The Sylvia Hotel is a designated heritage building, ideally located on English Bay, beside Stanley Park and just 5 minutes from downtown Vancouver. Built in 1912, the Sylvia Hotel is a city landmark and one of Vancouver's greatest treasures. The location is a favorite for business travelers wanting to be out of the busy downtown core, for families vacationing on the beach or for romantic getaways. The Sylvia Hotel is definitely one of Vancouver's best kept secrets. The old fashioned character and friendly service gives travelers a home away from home. The Sylvia Hotel offers a fantastic location, great value, superb quality with a wonderful beach-side dining experience!

We needed to stay in Vancouver because of a young grandson being in Children's Hospital. We asked for a comfortable room where we could relax from time to time. We were given a beautiful corner room with king-size bed, a lovely couch, dining set and a small but efficient little kitchen. The care they took with us in our circumstances was the best! At one point we needed a quick snack and the kitchen sent it up to our room within 10 minutes. What a gift to be at the Sylvia.

Hotel's Favourite
The Sylvia has great charm, great service and a fabulous location. Right across from English Bay beach and paths, around the corner from Lost Lagoon, a couple of blocks from the restaurants of Denman Street. Couldn't ask for more. If you can afford it, book a corner suite - windows that open, lots of light . . .

My wife and I love staying at the Sylvia which we have done several times over the years. There is no other hotel in Vancouver with this combination of comfort, Olde English Style and history. This year was during COVID restrictions but immediately after the lifting of local only travel and no indoor dining. One could see that the past year had been hard on the tourist business in general and the Sylvia in particular. Linen service had been cut back to once every three days. We did not known this but the maid gave us fresh towels when we needed them. The front desk associates let us use the Meeting Room for a very small bridge party. Very nice! We had breakfast in the hotel dining room: limited menu but good dishes and excellent service. My only complaint and a mild one is that the bed was too soft - much like the one we have at home. So my wife liked it just fine.

Older hotel filled with character and history. Out top floor suite was spacious and comfortable. 2 Queen beds and 1 Double bed allowed for a good night's rest. Perfect location across English Bay and next to Stanley park. Hotel close to restaurants and coffee shops you do not need a vehicle to discover and enjoy downtown Vancouver. Will make sure I bring my well behaved Golden next visit as The Sylvia loves dogs!! Thank you for a wonderful weekend stay!

We have stayed at the Sylvia Hotel a couple other times and it feels like coming to our Vancouver home. Everyone is so welcoming, the hotel full of character, and our room was super comfy. Being able to step out the door to English Bay and steps away from Stanley Park is amazing.
