The place is set up very nice and comfortable and very clean. From the comfy beds and bedding to the jacuzzi tub to the nice full shower. The meals and everything about the place and the way Andree makes you feel at home is what made it a wonderful and highly recommended place to stay. This coming from someone who got very ill and had pneumonia and thanks to the place and the the caring of the host was able to get through trying to perform and feeling like it was home away from home at the sickest I have ever been. Thank You so ooo much Randy P.s the food was amazing
Andrees is a very homey and welcoming B&B. We stayed for eight nights and felt from the beginning as if it were our own home. Guests have exclusive use of a very cozy, well-decorated living room that opens out onto a deck full of flowers and comfortable furniture. It has a gorgeous view of the harbor and part of the town below. If you're lucky enough to experience a Prince Rupert sunset, this is definitely the place to see it! And, if you look closely, you may see a resident bald eagle family. The house is a renovated "heritage home" built sometime in the 20s perhaps. The owners have decorated the living areas with various artifacts from that era and with items that speak to Prince Rupert's link with the sea and its history. We had Room #4, the largest, with a view of the harbor, and our own private bath with an old-fashioned clawfoot tub--charming. With the bracing sea air breezing in through a window, we slept very well indeed. Breakfasts were very nicely done and varied; the cycle only repeated after six days, and ranged from frittatas to french toast to an excellent porridge with raisins and brown sugar. And, Andrees is only a couple of blocks from Cow Bay, and 3-4 blocks from most other main attractions. We felt that Andrees was an excellent value for money and would not hesitate to book it again were we to pay a return visit to PR. Jill & Byron Flateland Arvada, Colorado, USA…
Andree waited up for us as we came off the Inside Passage Ferry well after 11pm. We stayed for 3 nights. Staying at Andree's is like staying with an old friend. Once you have your room Andree leaves it with you and it is yours alone for your stay. It is an open house so you can come and go as you please. The 1920s house is in a quiet residential area yet only a few minutes walk to Cow Bay. Our room overlooked the front garden and we had a large separate bathroom. As no-one else was staying in the smaller room next to us Andree let us spread out in there. This was great as we had been travelling around for nearly a fortnight. She also let us use her laptop to check in for our flight. The big bedroom at the rear of the house overlooks Cow Bay and is probably the best in the B&B. There is a good guest lounge with TV and a deck with a fantastic view. Good for spotting Bald Eagles. Breakfast was very good and Andree was very helpful. She recommended Prince Rupert Adventure Tours for Grizzly Bear watching. A fantastic trip and a Bald Eagle 'show ' thrown in too (see separate review!). Some parts of the house need a little TLC but nothing that caused any concern. Andree, Dave, Blackie the cat and the house are all full of character.…
Our ferry from Vancouver Island had a 2,5 hours delay and arrived at 1 PM in Prince Rupert. We were worried about our reservations at Andree's B&B, but it worked out very well. Andree was informed by the ferry services, like every accommodation in town. We arrived and the door was open. There was a note with our room number and she informed us breakfast was ready early in the morning, because she knew we would go on a tour the next morning. It was very well arranged. After a long day we could finally enjoy a good night sleep! We have staid 2 nights in the "Honeysuckle room". The room was nice and had a private bathroom next to it. We could use the living room and the nice, sunny terrace as well. The B&B is on walking distance of the centre, the nice restaurants (the Crest is really recommendable!) and the harbour, where day tours leave. Breakfast was delicious. One day home made blueberry pancakes and one day a fresh farmer’s omelette. Andree is a very nice and interested host who makes you feel at home! Tip: Andree advised us "Prince Rupert Adventure Tours" for our Grizzly bear-viewing tour. The highlight of our trip! Fantastic!…
Four of us stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the experience, made very welcome by Andree and Dave, not to mention the cat. The house would not appeal if you like standardised soul-less lodgings but we found nothing at all to quibble about, enjoying the views and building itself. All of us would happily stay again, including 19 year-old and the 21 year-old sons.
On our first trip to Canada touring around for 3 weeks staying at both b&b's and hotels this was our worst experience. We arrived from the 'Skeena' train approx. 10pm to find a message left on the porch window telling us our room number and asking us to phone her as she was out. On contacting her she said that she would be home in 20 minutes and requested that we didn't go to bed so that we could pay for our 1 night's accommodation as we were departing early for the ferry the following morning. She also said that as we were leaving early we would not want breakfast, we could get this on the ferry. On proceeding to our room we noticed how shabby everywhere was. There was no lock on the bedroom door, the bath had been re-painted and was peeling and we couldn't sleep because we were so cold as there was only one blanket and thin cover. Also not only did we not have any food but no drink either, nothing was offered and there was nothing in our room, (we didn't realise this until late at night). Thankfully we had bought a bottle of water with us to take medication. We had a wonderful holiday staying in excellent b&b's and hotels where we were made so welcome with drinks available, lovely breakfasts and even food when we arrived in most cases. Luckily this experience was the only bad experience we had. We would not recommend this b&b. Robert043 …
