam will decide to bake some delicious treat & you’ll get to breakfast before they’re all gobbled up. Our week at Granville House was too short.

Beautiful house, comfy bedding, luxury accommodation. The staff was very knowledgeable and gave us dining and sightseeing recommendations. Breakfast was tasty- a baked apple custard and stoneground oats. They are updating their furniture this week so it will be even nicer.

We booked the only downstairs room, which made dealing with our heavy luggage less of a hassle. The photo of this property makes it look like it's on a quiet street in the nice part of town, only the nice part is accurate. The front faces a busy, noisy street with 3 lanes each way and fast traffic at all hours. You have to park around back and take your bags down a side passage to climb the stairs to the front door. The rooms have no A/C so if you need to open the windows, it's noisy as hell. Our room was really nice but a bit small, better suited for weekenders with small carry on bags. The breakfast was terrific! Michelle, the lady who pretty much handles all the nitty gritty, was great! She helped us with info, suggestions and directions. This location is ideal for those who wanna avoid the crowded, high traffic, no parking spaces nightmare of downtown Vancouver. The location is 5-10 minutes from all of that but if you drive, prepare for parking hassles galore! We never met the 2 owners, maybe they were at their other property. This is a nice stay overall but not your typical B&B experience.

I recently spent 6 nights at Granville House on vacation. My stay was very enjoyable. Michele and Cybele were professional in taking care of their guests and were very helpful and patient with my numerous queries on things to do etc in Vancouver. Granville House itself has a comfortable and homely feel. Rooms that look onto Granville street are exposed to traffic noise, which may not suit the light sleepers among us. Overall though. because of its great location and excellent staff, I would recommend Granville House to visitors to Vancouver and hope to return myself in the not too distant future.

Granville House is a very comfortable and accommodating place to stay at. The room is very cosy, clean and quiet. The hosts Randy and Pam are extremely nice and helpful. However, this is a B&B and not a hotel which is something to keep in mind. This means a lot of stuff is self service and you don't always have someone available to tend to issues that may arise (which we've had a few).

Very central location. Very quiet which surprised me as it is right on Granville street. Comfortable bed. Great shower! Our host was very welcoming. He called a taxi for us and the driver took side streets to get us to our destination quickly. Breakfast in the morning was just right. We will definitely stay here again.

We Have an amazing stay at Randy’s house . First of all the house is so beautiful. We feel his house so cozy, confortable and you feel like your own house. All the services are perfect. Breakfast is so nice and tasty. And also the location is great , it’s situated very closed to the center.

We stayed at Granville House for a quick overnight trip to see a play at the Stanley. Pam is a wonderful and welcoming host. The house is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable furnishings abound. We stayed in the Elm suite and the bed was heavenly. The breakfast was delicious and bountiful. Would definitely recommend this place and would happily stay here again. Thank you Pam!

Comfortable accommodations. However, a hostile atmosphere was created by the snide comments made by the host. I was eating Lebanese takeout in the dining room area at a table instead of bringing food into my room. They walked by and said that they would need to open a window implying that my food had an offensive odour. It had zero odour and was being consumed in an area designed for eating. Also, someone mistakenly thought the host couple was homosexual and the host replied by saying it's "not that kind of B&B".

Response from HycroftSuites, Owner at Granville House B&B
Responded 21 Apr 2018
Thank you for your “comfortable” review Raphael, but I find your review dishonest & slanderous. My 10pm dinner conversation was not snide, but very direct. Before you sat down in the Breakfast Area, I politely requested that you "please eat in your room" and that "it is not customary at B&Bs for guests to use the breakfast area for late night dinning, as these rooms are typically prepared for breakfast without late night staff to change over", but you went ahead anyways. Yes, we did have to open the windows due to the garlic & spice of your Lebanese food, as one of our guests was hypo-allergic to cleaning detergents and perfumes, plus we try to keep a neutral smell in the house for all guests. As for your Homophobic comment, a repeat guest did call Pam “my husband”, which we laughted about when I replied that she is actually my wife. Of course, as B&B owners, we are LGBT friendly and an equal opportunity employer, but I must admit I do not suffer fools well. We also made note of your late night dietary request regarding "no pork", which we accommodated for you every day as you did not inform us that you were leaving early for meetings and skipping breakfast anyways. We understand B&Bs are not for everyone, but as a category, we offer an owner managed home environment which is very different then the bargain corporate hotels you "typically book". More than half our guests repeat, and half of those travel for business and prefer us over the local Best Western or Holiday Inn, even if there are a few more rules. I suggest B&Bs are not for you.
