My comments pretty much agree with others. It is an old motel. The location is very convenient and the attendant was pleasant. The bathroom was very cramped to say the least. There was some water leaking from the suite above us into our unit.
This place is a dump, stay away or you’ll be sorry....found a bunch of black hairs in our bathroom when we first received the room. Also large spiders in the bathroom.....the motel also had a fire months ago and nothing has been repaired which leaves me to believe the structural integrity of the building is under questioni. They build a stub wall to hold up the balcony that had been burned but it’s not good. Not much up to code here either as outside the door on the over hang is a ton of wires none in conduit or wired properly. Old, run down, dirty and I’m surprised the city or health board has not shut them down. Doors do not close properly and fridge knocked had to unplug it to sleeep. Wanted to leave but Decided to stay with group, easily the worst hotel I have ever seen. I have one star only cause you had too or it would have been zero. I am disgusted by the place.…
They had a fire right above my room a few months back and it’s just been left as a burnt out frame. I asked and they said that no one will repair it to what it was, it has to be brought up to code first. So they are just leaving it. Hopefully the main supports weren’t damaged too badly. The room was dirty, the kitchenette had pathetic cooking equipment. At least there was an oven. The soap of previous “inmates” was left in the shower, in a little line. Six bars of used soap. Walls are paper thin, I could clearly understand the people in the next room who were speaking at a normal volume. This place feels like it came from a Tim Burton movie. I would never allow a family member to stay here. Spend another $20 and go somewhere else.
Motel is old out dated an kinda run downed. Hasn't changed since the 80's . Needs a serious remodel n update. Would be nice if they had a pool or hot tub without having to go across the street to the public pool.
I really liked the Parkside Resort Motel. It is a family run business. I liked the friendliness of everyone. People sat outside talking and visiting (not late enough to keep us awake). It was like going into a family reunion where everyone welcomes everyone else. We took advantage of their policy of allowing us to leave our car there for a small fee while we took the Alaska Ferry to Juneau. Our car was just as we left it. I appreciated the note on the TV channels list telling us which were the movie channels. Someone else might be bothered that all the rooms were not exactly alike. The ceiling in our room was not textured sheetrock. It was stained wood. That made it more unique to us. I liked that the shower curtain smelled of bleach. It was next door to a McDonald's so that we could run over for breakfast easily. Trying to find the driveway was the only drawback. We could see the motel sign as we drove into Prince Rupert, but to get to the driveway for it, we had to make a second try. The driveway is not on the main highway. We had to turn on the street by the McDonald's and drive past the McDonald's to see the Parkside sign pointing us to the correct driveway. Because it was quite cool each night we were there, we only used the heater. There might have been an air conditioner, but I did not notice.…
They re-invest their money where it best benefits you- fantastic memory foam bed. They are so comfy!! And excellent pillows. Ya, the building is older, but it's very quiet inside. The decor is what it is, but you're there to sleep mostly, and the bed is a dream! It's the best prices gem in Rupert.
I have stayed here about 4 times, rooms are older but clean and the try to keep them updated. Very Reasonable pricing 79 bucks right now for 2 persons 1 bed. Good parking and is easy to find with a McDonald's rest. Right next door.
Very good place to stay in Prince Rupert. Especially if you are fishing, they are VERY accommodating for recreation fishing, crab cookers, deep freeze, and just very nice people to deal with. Not fancy but clean with a good rate. Stay there every time I am in Prince Rupert.
This was our second visit in 2 years. It is a super place to stay if you are fishing in Prince Rupert. The rooms all have convenient kitchenettes, including freezer, microwave, & stove. They also have 2 propane b-b-q's and a crab cooker for guests. Enjoy your freshly cooked salmon on the picnic table on the lawn. There is space for boat and trailer parking as well. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel owners are very friendly and helpful.
I live in Terrace but I am usually in Rupert on day trips to work, returning home at night. Had a big job to do and needed a place for four nights. Everyone recommended other hotels, but I wanted a place I could see my vehicle at night and didn't seem to be overrun with can pickers. The Parkside is old, but the owners are very helpful and friendly. My room came with a full kitchenette, full size fridge and stove, microwave, toaster, dishes, pots, utensils . . .the whole enchilada. A separate bedroom with a queen size bed ( a bit firm for my tastes but comfortable) while the main area has a single bed and a convertible love seat. Wifi was great. They knew they 36" tv was dodgy so they trucked up a 42 inch Samsung tv for my stay. Hey, I am not staying anywhere else in Rupert anymore, and I will be requesting "my" room each time. This place is like me, unassuming, comfortable and friendly. I don't partake in McDonalds myself, but it is right next door.…
