We were less than thrilled last year with the condition of our room but this year we stayed on a newly renovated floor and the room was outstanding. The location downtown is very convenient to drive to but also once there you can walk or take sky train pretty much everywhere. We only used room service for breakfast but the food and service was outstanding.

Hotel's Favourite
This is a great and absolutely clean hotel with excellent staff. I am paranoid about cleanliness and this place was wonderful. They are updating some of the currently outdated (and in still excellent condition) features of this Vancouver landmark. This hotel has been around for years and with the renovations will again be a premier location in B.C.💯

I had stayed 2 nights at another very fine hotel that was WAY too close to a 24-7 7-11 location downtown. Being kept up from 3:50-5:30 a.m. was NOT how I wanted to spend my vacation. I spent the 3rd night at the Sutton. WOW. What a difference. As I'd only stayed at the Sutton in Chicago for a birthday years ago, I'd forgotten just how luxurious, quiet, and SOLID this hotel is. The bedding, the shower, the toiletries, the coffee, the location - all these were fine. BUT - the best part for me was the sheer beautiful silence of being on the 14th floor, in a fabulous neighbourhood, and knowing that I was going to get a wonderful night's sleep. I only wish I'd booked all THREE nights there isn't of just one. Next time, baby!! Next time I'll remember. ;)

service levels way below their former standards. Staff were very quick to blame everything on COVID instead of finding solutions. I'm sure that has some effect, but other hotels seem to manage. As a guest you are required to give 24 hours notice if you want your room serviced, so if you arrive on a Friday evening and stay for 2 nights, good luck getting your room serviced! garbage left in hallways for +12 hours, so one assumes that there are no security rounds made. Used to a great hotel, but no longer. Good thing there are lots of other hotels in Vancouver to stay in. One positive was the Bell Captain/Doorman, a long time employee from when the hotel was known as the Le Meridian and it was a true 5*

My wife and I stayed at the Sutton Place Vancouver in mid-July 2021 for 4 nights. We had a corner room with King bed on the 17th floor - great views of downtown Vancouver! Our room was comfortable and clean. Very comfortable bed with nice linens. The bathroom was decent size, although the shower cabin was on a smaller side. Both were really outdated - I understand the hotel is undergoing a much needed renovation. The breakfast was not included in the rate, however no restaurant was open in the morning to provide breakfast either. It's not the end of the world but it's an inconvenience and a nuisance for a 4-5 * hotel. Wi-fi was fast. Location is great for exploring downtown Vancouver. IGA, Shoppers, Tim Horton's, Starbucks are close by. Lots of restaurants around as well.
