My stay was fine, but the ranking of this property is very inflated. On closer inspection, many reviewers have 0 or 1 previous reviews, which makes me suspicious. I am a little mad at myself because I am generally much more savvy than this. This is def not the #2 property in Vancouver. There are many better properties in better locations around the same price point. The location is fine, but not great). It’s small which is fine … but it is not particularly charming. The service was fine … very nice staff. The room was fine (very plain, no character). The excellent shower was likely the highlight. Nice that they had bathrobes. I have no major complaints, but many little things that detract from the experience. No refresh of the rooms for a 3 night stay so I had to seek more nespresso pods and sugar. No creamers in the room. No fridge, no chair. Lots of problems with the key cards and my door did not close properly. Guests have to put their garbage in the halls or call for pickup. If you are travelling in December, at this price point, I recommend one of the larger properties that do a great job of decorating for Christmas. In summary, it’s fine, but please manage your expectations and consider all your options.…
We had a 2 night stay booked at the end of a 3 week road trip and from the minute we checked in at reception, we had first class treatment right through our stay. We were even reminded that we stayed at the hotel exactly 7 years ago the exact same time! We had 2 breakfasts booked and 1 night dinner reservation for the last night of our stay and the food and service was outstanding. We had a lovely room at the front of the hotel overlooking the main road but with such comfortable beds, we had the best 2 nights sleep! We were so happy to come back and stay at this lovely hotel and would always recommend to anybody wanting a stay in Vancouver.
Amazing location, lovely interior and comfy room, very friendly and professional staff, would love to come back!!! Make sure to check out a brunch place near the hotel, the staff can get you on the list.
We spent two nightclub the re goino and returning from Whitehorse. The rooms were clean and beds confortabile. We had Also a dinner at the restaurant, good quality of both food and wine, and waiters were very kind. Also the personnel at concierge very efficient and cordial
Quick review. This boutique hotel is excellent for a luxury stay in Vancouver. Staff, room, location, pool were all great. Felt like fair value as well, as I'd prefer this hotel to Pacific RIm which is significantly higher cost. One star deduction- the bed was not great (could feel springs), and the pillow was way too thick. In the closet the other pillows were the same- so was an uncomfortable sleep. I'm always surprised when hotels don't have the superior and inexpensive foam mattresses, and at least a backup pillow of a different type in the closet.
Have just stayed for our third time this year at L’Hermitage. Each stay was exceptional from checking in to our check-out. ALL staff are always friendly and helpful, the hotel is quiet, secure & in a great downtown location close to shopping and dining. Our rooms have been very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We look forward to our next stay at L’Hermitage. Eric & Lynne R.
This hotel was our favourite in a trip that involved 6 cities and 6 hotels. The staff were attentive and welcoming. We felt relaxed and almost at home in the comfortable and beautiful appointed room. I very much appreciated their attention to making sure I had gluten free breakfasts. It’s central location made it easy to walk around and see the city. Would definitely recommend it as a great place to stay.
This hotel is consistently superb on every possible level! I've stayed a number of times, and have always loved my time there. Staff members are friendly, helpful, and also very knowledgeable about the local area. The location is perfect; you're just a few minutes walk from transit options and shopping, but you're tucked away from the noise of nightlife and traffic. The hotel itself is immaculately clean, bright, and welcoming. All of the rooms are wonderfully designed and very comfortable; it honestly feels like a real treat to stay here. I've never used the lap pool, but it looks really nice. The food in the restaurant is lovely (I'd recommend trying dinner there even just once), and the ambience in the restaurant is really relaxing. Overall, it's always a real treat for me to stay at L'Hermitage, and I look forward to returning when I visit Vancouver again. Thank you to all the team at the hotel who make every stay so lovely.…
The hotel is nice but they warn you that they will not change your sheets, towels, etc. for several days, which is fine by me. However, I stayed three nights and nobody came in to empty the trash cans, wash the dirty coffee cups or do the bed. Again, no big deal because I was on a business trip and wasn't there much but a third espresso pod for my third day would have been nice...
Nice, clean hotel. We love the salt water pool. Staff were very friendly and polite. It's convenient located for easy shopping, concert going, good restaurants and everything is close by as we were going there for Roger's Arena. Good location!
