I stayed at the hotel for a couple of weeks. The price is fair considering you are in Downtown close to everything and no extra bills (electricity, water, Wi-Fi) are required. The hotel is pretty close to E. Hastings, so if you don’t want to be around the drug users just avoid the street, which is a block away. Bathrooms and bedroom were clean enough most of the time. No bedbugs at all but I saw cockroaches twice inside the wardrobe during my stay.
I have been here 5 years ago, not very good but cheap and in the middle of Gastown. I came back again last week and OMG. - BIG SURPRISE Lots of changes and improvements. Very clean, quite and internet in each room. Definitely YES, I'd stay here any time I'll be in Vancouver and I'll recommend it to all my friends.
It's very good place in heart of Gas town. Yes, it;s on Hastings Street but there is 24 hours/ 7 days front desk, security camera. Washroom and kitchen are cleaned every day rooms every week. They change the bed's sheet every 2 weeks. And the price????????? It's very cheap for what you get there
... I woke up to a cozy, lazy rainy Vancouver Sunday day today and just wanted to sit in bed, sip my coffee and enjoy some stress free Instagram cruising. Pretty good way to unwind on a Sunday morning I thought. That would have been, had the WiFi worked ... Wifi is free yes... but doesn't work. Good luck getting a signal. Most other guests don't even get a wifi signal in their room. The shared kitchen space doesn't get wifi. The only place with decent wifi is the ground floor lobby... but hotel staff don't like you loitering there... so basically the hotel has no wifi or internet access. To get internet you'll have to contact the local internet provider and have them come and install the service to your room at your cost. This is expensive in Canada.
There are so many things wrong with this hotel - I'll stick to five main reasons not to stay here, for simplicity. 1) Even though they advertise that they have televisions, there is actually NO cable. Oh, great, there's a tv... with one channel.. the 24 hour static channel. 2) You have to pay $20 dollars for any guests that visit you. 3) The internet is extremely slow. . . like 1999 dial up slow. 4) There are lots of cockroaches and mice here. Sorry, I'm not Cinderella, I do NOT want little mice friends singing songs to me all day. 5) And lastly, the hotel is situated in one of the worst neighbourhoods in Canada. I'm talking like tent city here.
